Lost Dutchman Retreat Cottage

A unique retreat located in the Seven Mountains region near State College, PA. Enjoy the quiet mountains and disconnect. The cottage features a large master bedroom with king bed and a balcony. There is a small bathroom with shower attached to the master bedroom. The first floor has a small kitchen. On the ground floor we have a new living room, an additional bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath. The property is located near Bald Eagle State Forest, which provides opportunities for hunting, hiking, Dual Sport riding (prime ground for adventure riding) and some of the best mountain biking trails you could ask for. Rothrock Forest and Coopers Gap are also located nearby for more outdoor enjoyment. Located near famed fishing spots such as Penn's Creek and Kish Creek. Only 25 minutes to downtown State College, making this a quiet place to stay for any University events. There are also several local wineries, pubs and cideries to visit. Great stay in the cozy cottage. Perfect location to State College. Communication was flawless and check in and out very convenient. Less than 30 minutes to Beaver Stadium and just a few minutes from Seven Mountain Winery.

We loved every minute of our stay at the Lost Dutchman! It's a very cozy home which was conducive for reading, hiking and relaxing. We had fantastic tips for good restaurants, breweries, wineries and several State Parks and natural areas nearby. We are eager to return and enjoy each season at the Lost Dutchman!

Great spot!

Outstanding beds, great place for a peaceful, relaxing space just outside of State College. Will be on our list for future visits as it was a great place for peace, quiet, and rest in the woods! Wonderful communication and a great experience.

Gorgeous home

We had such a beautiful visit with our children at this cabin! The woods were peaceful, the home was so clean & welcoming, we especially loved the board games! Dana & Will were responsive, accommodating, & so welcoming. This was a perfect place to bring my family to visit the area I grew up in! We surely will be back!

The charming cottage was the perfect location from which to explore Bald Eagle State Park, State College and the entire area. The cottage also has a gas grill right on the front porch and a lot of room to spread out. My husband and daughter rode their dirt bikes during the day, while I visited the Seven Mountains Wine Cellars and nearby towns. Our hosts, Will and Dana, were extremely responsive which made for a stress free stay.

Remote mountain retreat with close proximity to Penn State University

Spacious, quiet with lots of room to spread out! I was a little surprised at how remote the property was but it worked well for us this weekend. Super comfy bed in master bedroom!

Wonderful, cozy experience!

The communication from the owner both through Vrbo and in terms of directions printed at the property were excellent. The property itself was well maintained and had all of the necessary accoutrements available. All in all, the weekend stay was a great one and the property largely made that a reality.

Perfect mountain stay near Poe Valley State Park!

Super cute yet rustic place that was perfect for our small group heading to the area for Poe Valley and Poe Paddy Parks for hiking, biking, and hanging at the lake. Clean with everything we needed. Hosts were extremely accommodating in returning something to us that was left in the cottage.

Relaxing

We enjoyed the cottage. Unique design. All the amenities needed were provided. Nice area to take a hike and enjoy the forest area. Will definitely return on another visit to that area.

We purchased this home in December of 2020. The home has so much charm and is located in a lovely mountain area. We recently completed an upgrade to the cottage from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a living room.

This property is located in the Seven Mountains area of Centre County, PA. Quiet and peaceful with good access to surrounding state forest.

What makes this property unique
