This place is well appointed and a pleasure to the senses. It is located near to several caves and not too far from Ricketts Glen and other beautiful places to visit in central Pennsylvania.
Stayed here for a wedding nearby in Spring Mills. Our stay was great as was the house, very well kept, clean, and cozy. Enjoyed our stay here very much and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this location to anyone! The mallards were a bonus!

We had a delightful stay! We walked in and were met with the cool air conditioning after the extremely hot PA summer travel weather. Inside the house was extremely nice, antique period house but modern, plenty of space, modern and well equipped kitchen, patio in the back to sit, plenty of sleeping space, and minutes to walk to winery, brewery, restaurant, meat market. All good. We would love to stay there again when we are in the area. We were NOT at all disappointed with any aspects of the property.
My dad and I went to Central PA to have a quick trip before the holidays and see PSU football while in the area. The town, house, and host are all top notch. This is our second time here and we'll be sure to return in the future! And to our surprise the ducks were still around even though it was 25 degrees outside.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mallard Place! We have been visiting our son who lives nearby for years and always stayed in hotels. I gave Mallard Place a try and I will never stay anywhere else! The property is beautiful, everything works wonderfully, it’s a short drive to State College, having a winery next-door is lovely! The hosts were excellent to work with. Truly will never stay anywhere else in that area.
The property was perfect for our needs, two couples over 50. We will be seeking this property again next year for the 'Another World' music festival. The pictures don't do the house enough justice, very comfortable, welcoming and above all CLEAN.
Thank you to our hosts, Kara & John!
John and Kara were wonderful hosts, and we really enjoyed our stay. The house was a very conveniently located and comfortable home base for my husband, our son and I, along with another family from our son’s MTB team while we were in town for the NUE Wilderness 101 MTB race. There were great restaurants in easy walking distance, and we enjoyed watching the many mallards that gather in the grassy area outside of the house. The kitchen was well equipped, so in addition to eating out, we were able to prepare some meals at home. John and Kara were very responsive to our messages and incredibly accommodating when we asked to increase our # of guests from 3 to 7 at the last minute when we decided to invite our son’s friend and his family to share the home with us once we learned his friend was racing too and hadn’t yet booked a place to stay. We would definitely stay again if we come back to the area in the future and highly recommend this VRBO!
What a great pace to stay. The kitchen had everything we could have wanted. Loved the back deck and of course the Mallards. Would definitely stay again. We were there for a Penn State Football weekend.
