About this property

Unique Conway Lake House

Tucked away on the shores of Conway Lake in the Mt. Washington Valley, this attractive lodge has its own beach/lake access steps from the house, with a canoe, kayak and paddleboat, (all included), swimming platform, dock, plus wooded grounds available for guests’ use, (bird watching!). Comfortably furnished with antiques and appointments of western décor; the multiple decks look out over the water. There is a special "T-pee" addition which houses the queen sized bed and it own bathroom and TV. This room has been used by several Honeymooners! The open living/dining/kitchen area is also on the first floor, as well as a bathroom with shower.
Second floor has a double bed (antique spool bed) and twin bedroom and the third bathroom. The TV room is also on the second floor - View from TV room and double bedroom are quite spectacular! All rooms have "Hunter Old Tyme Fans" , but there is no A/C.
Secluded and private setting but 5 miles from outlet shopping galore and wonderful restaurants, tourist sites, etc. Also in surrounding area is athletic club & yoga, antique stores, Water Park, Museums, Storyland, Fryeburg Fair (in October), Exquisite Foliage in Fall, Horseback riding, Six ski resorts with summer activities, and summer sleigh rides.
Also on the property in an authentic log cabin which has a year round rental (they have their own beach and dock off the back of their house). Owner has home also on property which is used on some weekends - and the owner may use the beach and boats when not used by the renter.

Fantastic vacation

Location is amazing, directly on the lake in a no wake section of Conway. We enjoyed the paddle boat, kayaks and fire pit on the private beach. We were a little concerned about the lack of air conditioning and one evening was pretty warm but we managed with opening the windows and putting fans near them. Overall it was a non issue. Would certainly stay again.

We had a wonderful family stay at the cabin. We never turned on the tv! We listened to music, listened to baseball games, played cards, played monopoly, did the 1000 piece puzzle (well, 999, one piece was missing), used the canoe, used the kayak, used the paddleboard, swam, and fished at the cabin. We did a couple of hikes and played golf a few times. Just a fantastic family bonding/relaxing vacation with our teenage boys. Flatbread Pizza Co was a family favorite restaurant.

Our family group had a fantastic week on Conway Lake. The house was even nicer than the pictures indicated - and the beach, boats and beautiful lake made for one of our best vacation experiences ever.

Great vacation house

The house is one of the few vacation houses in NH that is right on the lake and close to all of the shops and restaurants in North Conway. We loved being able to walk out to the kayaks, canoe and paddleboard. Owners are great and easy to work with.

A wonderful week!

My family and I spent the week here and had a wonderful time. The house was clean, lake was pristine there were many floats/kayaks/SUP to use. The location was perfect being a short ride to North Conway. The house was tucked away in a little cove and was very peaceful and quiet. We look forward to visiting the house again.

Rainy Week

It rained more days than it didn't, but we still were able to enjoy the beach and water equipment three of the days. The other days we just enjoyed indoor family time. The house was large enough for the five of us to play board games, read, and visit.

First-rate experience

My wife and I rented this unique property last week and could not have asked for a better experience. The house/property were very clean and well-stocked. The check in/out process was easy and the owners Karen and David were friendly and responsive throughout the whole process. The beach area was private and the equipment (canoe, Kayaks, paddleboard) were in excellent condition. The location is excellent for fishing from shore (and from the canoe), and the proximity to North Conway and Fryeburg can't be beat. I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful lake view

My husband and two kids (11 and 15) stayed for a week. Karen and Dave were very responsive and gave us great information to make our stay wonderful. The house was as described and perfect for what our family needed. Loved being so close to the water and having access to some fun water activities. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate everyday for us, but cannot fault owners or house for that. They even had the house fully stocked with books and games which we really enjoyed playing. We looked and looked for the best property will all the amenities, on the lake, with the boats, included a private dock, private location, small private beach, 3 bedroom 3 bath, stocked kitchen, unique and large cabin, front and back balconies, well kept and we got what was advertised. So pleased. Prior to the stay we asked for a few specialty items which were provided, no problem! Kayaking on the lake... you got it in 2 minutes time. Building fires on the beach... you got it, Enjoy

Doesn't get better than this....

This was a fantastic rental property...beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need. Stunning views and the lake only a few feet away. The house was maintained to a high standard was spotlessly clean and the owners a delight. The area has something to offer for everyone both Winter Summer and Fall. The mountains are great for Winter sports (ski, board, skate, cross country and ice fishing)or Summer exploring (great walking & hiking country) and the lake great to swim and boat on with the vessels provided in the Summer. Close by Mount Washington and Squam Lake(from On Golden pond) a must to visit. Great resturants with plenty of opportunities to try local clam chowder and fresh lobster. The house is set in beautiful woodland (makes a Fall visit all the more stunning) lots of wildlife including a beaver dam and resident loons and has a pretty beach so access to the lake and sandcastle building very easy. Not as advertised

The lake was beautiful but the house was not. It was over furnished to the point that there was nowhere to put anything that belonged to us. The kitchen still had food from prior renters, the bedrooms and living area had political paraphenalia that was not appropriate and the fans that were provided in the house did not work properly. There was nowhere to put your clothes and the house was not properly cleaned. There was a brass sink in the master bath that was green and had dark lines running through it, not very sanitary. My granddaughter had an ashma attack because it was so hot in the house, granted the owners did not have any control over the weather but as stated before, the fans did not work properly. We stayed one night and then found another property to stay at. I got in touch with the owner and they did give us a partial refund but the whole experience was frustrating.

We are so sorry to hear that you did not find the house pleasant. Everyone who enters always comments on how lovely it is. Also, there are pictures online of exactly how the house looks as well as the furniture. I also cannot understand how you did not find any place to put anything. Every bedroom has an empty closet with hangers for your possessions, and 2 bedrooms also have chests of drawers with empty drawers for your belongings. Each room has a ceiling fan, all of which work very well. It was an exceptionally hot week and we did not have air-conditioning, but there were extra fans to help with air movement. We just went and rechecked and all the fans are working perfectly, but you do need to turn the switch on at the wall. Also, it cools off in the evening and that cold air enters into the building. We have never had any issue with the cleaning of the unit. The cleaners had prepared it for that rental and had done heavy spring cleaning shortly before that. Since you did not indicate what was not clean - we do not know how to respond in specifics. The sink you are referring to is an antique brass sink that is thoroughly cleaned but brass can age. But the sink is clean and is cleaned regularly. It was very sad for us to read your review- most everyone seems to be very happy with the house!

Absolute serenity

What an absolute gem!! The cabin was beyond perfect for our family getaway. The eclectic decor was awesome with plenty of room for everyone. For a cabin in the middle of the woods the entire home and grounds were very clean. The kitchen was a bit small but works. My boys utilized most of the water toys as everything was in great working order. We rented a beautiful pontoon boat from Captain Cricket Pants for 3 days which was very reasonable and allowed us to see the amazing Lake Conway in its entirety. The dock accommodated a 24 foot boat with ease. We fished our tails of all week and the lake didn't disappoint. I will say go online and get a fishing license its very easy and only takes a few minutes because as we only saw a few boats on the water Fish and Game did come over and check on us. Tons of fish by the dock all small but if you fish off the swimming platform maybe you can land the 4lb largemouth and 3lb chain Pickeral we caught. The town of N Conway is just about a 12-minute drive which has a plethora of restaurants and shops. Mt Washington was about 50 minutes away which was definity a must see if you have the time. Great week on Conway Lake

Our family had a great week on Conway Lake at Karen and David Parker’s guest house. Quiet compound with three houses. One year round renter who was very pleasant with a friendly dog. Owners house was un-occupied during our stay. We brought our boat and was able to dock it on their dock. Plenty of swimming and fishing in their quiet cove. House was very comfortable with a small functional kitchen and three bedrooms. Multiple grills were nice for cooking out doors. Karen checked in multiple times during our stay via email to make sure everything was fine. Will stay again.

Perfect location

This was our second visit to this property. Karen was very accommodating with our scheduling needs with three kids being dropped off at camp. The location is perfect and it is always lovely to be right on the cove.

We live in Boston which we love but it is a busy city life and we love to get away
on weekends to our special NH getaway! We raised 3 children in Boston and
in our lake front house, and even though the children are grown and live far away, they try to get to NH as often as they can. We all have wonderful memories of the lake and we continue to make new memories.

Why they chose this property

We found this property while staying with friends at their nearby home. We fell in love with the property and bought it in June 1976 when our second child was an infant! We have made many many changes and improvements over the years, and
are very content with the finished product.

What makes this property unique

This property is very unique - it sits on a little peninsula with a lovely beach and views. To one side is a wonderful marsh where fish breed, and my son discovered turtles, beavers, bull frogs and insects! It is situated in a tree forest off a dirt road but within three miles is North Conway with restaurants, outlets, bars, indoor water park - anything you might want - or Not!!
