About this property

The Silver Rose - Luxury near Downtown, Fall Colors Are On!

Enjoy five-star mountain luxury in our spacious, beautifully decorated 3-bedroom home with modern-day conveniences. Located three blocks from downtown and within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the Leadville 100 Race Series start and finish line. Relax on the wide front porch seated on an original Ski Cooper ski area chair lift. Play pool in the game room that has stunning views of the highest mountain in Colorado, 14,433' Mt. Elbert.

The kitchen is a full-service kitchen that has stainless steel appliances and an induction stove. It is equipped with cooking utensils, silverware, dishes, wine glasses, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, blender, rice cooker, and really just about anything you need to cook. Coffee, tea, spices, and cooking oil are all provided.

The dining room table seats ten and was hand-crafted by the owner from a blue spruce from his family home.

The living room is exquisitely decorated and has a gas fireplace with an antique 1880s fireplace mantle.

Enjoy cozy and comfortable king beds in both the master bedroom and the second master. The third bedroom has queen bunk beds. The sheets are soft and the bedrooms are very quiet making for a great night's sleep.

Relax in the large clawfoot tub in the master bath after a day of skiing, biking, hiking, or whatever meets your adventuresome outdoor spirit. Or unwind differently by curling up to a good book, or catch up on the day's news, in one of the two reading nooks tucked away at each of the stair landings. Each nook is conveniently equipped with USB ports.

The house has two (2) flat-screen TVs. One is in the second master bedroom and the other is in the TV room. Both TVs require a ROKU account which is easy to set up. There are some free channels available, otherwise, you can access HBO, Netflix, Prime Video, whatever you have an account with.

On the third floor is the pool room and a TV room. The TV room has plenty of games and puzzles for your enjoyment. The TV room couch easily folds out into a full-size bed and has a memory foam mattress topper for super comfy sleeping. For overflow sleeping, (or where to put the one who snores), there is a twin-size XL hideaway bed on wheels that can go anywhere on the 3rd floor.

There is a one-stall garage for parking or storing your gear (a rarity for Leadville). In addition to the garage, there is onsite parking located on the east side of the property and street parking in front of the house.

The house has fast internet speed if you need to get some work done.

**Please note careful cleaning and disinfecting procedures are being followed to ensure that The Silver Rose is sanitized upon your arrival. We are following proper cleaning and disinfecting protocol and waiting 24 hours between guests.

The cleaning fee helps you to not have to strip the beds, deal with towels, or take out the trash. You're on vacation after all.

Eco-friendly cleaning and bath products from Public Goods are used throughout the house, ensuring a sustainable environment.

Guest Access

As a guest, you have access to the entire house and the middle garage bay. There are two other garage bays, one for the long-term tenant who lives above the garage and the other for the owner's private storage space.

Other Things to Note

There are NO pets allowed under any circumstances. We, as owners, enjoy the house ourselves often, and unfortunately, one of us is extremely allergic to animals.

The house is equipped with outside cameras for security monitoring. These cameras are located on the front porch and via Ring door cams.

There is NO smoking inside the house. You can smoke outside. If there is any smell of cigarette or marijuana smoke inside the home or any cigarette butts found where it is seen that you were smoking, you will be charged a $350 fee.

Absolutely NO parties, events, late-night music, etc. The home is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood with friendly neighbors who appreciate adherence to quiet time at 10:00 PM.

For guests above 6, an additional $45 per person will be increased per night to help offset the extra cleaning fees. If the hideaway bed and/or the couch bed are used during your stay, the additional $45 per bed, per night fee will be added to your reservation if you did not already pay the extra guest fee.

We will try to respond to your message as soon as possible. We also have a local agent who lives in the apartment above the garage who is available to assist you to answer questions, make recommendations as needed, etc.

The Silver Rose is three blocks from downtown where you'll find restaurants, coffee shops, and other fine establishments including The Silver Dollar Saloon. Established in 1879, The Silver Dollar is the second oldest saloon in Colorado and was frequented by Doc Holliday, Molly Brown, and Oscar Wilde. Across the street from the saloon is The Tabor Opera House, another Leadville historical legend built in 1879 by mining magnate Horace Tabor. Also within walking distance is the Leadville 100 Race Series start and finish line.

My husband John and I had a dream several years ago to have a place in Leadville that we could use as a mountain base for all of our outdoor adventuring. We were always passing through Leadville on our hiking and biking excursions in the Collegiate Peaks and camping at Turquoise Lake. We fell in love with the town and its uniqueness. We found this perfect lot and set out to build The Silver Rose. Every weekend with our teenage kids, we drove up from Berthoud, CO, and built this place from the ground up. Two years in the making, and it was all worth it. We hope you agree!
