The Neighborhood:
Imogene Home sits on Imogene Circle, a quiet wooded residential cul-de-sac north of Leadville, Colorado, at approximately 10,100 ft elevation. The home is positioned between downtown Leadville and Ski Cooper — a 5-minute drive to Harrison Avenue restaurants and a 15-minute drive to Ski Cooper's base.
Downtown Leadville (5 min south by car): Harrison Avenue runs a mile of Victorian-era storefronts, brewpubs, and shops. Local favorites include Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, the Silver Dollar Saloon (1883), Melanzana fleece, the Delaware Hotel, and the Tabor Opera House.
Year-round outdoor access: hiking, fly fishing, fourteener climbs (Mt. Elbert 14,440 ft and Mt. Massive 14,428 ft, both 30 min south), snowshoeing, Nordic skiing on the Mineral Belt Trail (5–7 min drive), and downhill skiing at Ski Cooper (15 min), Copper Mountain (30 min), Vail and Beaver Creek (45 min via I-70).
The location splits the difference: outside of town for quiet evenings and easy ski-day departures, close enough that dinner downtown is a 5-minute drive.
Getting Around:
A vehicle is required — all of Colorado's mountain activities need one, and there is no regular public transit between Imogene Cir and the ski areas.
Driving access: Imogene Cir sits just off US-24, the main north-south highway through the Leadville corridor. Ski Cooper is 15 minutes north on US-24. Copper Mountain and Vail are east via I-70 (30 min and 45 min respectively). Downtown Leadville is 5 minutes south.
Parking: 2-car garage plus a driveway for 2–3 additional vehicles. The driveway is plowed in winter.
Denver International Airport (DEN) is 2 hr 15 min via I-70 and US-24. Eagle County Airport (EGE) is 50 min via I-70. Colorado Springs is ~2 hr 45 min.
Other Things to Note:
ALTITUDE: Imogene Circle sits at approximately 10,100 feet. Plan your first 24 hours easy: drink double your usual water, ease up on alcohol, and avoid heavy exertion the day you arrive. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, and shortness of breath. We cannot offer refunds for altitude sickness — if you're prone, consider travel insurance.
NO A/C: Nights in the Leadville area run 40s–50s even in July. Windows and cross-breezes handle daytime warmth. A/C is not installed and is not needed at this elevation.

The stay was a great location - just north of downtown Leadville and just about 12 minute drive from Ski Cooper. We didn't have the chance to ski because it was too warm, but enjoyed watching march madness, playing boardgames and getting into the hot tub. We had a small issue with the hot tub that was resolved within 24hours of reaching out to the manager.

Thanks so much, Amanda! Glad you enjoyed the location, hot tub, and games. Happy we could get the hot tub sorted quickly! You’re welcome back anytime
We really liked this property. Easy to find, easy in and out, good floor plan, very functional kitchen. Everything was clean and in working order. Only thing I could complain about is the ping pong table is pretty worn out, the paddles are terrible, and there were no pong pong balls. Parking was really good and it is very convenient to town. We hiked to the top of Mr. Elbert. Holy Smokes! That is quite the challenge.

Great location close to downtown Leadville. Easy access to all the fun recreational things that Leadville has to offer. The house is clean and accommodating for a family or small group. Property management was responsive and came out quickly to refill the propane tank for the grill.

The Traverse team knocked it out of the park! They had a “Santa Was Here” set up for our three grands who were away from home on Christmas Day. Very special!!The home is comfortable and clean. The kitchen could use a few items. But overall, our stay was very nice.

We stay in Leadville and ski Cooper for 3 Days every year. This homes location was perfect for us. The kitchen was fully equipped for the five us to reheat all of our meals. The hot tub and comfortable furniture made the stay even better. We all played pong and watched TV comfortably. We hope to book this home for our trip next year!

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. Plenty of space for our 6. The large sectional, table for 6, ample kitchen space, and multiple bathrooms were really nice. Initially the beds felt extremely firm when we sat on them but when you actually lie down, they are a good memory foam and soften/give to your body so we ended up sleeping quite comfortably. The house was very nicely cleaned and stocked.

A family of 5 stayed for a few days snowboarding at Ski Cooper, just 17 minutes away. Second time staying at this house. We love how spacious the space is. They have a well-stocked amazing Kitchen, a large dining room table, and a great hot tub! Appreciate how communicative the property management was. We will be back again.

Super close to skiing! The cabin was great. Would have liked to utilize the hot tub more. It was low in water and never heated up past 99, so felt like a bathtub. But everything else was great!

Glad to hear the cabin was great overall! Sorry about the hot tub not reaching its full potential, though. Hopefully, you still managed to enjoy your time skiing and making the most of your stay!
We loved the hot tub! It was the main perk of this property. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. We used nearly every bed, and nearly everyone complained about it, lol. Place was well maintained, and clean. Property managers were communicative. Would have given it a higher ranking if we slept better.

This home is stocked with everything youth need and the extras that make it nice. Well stocked kitchen with supplies to make any dish! Really nice gas range. Ping pong for the kids and the bean bag chairs were a hit! Comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. 15 mind from ski Cooper. Nice garage and plenty of hooks to hang ski clothes on. Nice neighborhood, so around great price. The keypad for entry was a little finicky which did add stress when coming and going.

The house is just as it is described online. It had everything we needed and was perfect for our quick trip to Leadville. Water pressure was amazing and the kitchen had everything we needed for simple meals. Bed was comfortable (pillows less so) and towels and sheets were great. The living area was well designed and comfortable. We did not use the TV, hottub, grill, or laundry but they all looked like they were in great shape.
Communication with the host was excellent. We chose this house after another VRBO fell through at the last moment because of a burst pipe. This host responded immediately and made sure our stay was easy and comfortable. Thank you!

Hi Valerie, thank you for your time to leave a review. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
Because of health reasons I was unable to stay at your property but the rest of the family did. They really enjoyed their time in Leadville. Our son has a house in Leadville but was unable to host our gathering so we got a VRBO.
When I read the reviews before choosing this property they said how the beds were uncomfortable. I did not tell my family this but that was the first thing they said about their stay. When one gets a hotel room or VRBO they are getting it to sleep. Please make a note of this for your future guests.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback with us. We're glad to hear that the rest of your family enjoyed their time in Leadville. We apologize for any discomfort caused by the beds, and appreciate your input about the importance of a good night's sleep. We'll certainly take this into consideration for our future guests.
This home was recently renovated! Appliances, Furnishings, Mattresses, Linens, PING PONG table - bean bag room in basement for kids, etc. are good quality. Internet/Wifi is great! Roku TVs for easy watching on the relaxing days! Plenty of kitchen stuff to cook/eat/drink anything. 15 minutes to Ski-Cooper, family skiing/classes were an affordable blast for the whole family! The house was previously owned by a smoker, even though everything looks to have been replaced/re-painted the smell lingers a little, but we got used to it. Would recommend to friends. Thank you for having us!

Thanks fo the review, Joe! We're glad you enjoyed it and hope to see you again soon.
Our family stayed in Leadville North for almost two weeks while preparing for our daughter's wedding at Ski Cooper. The house offers a large living and dining area, four bedrooms and three baths with a kitchen roomy enough for cooking/baking. There is also a gas grill on the back deck for outdoor grilling. The furniture and beds are very comfy and there are plenty of linens and towels for a large family. Being able to use the two car garage is a plus, especially in cold or snowy weather! There are several large TV's so the whole family can watch movies or channels with no problem. There are no humidifiers for aid in high altitude sleeping and dry noses, but there are small space heaters if there is a chill in the air, as the thermostat is programmed to run no higher than 70 degrees.
There is no vent in the master bath, so we used the space heaters when showering on chilly mornings. In addition, there is only one vent in the basement bedroom, so a heater was used there as well. The property is located at the top of a circle in the Homestake subdivision, which is a quiet residential area. We were impressed with how quiet it was day and night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at this property again!
