Why they chose this property

Why We Chose Bethany House

My husband, Andreas, and I didn't set out simply to buy another property—we were searching for something very special.

For a long time, I carried a deep desire to own a home in the heart of Old Fréjus. I prayed very specifically about the kind of house I hoped we would find and where it would be. I hoped it would be tucked away on one of the charming pedestrian-only streets in the Artists' Quarter, behind the Town Hall and beside the magnificent Saint-Léonce Cathedral, where history, creativity, and everyday French life come together.

When we found Bethany House, I knew immediately that it was the place I had been hoping and praying for.

The house certainly wasn't perfect. It needed extensive restoration, and when Andreas first saw it, he thought it was far more work than we wanted to take on. But I saw something different. I knew this was the house I had prayed for. The location was exactly right, and I knew we were meant to bring it back to life.

The renovation became a three-year journey filled with challenges, perseverance, and many memorable moments. As the renovation began and the demolition got underway, we made an unexpected discovery. Hidden behind the wooden cladding were the magnificent original stone walls. We had no idea they were there when we bought the house, making their discovery one of the greatest joys of the renovation.

Bethany House has become much more than a holiday home to us. It is a gift that we have been privileged to restore, and one that we now have the joy of sharing with guests from around the world.

Our hope is that while you're here, you'll experience more than just a comfortable place to stay. We hope you'll discover the beauty, history, and peaceful charm that first captured our hearts—and that, for a little while, Bethany House will feel like home.

Bethany House has been a gift to us. It is now our joy to share that gift with you.

Warmly,

Camille & Andreas
