The home was beautiful & clean. Breathtaking views from all the porches & rooftop. Beautiful gardens & artwork inside & out. Emily was available to help with questions or anything we needed during our stay.
We loved our stay at the Orchid Garden. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, the beaches are all about 25-30 min away. Our hostess Emily did a great job responding to my questions on the front end and was also very welcoming and helpful while we were there. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!
We loved our stay at Orchid Garden. It's a beautiful house, fantastically decorated. The views are amazing, and we were very comfortable there. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, and very helpful letting us know the places to go (beaches, restaurants, stores, etc.), and if there was live music happening. I highly recommend!!
We had a fantastic time and greatly enjoyed our stay at Orchid Garden. Decorated in a manner that makes you feel like you are staying in a museum, every day there is a new discovery. The hosts, Emily and Ric were welcoming and available to assist with advice that only those who have lived on the island for decades can provide. The roof top makes it a very unique property and possibly has the best views on the island. We found ourselves up there morning and night!
We absolutely loved our vacation here. It was filled with art archetecture together with warm breezes. Would love to revisit again. Ric and Lolita were great hosts and highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Emily was sweet and the view is nice. I do feel that the listing is grossly misleading. The place is filthy, I do not think it has been cleaned in years. There was dust and cobwebs on everything, the dishes are dirty and the screens have holes that let bugs in. You cannot flush toilet paper or even when u pee. You have to save the toilet paper in the garbage and it sits in the heat all day. The bathroom grout has mold and the shower is not graded so you will have a lake in the bathroom when you shower (but they do put brooms in both showers so you can sweep the water into the drain as you shower). “Chefs kitchen” listed but we were told we could not use the oven (toaster oven only). Master is the only room with AC, they do offer fans but the fans have a thick layer of dirt and dust on them. No mattress just three layers of foam covered with a sheet. Furniture is just a wood couch/chairs with cheap lawn cushions, no comfortable seating anywhere. This place is so dirty that I didn’t want to use the AC in the master because I was worried because I was worried I would get legionnaires from it. I have exercise induced asthma but never had problems if not exercising. This place was so dirty that I was using my rescue inhaler constantly when there. Once I would go out for the day I was fine, only to have problems again within minutes of returning.

I appreciate your input. I saw you several times and you never told me you were unhappy or I would have my cleaning girls in to clean to your satisfaction. Your asthma was triggered by the Sahara dust which was bad that week. Using the aircon which was recently cleaned would have helped. The master bedroom has a sleep number mattress and the guest bedroom tempurpedic foam as mattresses don’t last long in the tropics. Now that it is off season I will address the other issues. I had no jntention of causing you any inconvenience. You are the first person in 15 years of renting to give a 2 star review. Most people give 5,stars.
Not sure what I can say that hasn't already been covered in other reviews, this rental is fantastic with exceptional views and really cool decor. Owner is super nice and helpful. Had a great stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back.
We very much enjoyed the picturesque seascape and the view of all of the surrounding islands. We liked being on the quiet side of the island away from the noise and hustle and bustle. Being high up on the mountain we had a steady seabreeze. Our host was gracious and told us places to go and things to do.
the views were fantastic, the owners were very helpful and offered advice on what to see and where to go. Rick and Lolitta came up with some wine and food before we left and Rick regaled us with stories of their adventures which made the vacation more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!!
Host was responsive and always available. The property is very unique. The views are spectacular and the roof is perfect for stargazing and sunning. We were extremely happy with the whole experience.
A beautiful house in a beautiful setting - ideal for those who appreciate quiet, ocean views, and Asian art. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you!
This is such a unique, artistic and charming home! The character of the furnishings and craftsmanship make it special. The beds are comfortable. We enjoyed sunrises, happy hours and star gazing from the rooftop patio, morning coffee in the breakfast nook and reading books on the covered porch. It is in a quiet location close to some great hiking and great snorkeling in some pretty remote bays. We loved our stay and will cherish the memories.
Delightful Living Space With Panoramic Water Views
This unique space is well designed for two couples -- each with en suite bath. You have the entire upper floor, plus various decks and patios, including a large rooftop deck -- all with panoramic views of water and islands. The living space is artistically designed and decorated with eclectic art from around the world. An amazing space in an amazing location!
We enjoyed our say at the Orchid Garden very much. You won't find a more exotic place on St. John with the many items from the Far East adorning the place and awesome landscaping. The view of the other islands is outstanding and private rooftop one of a kind. The location is a bit removed from the restaurants in Coral Bay, but that's a minor issue compared to the positives of the Orchid Garden.
