The property was very clean and furnished. The themes of the rooms were awesome and it was overall a great stay! Super close to a lot of the typical attractions of Colorado Springs as well. The Hosts were very communicative and responsive. One of our best stays!

Quiet Spot

We stayed in CO Spr for a week & this little hideaway was a great refuge after each of several very full days. I can't imagine going back to a hotel room after some of our days. It was so good to have our own mini house. We would always rather make a meal ourselves in a kitchen than eat out. This was a perfect spot to decompress!

Cozy place to stay in Colorado Springs

Small quiet 2 br cottage. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the location on the westside away from most of the traffic. Having a washer and dryer was a plus. Would recommend.

Cute and Cozy

The propery is just right for us. Had all the necessaties and was very COZY. We used as a home base for activities with family in the area. But, for anyone visiting it is in prime location for all the common tourist sites and downtown. So MUCH around. Thank you Josh and Rachel for being great hosts!

This cozy rental is even better than pictured/described! Clean, wonderfully furnished & decorated, comfortable, great location, fully stocked with everything we needed and then some, fenced yard for our dog, great communication with owner. Wonderful home

This house was a perfect location for us, we wanted to hike in Red Rock and The Manitou Trail. The house was great, beautiful on the inside, with lots of necessary items and extras. Very comfortable beds, great towels and loved the special touch of beers and water in the refridge. One of the better VBRO I have stayed at.

Fantastic property

This property is fantastic. Super clean and easy access. Rachel is an amazing host. I accidentally changed the key code on the door and she reset it for me very quickly. I would 1000% stay here again. One of the cleanest vacation property rentals I’ve stayed at.

The Little Things...

The place was so cozy, clean, and comfortable. All the extra little touches- from the local beer in the fridge, to the snack basket, to the hair binders in tbe bathroom- were so appreciated! Our 11 yo daughter loved her room and took pics for inspiration for her own room. 😁 We really loved our stay and the place was in the perfect location.

Quiet spot.

We were in town for a conference and this fit the bill perfectly - a cute casita; quiet, clean, comfortable. We also enjoyed Colorado City's restaurants. We look forward to returning in the warmer season to enjoy the local outdoor activities. Rachel was not only quick to respond - but she had cold water and beer in the fridge awaiting our arrival!

Marvelous stay

Our family booked this property because of the central location in Colorado Springs. It truly was the best choice because everything we enjoyed was right up or down the road. Quite neighborhood, Comfortable beds, Absolutely all the thoughtful amenities needed for a comfortable stay, Fully equipped kitchen, A/Cs and fans kept us cool, TV full of entertainment, Board and card games and a creatively written book written by a local author ;), Modern and creative decorations. Rachel responded very promptly to all needs. Highly recommend this property!

Cute and centrally located

Clean 2br 1ba detached structure with parking a few feet away. Basic kitchen with electric burners and oven, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. Close neighbor starts up a diesel truck each morning at 7:30am, so no need for an alarm clock. Located a short drive from the garden of the gods with beautiful hiking and no parking fees. Really cute living space, well decorated and convenient to restaurants and breweries. I would definitely stay there again.

Why they chose this property

Casa de Luz y Sombra is the second home on my property. We live in the old front house, and you’ll be staying in the new southwestern gem. We wanted to open this delightful home up for visitors due to its amazing proximity to the best parts of town. The home is three blocks from a picturesque trailhead, walking distance from historic Old Colorado City, a short drive to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs.

What makes this property unique

Casa de Luz y Sombra is unique because her location. For being in the heart of the West Side, your stay will feel rural. It’s a very quiet street, in a very safe neighborhood. Plus with your host living right on the property (but in a completely separate space), you’ll have a knowledgeable guide to help choose the absolute best experiences for you and your family (and the privacy you’ll need to enjoy yourself). The space is decorated with the utmost care providing a comfortable and clean stay. There is even a private yard for your furry friend!
