We all want the comforts and conveniences of home when we travel, and in this cottage, you’ve got them. But it’s also nice to stay in surroundings with a touch of whimsy – something completely different from what we’re used to. Here, you’ve got that, too! This home was decorated with just enough Southwestern details to make you smile, but also with an eye toward creating a restful environment you’ll love returning to after an adventurous day.
This dwelling is a guest house for the larger home just beside it, but it’s completely detached and private. Follow the pathway to the front door painted a welcoming turquoise, and notice an outdoor sitting area with a café table for two. Enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh Rocky Mountain air!
Step inside and find yourself in an airy, open concept space that’s loaded with character and knotty pine. There’s room for lounging, cooking, dining, and watching TV. A sitting area with a contemporary 3-seater sofa is a cozy spot for sharing a movie night together, with a wall-mounted TV and coffee table for your snacks.
A large eat-in kitchen includes a counter-height dining table for 4, and plenty of cabinets and counter space. Enjoy the use of a refrigerator/freezer, a range with cooktop and oven, microwave, and dishwasher. You’ll also appreciate the little details, like a coffee maker and a set of chef’s knives for the serious cook among you.
Hidden behind a set of wide doors, you’ll find a washer and dryer for your convenience.
Both bedrooms were decorated in simple, soothing colors with contemporary furnishings that hint at the rustic character of the Rockies.
Larger room has a king bed, closet, dresser, and TV. The adjoining bathroom has an additional entrance for access by other guests.
The second bedroom is also appointed with a queen bed and TV, and includes a closet.
The bath provides a large shower stall with a glass enclosure, as well as a sink vanity with storage below for toiletries.
Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.
This home is managed by a local vacation and mid-term rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.

The Neighborhood:
When you want to enjoy absolutely everything the Colorado Springs region has to offer, this is a great place to be.
This home is located in “Old Colorado City,” one of Colorado Springs’ most endearing neighborhoods. As a national historic district, it’s replete with distinctive 19th and early 20th century architecture, complemented by mature, leafy trees. It’s a great area for anyone who appreciates that “small town” feeling, because it’s walkable and loaded with great restaurants and artsy little shops.
But when you’re looking to pick up the pace just a little, you’re only a 7-minute drive from Downtown, where you’ll find even more options for dining and shopping, as well as museums, art galleries, lounges, performing arts venues, and much more.
Of course, we can’t ignore the great outdoors. Nestled against the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities offer a wide range of fresh-air activities and stunning natural vistas. Enjoy hiking, rafting, fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, skiing, ziplining, wildlife spotting, and much more.
Here are just a few of the area’s more popular outdoor destinations and their proximity from this charming home:
Red Rock Canyon Open Space (5 minutes)
Bear Creek Regional Park East (5 minutes)
Cheyenne Cañon Park (10 minutes)
The Garden of The Gods Visitor & Nature Center, where ancient rock formations tower overhead at 300 feet (7 minutes)

Great property in a nice location, close to pikes peak, garden of the gods, downtown Colorado Springs, and all the hiking and activities we wanted to do. Would definitely recommend this location.
This property and location is amazing! The house is well appointed and cozy, the neighborhood is close to downtown Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, and Pike's peak cog train. Would definitely stay here again!
Very well equipped. Plenty of kitchen wares which was great as we had grandchildren there often. Location was great - near Manitou Springs, the Broadmoor, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Old Colorado City.. couch should be replaced as cushions sink way into the bed frame.
We had a great stay in this guest house. Location is optimal for Manitou Springs/Old Colorado City/Colorado Springs. Cozy and clean place and perfect for us. Would love to come back!
Communication with the host was good. The house was clean and comfortable, just right for what my daughter and I needed. Very reasonably priced for the generous space and extra bedroom. The neighborhood is not far from Old Colorado City, which I appreciated. I would stay at this location again.

Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad the house was clean, comfortable, and just what you needed. It’s great to hear the location and price worked well for you too. We’d love to host you again!
Couldnt recommend this porperty more. It was off the main road, 3 blocks from a dead end. There was such little traffic we kept forgetting we were in heavily populated area.

Nice quiet area. The house is clean, well equipped. Great to have the washer and dryer. The entry process was easy. Communication was clear fast. Could use pillows that aren’t so high. Thanks

Thank you, Patricia! I’m glad you enjoyed the area and the house. It’s great to hear you had a smooth check-in. I’ve taken note of the pillows and worked to improve for future guests. Take care and stay safe!
More than just a place to stay, a true home away from home! EVERYTHING is furnished - appliances, cookware, dishes, soaps and TP, towels…all you need to bring is your clothing and a toothbrush. The king size bed in the master bedroom was especially comfortable, and there are plenty of pillows. The only caveat is not to leave anything sweet sitting out - it will draw ants, but I suppose that can be a problem anywhere. The location is ideal, literally only a few miles from the best local attractions. When we take our next vacation to this area, we hope this house will be available again!

Thank you for the wonderful review! I’m so glad you felt at home and appreciated all the amenities, especially the comfy king bed. We’ll make sure to address the minor issue you mentioned for future guests. We’d love to have you stay again on your next visit!
Great quiet location close to OCC & Manitou Springs!
We looked for a quiet neighborhood near Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs. This property did not disappoint! It's clean, roomy, & well laid out, and 5 minutes from good food and attractions, too. We discovered quickly that going two blocks north on Broadway and then a right onto 25th st gave us congestion free traffic to reach Colorado Drive. Definitely try Bon Ton's cafe for breakfast or lunch. Hoste was VERY responsive when we had a question. Lower Gold Camp Road is close by and makes for a nice drive in the mountains yet still close to home base. Same for Garden of the Gods! We would stay here again!

Hey Greg! Thank you for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful review! It’s wonderful to hear that the property met your expectations. I’m glad you enjoyed exploring the nearby attractions and found some hidden routes—those local tips are always a plus! We’re also happy that you had a good experience with our team’s responsiveness.
We’d love to host you again on your next visit!
Probably unlike most of your guests, we spent most of our time at the house rather than exploring Colorado Springs; and we enjoyed being there. The house was well supplied (only thing needed was a can opener that I couldn't locate). A safety suggestion would be to replace the throw rug by the kitchen sink with a rubber backed rug that would not get twisted up underfoot. The house was very clean, but the kitchen countertop, range top, and floor around the counter had a sticky film. For check in, it would have been helpful to know that we would be letting ourselves in rather than meeting a vrbo rep exactly at 4:00. I had twice previously rented a vrbo where I was met by staff. There was no need for contact with the property manager, therefore, I would have preferred leaving that rating blank.Overall the property met our needs and we would certainly return again. Thank you.

Thank you, Lynn, for your thoughtful and detailed feedback. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed spending time at the house and found it well-supplied and comfortable overall. We appreciate the helpful suggestions, especially regarding the rug and kitchen cleaning details, and we've passed those along to our team to address. We'll also work on clarifying the self-check-in process for future guests to help set expectations more clearly. We'd love to welcome you back anytime, and we're grateful for your insights!
Place was VERY dark and smelled of some kind of deordorizor like Febreeze. Turns out it was the carpet - and thinking I would air the place out a bit discovered that black mold was in all of the windows. Not just a little dirt to wipe out, but encased so that the windows need replacing. Dead insects were on most window sills as well. Kitchen sink was slow and bathroom was tiny. In the short time we stood in there, gaping at the mess, the traffic noise outside was very loud. Hoste property manager was understanding and immediately cancelled our reservation after I sent pictures when we complained but that left us last minute having to find something else. We feel mislead by the pictures and the "5 star reviews" - were they fake? Or posted by the property owner?I wonder if this review will even be published? Very shady.
