A very lively area of Paris that is less known than the surrounding areas. However, it is one of the busiest in the capital. The busy cultural and commercial activity of the surrounding areas is such that the streets are being integrated one after the other into the networks of one neighbouring district or another. Nevertheless, this is where everyone comes to walk and do their shopping. A large pedestrian area in the 1790s, the charm of the local streets combines with that of the many shopping alleys. The area is surrounded by the Saint-Eustache church and the Halles, rue du Louvre, Rue Réaumur, and the boulevard Sébastopol. The buildings are concentrated in the narrow streets, perfect for sitting at a table on the many terraces. Walks in Bonne-Nouvelle As you wander from one shop to another, make sure you don't miss the entrance to the symbolic passage of the Grand-Cerf, rue Saint-Denis, a shopping arcade with a high glass roof and which is listed as a historical monument. A relic of the first half of the 19th century that survived the Haussmann-style metamorphosis and lamented by Aragon in The Peasant of Paris, it is part of the enrichment of the social life and atmosphere of the area. On Rue Etienne Marcel, curiosity takes you to the Tower of John the Fearless, one of the last remnants of the Middle Ages in Paris. The tower is built on the ramparts of Philip II Augustus and was part of the Hotel des Ducs de Bourgogne. Rue Saint-Denis is a symbol of Paris. It was known as the red light district for many years but it is now being transformed, and traditional shops are making an appearance. Montorgueil is a very lively area and has a particularly good metro service: line 4 runs to Les Halles, Etienne Marcel and Réaumur Sébastopol, where it intersects with line 3, which also leads to the Sentier station. At the Châtelet station, you can take the RER A, B and D. In terms of shopping, Montorgueil has everything you need: small convenience stores, bakeries, general food stores, and, of course, a wide choice of restaurants.

This 60 square metres, 2 bedroom, 1 bath, apartment is located on Palestro street in the 2nd district, with lift from a 19th century building and it sleeps 4 people.

We can offer you an optional continental breakfast.

This apartment is equipped with: washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, cable, TV, unlimited high speed internet access with the wifi, decorative fireplace. Wonderful property and host. Was extremely accommodating and communicative with us even while traveling overseas. Perfect location and would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.
Thank goodness for Google translation, we had a issue with the washer but Isabel responded in French. It was fixed within 24 hours. Very easy shops, food & metro.
Security into the building was excellent, always felt safe. Plenty of room for 2 people with the charm of a Parisian apartment and furnishings. Close by to excellent restaurants and an easy walk to famous sites such as the Louvre, or a choice of metro stations servicing the city are so close by. Excellent communication and help from our hosts the whole way through booking and the stay. Highly recommend. Thank you David and Isobel
Beautiful Apartment and in an excellent location. One street over is Rue St. Denis which has tons of cafe's and bars. 15-20 minute walk to Louvre/Notre Dame. Across the street is the Monoprix supermarket which was very convenient. We also rented a car for side trips outside Paris and two streets over there was Indigo Parking - Rue St. Martin, again very convenient. Also across the street was the Reaumur-Sebastopol Metro Station. You can take Metro #4 up to Montmartre or down to Latin Quarter. Metro #9 to Eiffel Tower. Isabel, the Property Manager, was excellent. We had booked two apartments in same building and we were pretty much homeless on Saturday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Isabel let us move all our luggage to the new apartment on Friday night and I cannot say how much that was such a big help for us. If you are planning a trip to Paris, I would recommend staying here. If I ever go back to Paris, I would definitely rent this apartment again.
