About this property

Mountain View Getaway

You are renting the entire lower portion of our basement rancher. You will have a separate driveway and entrance, and even your own outdoor porch area. We are only 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, 35 minutes from Townsend, and an hour and 15 minutes from Cade's Cove. If you like the mountains, we have a mountain view and we are only 5 minutes from Hwy. 129 that goes to the Dragon's Tail. We are located only 20 minutes away from TYS airport. There is one bedroom (queen bed), one full bath, a fully functional kitchen, a large living area, and even a small laundry room with washer & dryer. There is a nice queen hide-a-bed, and a queen air mattress available as well for larger groups. (We live in the upstairs portion of the house, but there are no kids or pets.)

A great place to stay. Neighborhood was very nice. Easy to get to from airport.

I was a little hesitant renting a basement apartment with people living upstairs because of a previous experience, but this place was amazing!! Drove right up to the same level entrance to unload. I stayed here for 5 nights with 3 grandkids, waiting for their new home to be ready to move in. It was very conveniently located to get them to and from school and any place else we needed to go. Bill & Barbara we’re so nice very attentive to anything we needed - she even had Rice Krispie treats waiting for the kids. I barely knew they were upstairs (hope they felt the same about us). I will definitely go back when I visit my family there. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful, Relaxing Getaway

This VRBO was one of the nicest we have seen. The neighborhood is beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting on the patio with the mountain view! Our host was very friendly and was always available if we had needed them. The unit is well equipped and very comfortable. Very clean! Thanks for a great stay!

Fantastic Stay in Maryville

Stayed here with my wife and baby daughter. The host Becky was wonderful to deal with. Everything was well communicated, the check in and check out process was seemless. She helped us understand the local area, was very friendly warm and welcoming. Located in a great neighborhood out in the country with beautiful views from the covered patio area, large windows and lots of light. Separate driveway and entrance are really nice features. If your looking to stay in the area this place is perfect. Close enough to restaurants and the city, but far enough out to enjoy the peace and quite of the countryside. 10/10 would recommend, will be staying here again.

Excellent couples getaway

This getaway turned out to be a couple's weekend for my spouse and me. This property had absolutely everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay! The mountain view is stunning and the porch area lent itself to a quiet study nook. The kitchen is fully stocked, there is a washer and dryer for convenience, books, movies, board games, wii, balls and frisbee available for kids. Becky and Bill have thought of everything. Communication was very good throughout our stay, and Becky even left us a loaf of homemade banana bread! We had such a relaxing time! Thank you for the excellent southern hospitality!

Wonderful place!

I completely agree with the reviews left by people staying there before us. Becky was very attentive and always replied as soon as she could. Also let us know of any local places she recommends for little kids. Her house was very clean and comfortable. It was the first rental we had stayed at that provided enough towels for our big family! We were pleasantly suprised by the delicious brownies left for us in the kitchen. Overall: wonderful, peaceful stay. Quiet neighbours. Beautiful view of the mountains and close enough to Gatlinburg to let us visit the mountains each and every day. Will be coming back!

Perfect Babymoon Getaway

My husband and I loved Southern Comfort! The accomodations were very clean and comfortable. We slept well both nights and enjoyed the privacy and comfort of having an en suite bathroom and spacious living room and kitchen. We will definitely consider staying here again with our kids when we come back to visit the zoo!

Southern Comfort Indeed

Southern Comfort is the name of this property, and it sure was comfortable. We arrived late in the night due to traffic delays putting us 4 hours behind. Becky (our host) left a couple of lights on, had an air mattress filled and ready to go and a nice welcome treat for us all. The next morning, we woke up to a beautiful, cool day and a great view of the Smokey Mountains. We loved the privacy of this place. A nice private driveway with a basketball hoop for the kids, that one of our sons really appreciated. Inside there is plenty of room, the carpet was so soft and clean. In the living room there is a huge sectional couch that is so cozy, several of us napped on it throughout our stay. Also, in the living room is a 55” TV with enough channels to keep the kids and even the adults entertained while dinner was being made, or for settling in for the night or waiting for the stragglers to finish getting ready for the day’s adventures. There is a full kitchen with a full-size fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker. The cabinets are stocked with enough dishware and cookware and there is even space to stock groceries for the week. The laundry room is large enough to store our travel gear and shoes and it is equipped with a full-size washer and dryer. Then there is the bathroom, it is huge with two sinks to make getting ready for the day quicker. The shower/tub has a detachable showerhead, which was a huge plus for rinsing off the younger kids in the bath. Along with the southern comfort, there was the southern hospitality from our hosts, Bill and Becky. They were so welcoming, kind and friendly. We truly enjoyed our encounters with them. They were quick to respond to any questions we had about the area. They really made our stay feel like a home away from home; so much so that I found myself saying “alright, let’s get home,” after a day of activities. As for the location, it felt centralized to everything we came to Tennessee for. It is nestled amongst farmland; and any direction you come from, the drive is beautiful, and it is highly recommended to do with the windows down. It is about a 10-minute drive to downtown Maryville. A 35-to-40-minute drive to the Smokey Mountains National Park (at least to the edge of it), you just take 321 straight into Townsend. In the other direction, it is about 15 minutes from Lenoir City and the lakes and rivers we fished on. I-75 is also in that direction, maybe about 20 minutes from the property

Spacious, Comfortable and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Our stay far exceeded our expectations. Becky and Bill are great hosts and made us feel at home starting with the fresh baked muffins that were waiting for us on the kitchen counter when we arrived. The property is in a quiet neighborhood away from city noises but just minutes from downtown Maryville. You park within a few steps of the private entrance. So peaceful drinking morning coffee on the patio while admiring the view of the Smokies in the distance and listening to the birds. This fully furnished “mother-in-law suite” is spacious, comfortable and absolutely beautiful. (We now have great ideas for our upcoming kitchen and bath remodel! ) The bedroom has a large closet, a dresser with plenty of drawer space and an oh-so-comfortable bed! We look forward to our next opportunity to stay with Becky & Bill and would highly recommend this property to anyone.

We absolutely loved this place!! Becky & Bill were very sweet people, and they had anticipated all of our needs! It was absolutely perfect! They had the softest towels I’ve ever used. The bed was firm but so comfy and we both slept great! The home is gorgeous and in a really nice neighborhood. There was so much we wish we had time to do so we will definitely be coming back to stay there again! It was spotlessly clean and smelled great! They had even left us some fresh muffins and snacks as well as brand new coffee creamer, milk and juice in the fridge. Perfect touches! We got quick responses from Becky through text anytime we needed her but they gave us our privacy and allowed us to enjoy their home like it was our own. We highly recommend staying here!
