About this property

Riverview Retreat

My husband and I have a wonderful artistically refurbished house on the river with a wrap around deck & open floor plan. The master has its own deck on the water. Private access to water for fishing.. We have 2 kayaks available.There are yard games to use in the fully fenced yard. Great hiking close. There is a fire pit on the main deck and wood solo stove below. Wood is provided. Great restaurants and shopping in Peoria Heights. Everything you need for a great stay. Enjoy a glass of wine on the main deck in the evening or a cup of coffee on the upper deck to watch the sunrise over the water in the morning. Your request to book MUST include a message with information, especially if you have no reviews. MUST provide full name and address AND full names of all guests. This a a county requirement for a permit. Where are you coming from? Purpose of visit, vacation or visiting friends, relatives. Have you used VRBO before? If there is no message your request will be denied. Please read the house rules and confirm you have read when you message.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Absolutely no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property . Quiet hours MUST be adhered to.
All furniture or items put back in original place. All pet waste must be removed if you bring a pet. Pets must be crated if at the house alone and not allowed on furniture. Fees charged 4 stains.
All remotes accounted for and on appropriate tables. Garage door openers on desk. Kayaks in place upside down with oars. Grill cover on. Lights out. Fans off. Outdoor lights off.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Dogs must be crated if left alone at property. Not allowed on furniture. Must pick up pet waste. Not left unsupervised.
No smoking anywhere on property. NO ONE on property except registered guests. Quiet time 10PM - 8AM. Must provide names of guests. No 3rd pty booking

We were in town for a wedding and really enjoyed our stay at this property. Very peaceful setting on the lake. The house was very clean and thoughtfully decorated. Alot of time has been spent collecting items to decorate with. Would stay here again!

This home was perfect for our 2 night stay. Has everything you need and a ton of character. The artwork and furnishings were so unique and the view CANNOT be beat! Very clean and Kim was very responsive with our questions.

We had some trouble getting into the home with the keypad but the host was very helpful once we got a hold of her. The house is very clean and updated, our.only complaint was that there is simply too much decor. The house is not accessible for those with mobility issues, a step to the bedroom on the main floor. My mom had a hard time getting around with a walker. Showers are tight but beds are comfortable. Note...there are multiple steps to get to the river. We enjoyed the kayaks!

My family and I had a wonderful stay! Check-in was smooth, the house and yard were clean, and the home itself was beautiful. We really appreciated how much was provided for us—you truly don’t need to bring a lot with you. We also loved that the property is dog-friendly!The paddle boat was so much fun, and we brought river tubes and spent time floating on the lake, which was a great experience. The lake is only about 2.5 feet deep, so you can stand in most areas, but it is VERY mucky. I definitely recommend bringing water shoes.A few things to be aware of: we weren’t particularly impressed with the beach area. There were quite a few large rocks and sticks sticking out of the ground, so I wouldn’t consider that area especially kid- or dog-friendly. There were also a few spots where you could sink into the sand, and we noticed some poison sumac. Please be very careful if you walk down to the lake through that area.The hot tub was clean and enjoyable. There were quite a few spider webs around the deck and a little dust around the house, but nothing that took away from our stay. The beds were comfortable, which was a big plus!Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. The house had so much to offer, and we loved being able to relax, enjoy the lake, and spend quality time together. We would definitely consider staying here again!

I work hard to make sure you have the cleanest and most relaxing environment as well as fun items to enjoy….bikes, kayaks, yard games. Please come and enjoy this unique creative space we worked so hard on.

Why they chose this property

I’ve owned the house since 1995 with my first husband. He passed in 2015. The property needed a lot of help. I tend to be artistically inclined and drawn to the eclectic things you can do to bring old to new again. My current husband is a work horse and up for anything so if I had a vision of what I wanted he worked with me. I also have great artistic friends. The house became what I knew it could be and hopefully you will enjoy it. Come and relax, sit on the decks by the water, use the kayaks and bicycles provided. Yard games also and the yard is fully fenced. I am pet friendly for the well behaved pups. I July ask that waste be picked up and they not be left alone uncrated if you leave the house. I’ve provided a crate.
