Crystal Lake Waterfront Cottage with Private Dock, Yard, & Hot Tub

This vacation rental is located on the northside of Crystal Lake 3 miles from downtown Beulah. You and your guests are sure to enjoy the 110 feet of private frontage directly on the lake with a large and deep side yard; plenty of space for kids and guests to play games and enjoy the views. A fire pit and Adirondack chairs are close to the water and a perfect spot to watch the beautiful sunsets over the Lake while enjoying a fire by the water. The house is a short drive from Frankfort and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. A 40 minute drive to Traverse City is a great way to spend a rainy day! An abundance of beautiful, public golf courses are a stone’s throw away for the golfers in your group, and Crystal Mountain for those who prefer a spa day or a day at the pool for the little ones. A long dock with a swimming platform at the end is the perfect place to relax in the sun and cool off in the water. Water toys for guests include 2 new single sit on top kayaks, 2 paddleboards, and a hot tub that will seat 6. Additional items include use of lifejackets, free Wi-Fi, TV w/ sound bar, bath towels, and linens, a gas and a charcoal grill, and a clothes dryer. There is also a basketball hoop, bocce ball set and games and puzzles to enjoy. The main house consists of a newly remodeled kitchen with full appliance package vaulted ceilings in living and dining area that overlook the lake. There are 2 bedrooms on the first level with a full newly remodeled bathroom and a large loft with a king bed, futon, and a half bath on the second floor. All bedrooms have new beds, mattresses, and linens. Bed 1 – Queen; Bed 2 – 1 Full, 1 Twin, 1 Bunk Bed with a Twin over a Full; Bed 3-King Bed + a Queen Futon. The second building consists of a full bath which is great for a hose off or to use the bathroom when you are playing in the water or outside; you do not have to go into the main house. There is also a kitchenette with sink, extra full sized refrigerator, and clothes dryer. A large deck off of the kitchen/living area with picnic table faces the lake and provides beautiful views; below the deck a large patio area with room to play basketball, a hot tub and another picnic table/

Great place to get away and have some fun!

We just completed a bachelor party weekend at this property, and had an absolute blast. The owners were super communicative and left us a nice welcome package when we arrived. We made fires, enjoyed the hot tub, played ladder golf, and swam in the lake. The location is 20/30 minutes from the big hits - the dunes, glen arbor, and empire, so excursions are super easy. Will definitely be looking to return in the future!

My family and I spent a week here for our summer vacation. The area is incredible with so many things to do to experience Michigan. We had a great time. The cottage and property were great. It was awesome having the hot tub and the extra outdoor bathroom and shower. The lake is spectacular and we all used the kayaks and paddle boards. The owners were great to work with. We had a great time; lake was so clear and beautiful. The small-town feel was just what we were looking for. Close enough for some adventures in Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. The owner was available for any questions we had and left a nice little welcome gift. The bathhouse worked out great for an extra shower room. We would love to stay again in summer when water is warm enough to go in. 7 of us fit comfortably in this house.

Fantastic Stay at the Clough Cottage

We had a truly lovely family visit at the Clough Cottage on Crystal Lake. The kayaks, SUPs, hot tub, and basketball court provided constant fun for our family and the nieces/nephews visiting from adjacent Frankfort. The extra lawn space was also great fun for outdoor activities. You can also find shade to relax during every point in the day, and the hammock was always occupied. Crystal Lake is beautiful and very shallow until way out. Jamie was just lovely to work with, super accommodating, and the welcome basket a wonderful touch of kindness.

Wonderful week at the Clough cottage. The water is as advertised!. The kitchen was fully stocked. We loved taking the kayaks and paddle boards out. I would say the only issue we had was some no working batteries on remotes but we didn't watch much tv so was hardly an inconvenience. Thanks for the great week!

Although hard to convince yourself to leave comfortable lakeside living, the location is central to charming villages and day hikes/ walks that include breathtaking views and intriguing history. We loved the quiet, the expansive dock, the entertainment provided by talented water skiers and sharing parts of the day with flying and furry friends of all shapes and sizes on the feeder.

This property was very clean and offered so much to do right there. The lake was beautiful, the hot tub was a perfect addition and the campfires at night were enjoyed by all. The house was super clean and it was perfect for our family of 4 and additional two couples. We cooked meals in and ate out and the house had all we needed for our dine in meals. Great hosts if you are visiting this area - highly recommended.

Great cottage on crystal clear Crystal Lake

My family and I really enjoyed this cottage. The interior of the cottage felt like a cottage rather than a home, which most of our group really appreciated. The outdoor living space was great. The platform at the end of the dock provided a wide open view of the lake, while the deck and shore provided a more sheltered view with great shade. We were slow to take advantage of the boat house space. If you rent, I encourage you to take advantage of the space, especially the second refrigerator. Things to be aware of: Crystal Lake is quite large, and can get a little rough when the winds are high. The ceiling on the second floor is sloping, which was a challenge for my 6' 3" husband. The owners were great and very easy to work with. We would definitely consider renting this cottage again.

Our grandmother started coming to Crystal Lake as a young child; her uncle was Dee Pennington, who once had a Cherry Farm on what is now Pennington Park. Our father spent his childhood summers on the farm and lake and started bringing us here as young children. Both he and our grandmother instilled a lifelong love of all things Crystal Lake, which we now instill in our own children. Though we are a few generations of families born and raised in Cleveland, I now live and raise my children in Traverse City, and Jamie, who lives in Chicago, gets up here with his children as often as he can. We are happy to share our cottage with you and hope that your family enjoys the beauty of all that comes with it during your visit, making memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Why they chose this property

Not as populated as Glen or Torch Lakes; Crystal Lake has the same beautiful, blue, crystal clear waters as the others, just less traffic!

What makes this property unique

In addition to the unusually large yard for Crystal Lake, you can't beat the location. Biking distance to Beulah and the beautiful Betsie Trail that you can ride into Frankfort; close drive to Frankfort; close proximity to all of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park; short drive to Empire and Glen Arbor, a little further drive along Lake Michigan will bring you to Leland and the famous Fish Town and Suttons Bay; close to the many vineyards that inhabit both Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas; approximately 40 minutes to Traverse City; less than 10 minutes to Crystal Mountain. Perfect location for either lounging and playing at the Lake or taking drives to beautiful, scenic parks for hikes and picture ops or historic little lakeside towns.
