West side of duplex. Close to everything, including the beach! Easy beach access across street. Cross at the Stop Light right outside! Awesome, affordable. Location. Location. Location!

We do own both the the Night Heron, East Unit, and the Night Heron, West, Unit, or you can book them together as a 12BR, sleeping 36, as the Night Heron, East & West! Private pool PER SIDE! However you choose to slice and dice it, it will be a great stay!
BRAND NEW in 2021. High end features and furnishings. Awesome open floor plan on main level. Well accommodated kitchen with island.
LOCATION!
Walkable to Bahama Bob's, Hangout, so much more! Convenient to walk to ice cream, Island Outfitters (right across 4th street!), beverage store, Italian ice, and more! 10 minutes walk to the Hangout, 2 minutes to Bahama Bobs (we are EAST of Bahama Bobs). So close to everything, yet in your own private duplex, whether you rent one side, or both, you get your own private pool (TWO if you rent both sides!). No sharing unlike condos etc!
POOL?
You bet. Private PER SIDE! EACH UNIT has its OWN private pool. No sharing.
Added a propane gas pool heater, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 82' (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a per night surcharge for length of stay (gas is expensive right now, this does not actually recoup the cost!). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. Any online quote will show the optional fee and its current pricing. You may also add it after booking by simply requesting the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and at least a few days before check in so we can get it on before you arrive. See our FAQ about heatable pools too.

EXTRA FRIDGE
We added an extra fridge in an outside storage area. Pull up, unload. Done. Need a beverage while at the pool? Walk over to your fridge without having to trek inside. Full size extra fridge!
BEACH ACCESS
Beach access could not be easier! The 4th Street public beach is right across the street. How do you get there? Walk out the door, go to to the stop light in front of the property, push button, and cross the street! No crossing random places or getting yelled at for short cutting through private property!
PARKING
There is available onsite parking for 4 cars per side (2 under the side, 2 in front of the side). Additional overflow parking is available a few blocks away if needed and by request.
WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!
SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, GRILLS ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have both drip coffee makers and Keurigs as well.
No smoking please. No pets.

Why they chose this property
My wife's family have traveled to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Alabama for decades. I became a tag along in the late 1990s, so a Gulf Shores guy by marriage. One thing led to another and we ended up a several large, family-friendly, large group friendly, places along the Gulf.
What makes this property unique
Sometimes you want to be RIGHT at the beach, but not pay for being right ON the beach. Night Heron is the perfect balance. It is located in the middle of West Beach Blvd. It is directly across West Beach from the beach -- check out the aerial and pool shots -- and it has a private pool for each side of the duplex. Yet... it is thousands less per week than an equivalent home right across the street. Have some of those too, if that's your preference, but if you want to save some dough while staying in a great place, Night Heron is a perfect fit!
Oh, and its only a couple blocks west of Bahama Bobs, Hangout, Waves Grocery, Ice Cream, Seafood, and the Beach House Kitchen and Cocktails. Easy for an evening stroll, or a midday ice cream or beverage run!
