Every thing about the Lucky Dolphin will make you smile. You realize upon arriving that you are close to everything on the island. As you enter the door a wonderfully decorated beachy atmosphere makes you relax immediately. When you get to the top floor you look out sliding door and see a beautiful breath taking view of the ocean. The only thing left to do is put the clothes away and decide do I explore the beach or get a cold drink and do nothing for seven days


Spend your vacation at one of the nicer beach homes available in the Outer Banks. The Lucky Dolphin is located on Virginia Dare Trail “The Beach Road” at mile post 6 in Kill Devil Hills. This central location is just minutes from grocery stores, surf and novelty shops, cafes and restaurants. Visit the Avalon Fishing Pier, Jockey’s Ridge, Wright Brother’s Memorial, Putt Putt or play a round of golf and one of 7 fabulous golf courses.

While on the property you will enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean. Lucky Dolphin boasts two decks overlooking the beautiful Carolina Coast. You will experience breathtaking views. Recently remodeled, newly furnished, well maintained and cleaned, the Lucky Dolphin offers a spacious and roomy floor plan sure to meet your accommodation needs.

The beach access is located in front of the house, just steps away. This is perfect to enjoy family time or a romantic stroll. When the day is done, wash off in the outdoor shower that offers both hot and cold water. There is an area on the lower level for you to store all your beach gear.

Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back! The AC went out on first day, but was corrected by the end of our stay and we were fortunate it was cooler weather than normal. Great location and great beach view from the house!

Check in/out process was easy, pictures are an accurate representation of the unit/views. Easy access from the road, beds were comfortable, HVAC worked well, although it was sub-80° during our stay so I can’t speak for July/August weather. Would. Insider staying again next time we are in the area.

Wonderful homey feel

The beach house was great. The views from the deck on the 2nd floor of the ocean enhanced the stay. Although it rained most of our stay we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The convince of a beach access right across from us was great. Being with in walking distance of Target and other places was a plus. Many attractions were near by which was great when you have a 8 year old boy with you. We are planning on making this a annual trip.

The set up and location was exactly what I hoped for and was accurate to the website description. It was perfect for a family vacation, and so close to a path to the beach. I missed the part of the listing that we needed to clean before leaving, also checkout was at 10, not 11 as listed. Those were surprising but would still stay again as the views from the deck and the location were just what we wanted!

Family Christmas Getaway

This is the second year staying in this property. As usual Wayne is very easy to communicate with. Not a 5 star but very good. Could use a little TLC, but all in all very good. Location is great, short walk to beach. Good view of ocean from top deck. Looking forward to number 3 next year.

Our Family Vacation - Dad, Mom, Grown Son, Daugher, husband and two children.

The space was perfect for the seven of us. One bedroom had two beds so the grandkids stayed in there. Everyone had a bedroom and there was plenty of room in the dining and living room. You crossed the road and was at the beach. It was very convenient.
