We loved the location, the ease of getting to the center of Castine and to the beach at Wadsworth Cove. The house was very comfortable and clean, and had plenty of space. It was perfect.
Rose Cottage is quintessential charming old Maine!! The cottage is exactly as drscribed, & the owner was most kind & responsive. We were a family of 5 and enjoyed our stay as our needs were fully met.
This was the second time that my wife and I stayed at this wonderful cottage. It is a beautiful spot and we continue to enjoy staying here. The view of Thatch Cove, with the continuous cycling of the tides is very relaxing. This is coastal Maine at its best! We will be back!
We loved our stay at Constance’s cottage. The property was beautiful and we loved the proximity to the beach and town. Also, the greater Blue Hill and Dear Isle area is stunning. Thanks for a great stay!
ENJOYED OUR STAY AND HAD A BEAUTIFUL VIEW. SAT ON THE DECK IN THE MONING DRINKING OUR COFFE AND LOOKING AT THE THE WATER AND JUST RELAXING.
WOULD BOOK AGAIN.
My wife and I had a great stay! Castine is a good location to travel from to visit Acadia National Park north of our location and to visit many villages south of our location. All of these locations are on fjords attached to the Atlantic ocean. Our leased cottage was on a bay that gave us excellent views.
I loved this cottage, very charming. The only thing I had a problem with was the uneven walkway for my disabled husband. BUT…that was my fault for not checking if it was handicap accessible. There was a very comfortable bedroom and full bath on the first floor, and with a little help he managed just fine. The host was very responsive when we had a minor problem and all was well quickly. We loved being right in Castine, quiet but close to everything.
Constance is a wonderful host. We had a mix up on our dates for arrival. She was more than accommodating and helping us out. The house is clean, well kept and a wonderful location. We have stayed here three times prior and definitely will be staying there again.
We were so pleased with your property. We would live here anytime you need a sitter! Thank you for letting us relax and revisit old stomping grounds at MMA.

Refreshing and relaxing
Oh this cottage is wonderful!!!! We were all sad to leave! The owners have thought of everything and the views are beyond gorgeous. Our family lives to walk and we enjoyed many long walks around Castine and the beach. Great home for families and also perfect for a couple's get away! You won't be disappointed!!!

We hope you visit again and we enjoyed meeting your lovely family.
Constance is an exceptional host -- very responsive and very easy to communicate with. Her information-sharing about the house and Castine helped make our vacation so enjoyable.
The house is wonderful -- lots of natural light, a good view of a cove, and comfortable furniture. We could not have been more pleased.
Property was beautiful and serene. The interior setup is well thought out, beds and couch extremely comfortable. Lots of character throughout. The only thing I missed was a blow dryer and the shower could have used a better closure. This stay truly transformed my stress to peace.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in Castine. The home is very comfortable and we enjoyed the daily view of the cove from the living room and kitchen. We had everything we needed. It was a great home base for visiting Isle au Haut, and Acadia, and of course historic Castine (highly recommend the Scarlett tour around town) and the local beach. We also enjoyed walking the nearby preserves. Steven and Constance were great hosts, very responsive and helpful.

Thank you for the review and mentioning Scarlett! She is a red elongated, electric golf cart vehicle. Tours are provided by Castine residents who are all volunteers. Castine Touring Company is a wonderful addition to enjoying Castine.

Quiet retreat in a peaceful orchard
Our stay at the cottage was very peaceful and much needed. The apple trees surrounding the house created a lovely setting and made wonderful pies! The house was clean and comfortable for the most part especially the beds. We did find the furniture not to be comfortable and a bit outdated. However over all we had a wonderful stay and would stay there again.

Shirley, the heirloom apples make great pies and fried apples with cinnamon. Fall is a wonderful time to visit Castine and explore our area during foliage season. Constance
We three stayed at the house for five nights. Because we arrived late in the evening, Constance left lights on and house unlocked. There was a vase of fresh flowers welcoming us. We spent a day in Castine, a day in Acadia National Park, and made two trips to Deer Isle and Stonington to meet friends and eat lobsters. We cooked a couple of meals and ate breakfast everyday in house. Everything worked as well as expected.
We had a wonderful stay at this adorable cottage. The cottage is so charming with its wood floors and light filled rooms. The view was probally one of our favorite things about the cottage along with a little chipmonk who came to visit every morning on the porch to eat from the rose bushes. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The cottage is so close to in-town Castine with all it's wonderful history. We enjoyed grabbing a breakfast sandwich and a coffee from the shops and sitting under the covered picnic benches on the dock to watch the boats come in. The beach was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and it is less than a 2 minute drive from the cottage. The location of the cottage is also great. We were able to visit many other towns including Bar Harbor, Camden and Deer Isle to name a few. Constance and Steve were wonderful and friendly host. They made check in and out a breeze. We truly enjoyed our time here!

Our house sits 300 feet from the road. Between the house and the road is Maine Coast Heritage Conservation Trust property. There is some road noise during the day with people traveling in and out of Castine. The coast of Maine, like all of New England, is having a very wet and foggy summer. We make every effort to provide a clean, pleasant experience for the guests we have been welcoming to our home for over 20 years. Constance and Steven
The home is wonderful. Its cozy and has marvelous views of the cove from the deck. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need. It was a perfect layout for us. My elderly mother stayed in the bedroom on the first floor and had access to her own bathroom. My husband and I stayed on the second floor with our own bathroom. The rooms were flooded with natural sunlight and great air flow. We are excited to come back to Castine and stay again. We were close to town so we could see the sites and visit with our extended family. It was a truly magical week!
I highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Delightful home in Castine
We spent a wonderful week at this comfortable, welcoming home. The house and property were exactly as shown in the pictures; in fact we found several of the rooms to be larger than we expected from their photos. The house was very light, with large windows; the location was quiet and peaceful; and the view of Hatch Cove was lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable, as was the seating, and the kitchen was well-stocked.
An earlier reviewer commented negatively on several things, none of which we found to be a problem. The wifi worked well, as did all the appliances, and there were certainly no issues with low tide smell. The house was a typical rural New England vacation home; perhaps the reviewer expected something different but it was exactly what we had hoped for.
