About this property
Spacious 5BR Forest Retreat on 15 Private Acres Near Portland
Welcome to Cooper Mountain Cabin!
A Spacious 5BR Forest Retreat on 15 Private Acres Near Portland:
Set on 15 private acres of native Oregon forest in Beaverton, Cooper Mountain Cabin is a peaceful retreat that blends modern comfort with true seclusion. The home sleeps up to 12 guests across five bedrooms and three bathrooms and is ideal for families, multi-generation trips, and friends looking to unwind in nature while staying close to Portland.
Guests often mention the noticeable shift as they arrive: the road quiets, the trees close in, and the pace of the day slows.
The Home:
The main living space is bright and open, with large windows framing the surrounding close-in forest views. Settle in by the electric fireplace, enjoy a movie night on the 65” Roku TV with sound bar, or gather for conversation and games.
The fully stocked kitchen is designed for shared meals and longer stays, featuring stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a full coffee and tea bar.
Sleeping arrangements are thoughtfully spread throughout the home:
-Primary suite with king bed, private bath, and forest-facing balcony
-Two additional bedrooms on the main level
-Lower level with two more sleeping spaces and a lounge with foosball
This layout works especially well for groups who want to spend time together while still having room to spread out.
Outdoor Space & Forest Setting:
The cabin is surrounded by its own private forest — not distant views, but immersive, canopy-level scenery with towering Douglas firs and changing skies overhead.
Enjoy quiet mornings on the deck, grill dinner on the propane BBQ, or relax in outdoor seating areas along the wide gravel driveway where wildlife often passes through. During dry seasons, guests may enjoy the propane fire pit and yard games in designated areas.
-Parking is easy with a large concrete pad for 6+ vehicles, motion-lit entry, and keyless check-in.
Location:
Tucked into a private ravine on Cooper Mountain, the cabin feels remote while remaining close to everything you need:
-5 minutes to Cooper Mountain Nature Park for hiking trails & views of Wine Country
-15 minutes to Nike and Intel
-25 minutes to downtown Portland
-36 minutes to Portland International Airport (PDX)
Grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and Willamette Valley wineries are all nearby. The cabin also makes a comfortable home base for trips to the Oregon Coast or Mt. Hood.
What to Expect:
This is a peaceful, forested setting. Guests often see deer, squirrels, birds, and Steller’s jays moving through the trees. The home is professionally maintained for comfort and cleanliness, though nature is an inherent part of the experience.
Because the cabin is accessed by a private gravel road, a car is strongly recommended. Uber and Lyft can reach the property with detailed directions, and we’re happy to recommend a local shuttle service familiar with the area.
Seasonal Highlights:
-Fall & Winter: Misty mornings, changing leaves, and cozy evenings by the fire with curated game night favorites and a Pacific Northwest–themed movie list.
-Spring: Wildflowers bloom and forest wildlife becomes more active.
-Summer: Warm days for grilling, relaxing outdoors, and exploring nearby wineries and trails.
Guest Experience:
You’ll enjoy complete privacy during your stay, with contactless check-in and responsive local support if needed. Your stay is hosted by Echo, a local owner known for clear communication and consistently high guest ratings.

Why Guests Love It:
“It felt like our very own forest.”

About the host
Hosted by Echo Merrell
The first time we turned down the forest road to this cabin, we felt ourselves exhale, a deep, calming breath we didn’t know we needed. That same sense of peace is what we now love sharing with our guests. In 2021, we discovered our dream cabin nestled among the Douglas firs of Cooper Mountain and began preserving this beautiful stretch of native Oregon woodland. Surrounded by towering trees, lush ferns, and visiting deer, it’s become a place of serenity and inspiration. We’re honored to share this peaceful retreat with others who seek quiet, comfort, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Why they chose this property
We love nature so being surrounded by such unique older growth forest really resonates with us. We are hikers, love to ski and snowboard up on Mt. Hood, love making day trips out to the ocean but also enjoy the convenience of living close to shopping, downtown events and the unique atmosphere of Portland and the PNW.
What makes this property unique
Our family affectionately calls it the “Ewok House” for its treehouse-like design: living spaces above, bedrooms below, and balconies tucked into the forest canopy. The cabin feels completely private and surrounded by nature; when we first stayed here, we realized we didn’t even need curtains. A family of deer makes regular visits, often wandering through the orchard to snack on fallen pears and apples. Over time, we’ve come to recognize them by sight and they seem just as curious about us as we are enchanted by them.
