The condominium is a third-floor walkup, fully furnished unit overlooking the tropical setting of Olympic size pool and Activity Center. At the present time the pool & activity center are under new ownership and in the process of renovation. Sea Trail has two pools and a gym which are available to guest staying at the condominium. Sunset Beach is a short 1+- mile bike ride or drive from the unit. Sunset Beach has been rated by National Geographic as one of the top 21 beaches in the WORLD. With no one above you, this ''penthouse'' offers extra privacy and a balcony for a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail with sunset views. The kitchen includes an oven, refrigerator w/ice maker, dishwasher, new microwave, coffeemaker, and all the cooking essentials to make this a ''home away from home''. A stacked washer/dryer is located off the master bedroom for your convenience. FREE private Wi-Fi within the unit.!!!!


Sea Trail Resort: Within the Village of Sunset Beach is a premier resort known as Sea Trail. This resort is located within 1 mile of the beach and 1/2 mile to the intercostal waterway. It has over 2,000 acres which offer a variety of safe trails for walking, running or bike riding. Sea Trail includes three championship golf courses, Jones, Byrd, and Maples.

Accommodations: 2 Bedrooms 2 Baths: The master bedroom includes 1 king size bed, cable television, large closet, iron & ironing board, and a full bathroom with an outside vanity area and a built-in hairdryer. The second bedroom includes a two twin beds, cable television, coffee maker, & a full bath with an outside vanity area & built-in hairdryer. This ''guest suite'' can also be accessed from a separate exterior entrance. All sheets, towels and other accouterments are provided for your convenience. New flat screen TVs in the bedrooms. On the east side of the building is the 9th hole of the Dan Maples golf course.

Great location, very clean condo. We enjoyed our stay very much. Only draw back was that the activity center was closed ( no fault of Hank's). Hank even helped us unload our luggage. Would defintley stay there again.

My family of 5 truly loves it here! This was our second time staying at this condo. Always so well maintained and freshly stocked. I love the beach feel inside! Hank is the best host and communicator. We will be back again!

Great little place

Short drive to the beach, the owner is very nice! Only thing we didn't sleep well because the beds are extremely hard. Also the pool is NOT free, $10 a day for everyone 13+. But overall not a bad place!

In response to this review, I would like to explain some of their criticisms. In over 10 years of renting, I have never had a complaint of the beds being too hard, but I will look into the allegation. Wrist bands were provided for use of the pool and because of a recent change of ownership I make all guests aware that if there is a problem to contact me. I live a short distance from the property and was NOT contacted. I recently reimbursed a guest for the pool fee. After their check out, I did my usual review of the condition of the condominium. What the reviewer forgot to mention was that the doorknob to the guest bathroom had been removed and was poorly re-installed. I had to contact a locksmith to repair it. Also, in the main bedroom the door stopper was broken and left on the floor. It had to be replaced. I was unable to reboot the cable in the main bedroom and had to have the cable company come out to correct the situation. As you can see by my response, I had been more than fair with these guests, and I do not believe I deserved a three-star rating.

I met the guests for an early checkin time. Prior to checkin I was out of the area and was not able to adjust the thermostat until just before their arrival. I did initially receive a call from them and immediately went over to the condo to evaluate the situation. I told the guest that the air conditioning unit is 1 year old and if they have any further problems to contact me and I would call the Air Conditioning company and get someone over immediately. I called the next day and the guest told me that the temperature in the condo was comfortable. The guest never called again to complain about the temperature of the unit for the remainder of a week long stay. I have since had the Air Conditioning company over to check out the HVAC unit and was told that it is perfect working order!

Very quiet beautiful area

My family and I had a wonderful stay! I really loved having the personal interaction with the owner. Hank made our stay very comfortable. The staff at the activity center was very helpful and polite. My girls are 23 and 25 and we now have a beautiful grand baby so this was our first vacation all together since our girls were younger. We are definitely going to make this a yearly trip for our family vacations. We had everything we needed within a five minute drive. Thank you so much Hank....we will be back soon!!!!! Great Host, OK Condo

The VRBO description was not accurate - not a penthouse condo, the activity center was not as described, the restaurant was not as described; the quality of the resort is average - under new management; no sauna, no hot tub, the golf courses are not in good shape. The host was excellent in his attitude and communication; he did pay for our activity center fee and responded well to our concerns.

In response to this review, I would like to explain some of their criticisms. The activity center has just been recently sold to new owners and their renovations were just completed, therefore I did not have a chance to update my description on my site. If you now, go to the site, you will see that it has been updated. I also have included a quote from the guest. "Good morning, Hank. Thank you again for allowing us to rent the Condo this week. We had a fantastic time here at Sunset Beach. You have been a gracious, helpful host - we appreciate it! Thank you for taking care of the Activity Fee also." As stated in the quote I reimbursed the guest for the activity fee. Sea Trail is in the midst of an ownership change and the golf courses could be in better shape. On my site I make NO claims as to the condition of the golf courses or the quality of the restaurant. After their check out, I did my usual review of the condition of the condominium. What the reviewer forgot to mention was the below average condition of the condo upon leaving and moving of the furniture.

Needs some attention

The condo was clean but definitely needs some investment and updating. Kitchen was sparse and not equipped sufficiently. The a/c in the second bedroom does not work and needed to leave the bedroom door open for sufficient cooling. The sheets didn’t fit the bed and there was no blanket. The living room was not conducive for more than 2 adults. Overall for $800 I would expect much better.

This is in response to the rating made by the recent renter of my condominium. Thank you for acknowledging how clean the condominium was. I pride myself on service, comfortability and cleanliness. In response to your comment regarding the kitchen, this is an observation from a recent renter: "the kitchen is more than adequately equipped". I have had long-term off-season renters that have commented to me how they were efficiently able to prepare, cook meals and eat comfortably in the dining area. I have a 2-year -old air conditioning unit that was installed by a reputable local air conditioning contractor. I was assured that the AC unit was more than adequate for the condominium and consistent with all other units in the development. I have never received a complaint about insufficient cooling in this unit. The sheets are fitted to the size of the beds. I have a cleaning service that has never made me aware of sheets not properly fitting the bed and I have never received a complaint from previous renters. Do you necessarily need a blanket if the air conditioning is inadequate? There were blankets stored on the shelf of the open closet. The size of the living room is 13' X 18', which is consistent with all other condominium units in the Royal Poste development, and the adjacent dining area is 12' X 12'. The picture in the listing shows how the unit looks furnished. None the less, I hope you enjoyed your stay. I would ask anybody reading this rating to take the time to read ALL of the other ratings over the past 12 years.

Great location!

This condo in Sea Trail was clean, spacious, with a full kitchen and very conveniently located for golf outings, a short drive to the beach, Calabash & Little River, SC. We were able to walk to dinner options in and outside Sea Trail. The pool & activity center was right across the lot from the condo and the restaurant ‘House’s Place’ has an amazing chef and a great menu! Highly recommend!!!!

Great Stay at Sea Trail

Owner Hank is very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and responsive. The top, third floor condo is clean, spacious, and quiet. We had everything we needed. There is a clubhouse with a good restaurant and pool across the street that Hank gave us access to. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice. Beach is very close. We had a wonderful stay. We recommend this place. We would stay here again.

Great condo at the beach

I gave this a 5 star review for a reason. Hank is a great host and very great communicator. The condo is very clean, spacious, and has everything you need for a stay at the beach. The condo is close to the beach (5 min drive), local restaurants, and other amenities in town. The condo is right across the street from the Sea Trail activity center where you can pay to use the pool. Overall, great condo and we will stay there again.

3 Day Getaway

We booked this property for a 3 day getaway and it was perfect! Minutes drive from the beach and pier. The onsite pool and restaurant were a plus as well. There is a fee to use the pool but for all day it is only $25 for the family, so very reasonable. Would definitely stay here again.

My family and I have been to quite a few places, sometimes alone and sometimes with the entire the family. Often times the places we stay are not as clean as expected, failed communication and the list goes on. This recent stay exceeded all expectations and if our yearly action spot turns out to be here, this will be our go to place for now on. I can’t rave enough about our overall experience.
