About this property

Lux Sioux Tipi near Bass Lake & Yosemite

Perfect, adventurous getaway for couples, or families - kids will LOVE this! Comforts of a house, but so much more fun! We created this unique experience to unplug from stress, rediscover serenity, for quality time with family, & reconnection with nature. Truly is glamping at its very best.
Perfectly located, only 10 min. from Bass Lake and 40 minutes from Yosemite.
Experience a custom version of the tipi that was featured in "Dances with Wolves" (by Nomadic Tipi Makers)

The tipi (Teepee in English) provides a generous 530 sqft area, complete with the comforts of a full bathroom, including a claw foot bathtub, two queen size beds, a reading area, coffee & tea station. The kitchen area is equipped with a mini-fridge, sink, toaster, dishes, glasses, kitchen sink, pot, pan, instant hot water kettle, griddle for the BBQ, and basic spices.

Of course, the outside deck is equipped with a BBQ, Brasilian hammock, a water feature, and features beautiful mountain views.

We cater to guests that are allergic to pets, plus there is lots of wildlife (deer) which would cause any dog to bark and interrupt the peace and quiet of others - please don't ask to bring yours.

There is no wifi or TV, providing a break from the office and focusing on what matters in life.

Guests can park directly by the tipi.

The property is shared with the main house, about 150 yards away, and our classic 1968 Airstream in the glamping spot next to the tipi. Guests are welcome to explore the property, but please always give privacy to other guests and be mindful of your noise levels.

Fun and unique stay
We loved our stay. Everything was wonderful however, we left a day early due entirely to the lack of air conditioning and 90+ degree weather. We wanted nothing more than to spend the day here decompressing and watching the day go by after a week with family but could not becausethe tipi was too hot and no enough shade outside.

Teepee Adventure
If you love living life a little differently the Teepee is an excellent one to tick off the bucket list. What we loved: - unique and quirky stay. - attention to detail. - the hand-painted Teepee and its eagle design is awesome. - glamping at its finest. - all facilities you need to relax. Things to be aware of: - get's really hot inside the Teepee. - close to the road so can hear trucks. - close to the airstream [luckily no one staying whilst we were there. - it may be 40mins to Yosemite park entrance, but nearly an hour from the entrance to Yosemite village [1.5hours from Teepee each way]. - can hear people in main house when they are entertaining on the balcony. Thank you for the experience guys.

About the host

Hello,

we are a family from southern California (and Germany) and we exclusively stay in vacation rentals on our travels. We like the personal touch each owner gives to their place and usually enjoy a much cleaner environment than most hotels can offer. We also love getting up and making our own breakfast, without having to get ready for the day first, allowing for each family member to finally sleep at their own pace on vacation. Having the choice to go out for any meal and entertainment, or simply staying 'home' adds to the freedom, enjoyment, and especially important these days, savings. We take pride that all of our own vacation rentals are equipped with everything necessary to enjoy a comfortable stay and things we usually miss in other vacation rentals. These include simple things like coffee, tea, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, towels, linens...

We hope you enjoy your home away from home as much as we do, in Los Angeles, or Yosemite/Bass Lake!

Cheers,
Lars & Sunday

Why they chose this property

We just love the perfect location of this property. Only minutes away from town with all the amenities and fantastic restaurants, as well as minutes from Bass Lake, water sports, and some of the best hiking in, what we consider the most beautiful national park in the US, Yosemite. The wonderful neighbors and friendly people in general plus ABSOLUTE quiet in the middle of beautiful nature views, allow you to completely relax - or stay busy for weeks.

What makes this property unique

It's a real Tipi - how cool and unique is that!?
