IOP Family Beach House-pool/bikes/golfcart/pingpong/corn hole/beachgear/foosball
Our three bedroom, three bath home with a swimming pool(45'x13') is located in a quiet neighborhood lined with live oak trees and palms. We have lovingly maintained and renovated our home to provide everything you could possibly need for your vacation at the beach. All you need to pack are your clothes! We are an 8-10 min. walk from the beach and there is a golf cart provided, free of charge, as well as beach equipment & lots of sports gear ($1500+ value).
There is a large front porch with ceiling fans, for you to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as well as a very large back deck with tables, chairs & grill and a pool deck with furniture. There is an open living/dining/kitchen area with seating for up to 14. The comfortable living room has two sofas, two club chairs and a rocker. A large TV with Roku, (including Netflix, Amazon Prime, ESPN, etc.). There is a wide variety of books, DVD's, indoor board games & card games for the family to enjoy.
The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, toaster, Keurig K-Duo coffee maker(starter pods and coffee beans provided), as well as microwave and toaster. The stove/oven has a double oven and includes a convection & air fryer combo. There is a full array of pots, pans, cutlery, dishes & serving pieces. Kitchen linens, detergents provided as well as starter flour, sugar, spices, etc. There is a laundry room with full-sized washer & dryer and laundry detergent provided.
All linens, towels and beach towels are provided as well as soap, shampoo & paper products.
There are 3 bedrooms, plus a sitting room with a full-size sofa bed. Two bedrooms have full ensuite bathrooms. The MBR has a King bed. The Queen bedroom has the adjoining sitting room. The third bedroom has two Twin XL beds & a full bath just across the hall. Each bedroom has a smart TV. There is also a full futon and a single futon available, as well as a small crib.
The garage area downstairs will accommodate up 2 cars and there is parking in the driveway for 2 additional cars. We have provided all the beach paraphernalia - beach chairs, umbrellas, Shibumi beach canopy, beach wagon and 4 boogie boards for your use. A downstairs shower with hot water & clothes line for your wet bathing suits. We also have various sports equipment for your enjoyment - ping pong table, corn hole, spike ball, crocket set, foosball, pickle ball paddles/balls for 4, five adult bikes, 2 youth bikes. A golf cart is provided for your use...all of this at no extra cost to you!
Available on the island are tennis & pickle ball courts, golf course, basketball court soccer & baseball fields, canoeing, surfing, paddle boarding, wind-surfing, fishing and a marina, as well as a myriad of restaurants, a Harris Teeter grocery store and a convenience store/gas station. Target, Walmart and Costco are within 5 miles, as well as the Town Centre shopping center & restaurants.
We do offer some discounts as well: a 10% military discount for active-duty & retired military personnel and a 10% discount for those booking 7 days or longer (not to be combined). We also offer early-bird and last-minute discounts as well as Expedia member-only discounts.
A few important notes of which to be aware: NO HOUSE PARTIES. NO SMOKING. NO PETS. No exceptions! There is a very strict noise ordinance policy on the island that goes into effect at 10pm on weeknights and 11pm on weekend nights. The 4 car limit is also strictly enforced. This house is a family rental and is located among year-round residents. This is not a rental home for bachelor/bachelorette events, wedding groups, youth groups, fraternities/sororities, receptions, or any other types of larger gatherings. We do NOT rent to students or anyone under the age of 30 - no exceptions - even if a parent or legally responsible adult makes the reservation.

About the host
Hosted by Ceil and Dave Bruner
We moved to the Charleston area in 1992, stationed here with the U.S. Navy. South Carolina is home to us and we were happy to move close to our family as we started our own family. We fell in love with the Island and bought our home here. We were looking for a quiet, family-friendly town in which to raise our two children, but close enough to the mainland and the city to enjoy the many benefits offered. We were transferred again after 3 wonderful years but kept our home until we returned here in 2002, after 20 years of Navy life. We've lived and traveled in various places all around the globe and it was during our international travel that we first became acquainted with VRBO as guests. During our second careers (Dave as a pastor of international outreach at a local church) we are also doing lots of international travel and have continued to use VRBO as guests. After becoming "empty-nesters" we've decided to become hosts ourselves and share our special Island home with others.
Why they chose this property
We love the island feel of our neighborhood - all the trees and foliage, the birds and even the sound of the ocean on special evenings. We also love the quiet family atmosphere where neighbors visit with one another and enjoy the outdoor activities. It's a slow-paced, small-town feeling here.
What makes this property unique
The Isle of Palms is unique in that it is primarily an owner-occupied town. Although there are many vacation homes here, most residents live here year-round. You get that feel of an island vacation spot, but also the quiet, family-friendly atmosphere. The Isle of Palms is also unique in that the city of Charleston is merely a 15 minute drive away - you are able to experience the best of both worlds!
