About this property

Cozy cabin with a view 1 mile from downtown Clayton

This cute, comfy cabin is secluded enough that you'll feel like you're away from it all, but super close to restaurants, shopping, hiking, and more (War Women Dell, Black Rock Mountain, Talullah Gorge, Lake Burton, and Lake Rabun are all a 30-minute drive or less).

There are 2 bedrooms (king and queen beds) each with its own bath, a deck with ample seating, a fully stocked kitchen, plus a fireplace, grill, and a garage/rec room with a pool table, cornhole, darts, and couches. We've got plenty of games and books, too.

Kick back and relax on the deck or head to town to enjoy great shopping and eating.

Perfection
Everything we needed! Absolutely loved everything about this cabin! The cozy couch on the porch was my favorite! The game room in the basement was a fun bonus. Perfect distance from town to feel like you’re in the mountains, but just a hop, skip, and a jump from town!

Cozy & Convenient with a nice view!
Everything about our experience here was pleasant and enjoyable! The host is incredible with communication and helpful with recommendations for the area. The house has everything needed and some. A game of pool table was our favorite after a day outside hiking. Downtown Clayton is super convenient and quaint. Easily walkable and free parking. The shops were lovely and the local food was tasty. So many neighboring towns with fun places to explore too! We recommend black rock mountain for hiking and overlooks, but the sunsets behind the mountain so it’s best in the morning. Only word of caution is to be prepared for the winding roads around the area and closing time of the shops. Enjoy!

Fishing and relaxation
Staying at the cabin was wonderful. The property was close to dining, shopping, hiking and fishing. Drove to the botanical gardens and enjoyed the flowering rhododendrons and wild azaleas. Hiked Black Rock Mountain and found out we’re not as young as we used to be. The main purpose of the trip was fly fishing and it turned out great. Went with Kyle, from Bowman Fly Fishing, and caught numerous trout. The cabin was more than what shows on the listing and the bed, which is one of our needs, was extremely comfortable. Jen was more than accommodating and went out of her way for questions. Will stay again, if coming that way.

Perfect
All the little things were taken care of. If this is the case, you know the big things will be perfect. Felt like home, no complaints at all.

Perfect!
This place is perfect. Comfy, clean and convenient. Lot's to do in the area and also a great place to do nothing! Hope to go back! Note: If you struggle with stairs this might not be the best place for you. But the view is sweet!!

Robb and Jen have been married for 10 years and have 3 kids ages 17 to 21. Robb is a VP of Sales in the data and construction world; Jen is a freelance writer/editor. We live full time in Atlanta but have dreamed about owning a mountain getaway for years. COVID and the unavoidable certainty of soon being empty nesters spurred our search until we found the perfect cabin in Clayton.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property when we saw it. It was cozy, comfy, and just the perfect size. We love the stone fireplace, the pitched wood ceiling, and the beautiful sunsets from the deck. We love that we’re so close to town and all its amenities (hello Ingles and coffee shops!) while still feeling like we’re away from it all. We like how many great hiking trails and activities that we can get to within a 30-minute drive, but we also love just being able to sit on the deck, enjoy the view, and watch the hummingbirds.

What makes this property unique

We’ve got two kayaks and a standup paddle board that guests are welcome to use on nearby Tallulah Lake or Lake Rabun. We’ve also got a pool table, corn hole, games, and darts for your amusement. And did we mention the great deck and sunsets?
