The layout of this getaway could not be better, as large families or groups of friends will love the split-level configuration boasts a living area and bedrooms on each floor to give everyone their own space to relax and reminisce after full days of adventure. When you want to grab a bit of fresh air with a morning cup of coffee or host a summer cookout using the gas grill, the covered deck will be just the place, as it boasts a large table and flatscreen TV. For more formal recipes, the full kitchen is more than ready to assist in meal prep with stainless steel appliances, plenty of utensils, a toaster, a Keurig coffee maker, and beautiful countertops. Don't worry about entertaining the kiddos either, as free high-speed WiFi is available throughout the home and the downstairs living area is home to a foosball table to indulge in a bit of friendly competition!

The Overlook Dog Park is for paid members only. You can’t step over the fence to utilize this dog park. There is a smaller, free dog park behind the cluster mailboxes at the back entrance (from Newland) to Land Harbor on Laurel Hills Road if you’d like to find a great place for you and your dog.

Great property for a fun weekend

Property was very well kept and gave us plenty of room for my wife and I, three kids, and our dog. Easy access to all the surrounding attractions, would definitely recommend to friends.

Great family getaway

We had a great stay at this cabin. There was plenty of space for my family of 5. The cabin was clean and well stocked. I loved the view from the covered deck. My only complaint was that we turned on one of the baseboard space heaters in one of the downstairs bedrooms and then we had a difficult time getting it turned off because there were no labels on the knob.

Absolute joy to stay at this wonderful, suitably-sized home in a great location at Linville Land Harbor! Enjoyed the covered back deck (lower deck covered as well). Very tranquil with comfortable seating, but the sheer pleasant view brought joy and relaxation! Access to lake (eg, paddle boarding), a fabulous golf course, and of course the hiking opportunities with our Husky whether the river or lake trail. We'll be back!

Perfect Mountain Hideaway

Cozy little cottage in Land Harbor that was a great location for us to use while visiting family. The house was nicely arranged and perfect for us and our pup. Plenty of room for others to join us. The only recommendations for improvement I would make would be to label the thermostats and add something about the Mitsubishi wall units in the instructions and to add something on the listing to indicate the house is on a one way street the turn for which is difficult to find in the dark.

Great place

Great place I would give A 4 overall but some family members were not satisfied with the cleanliness of the property. Everything else was great. The furniture is different then what was pictured as well. Check in process would have been great had someone answered the phone on how to open the door after the view was put in. We figured it out eventually but we were outside in the cold tinkering it while on hold for a while but no one picked up.

This house had every thing to make a comfortable stay from fully stocked appliances, baking pans etc in the kitchen to books and game for entertainment. The only drawback is the difficulty in getting to the driveway and parking due to the steep slopes necessary to reach this home We were very comfortable at all times. The two small issues we had, no ice in the fridge since the icemaker does not work and the ice trays were not good and no internet for 2 1/2 days. Vacasa answered my calls immediately when I contacted them and sent a person out for whatever I requested. Except for the internet. Not resolved ,.

This was a nice house, located close to lots of points of interest. The house is well suited for families with kids with the downstairs playroom. It is well stocked with towels, extra sheets and paper goods. Kitchen has lots of dishes and utensils, but needed more coffee mugs. Also, they need to get some new pillows. There was an issue with getting our place cleaned before we arrived. We only got a couple of hours notice that the house was not going to be ready for our 4pm checkin. We were told it would be ready at 5:30. When we arrived at 5:30 we still has to wait for them to finish cleaning.

This is a HARD PASS

This house was updated with the bare minimum. Who set these standards? From poor installation of towel racks that just fall off the wall to everything being outdated besides the bathroom and kitchen sinks. The smell throughout the house is awful. Door lock mechanism didn't work; spent so much time arguing with this company to send someone out asap so we could officially start our vacation. Door was never fixed so we ended up having to share 1 physical key. Almost no labeling to any of the light switches and good luck guessing which of the 6 remotes go with what. The game selection didn't even matter because the pieces were missing. The list goes on and on. Just save your money and look elsewhere. I always stay in VRBO's and have always had excellent experiences. Seems like Vacasa who manages this property has low standards so I will not be staying at any of their properties in the future.

Wonderful cabin in the woods

We stayed with our 6 kids (14-3) for the week of Thanksgiving. We enjoyed local hikes (Waterfall Park, Grandfather Mountain) and gorgeous views from all three decks. Our dog loved going on walks in the peaceful neighborhood, and our kids had fun playing at the park at the bottom of the hill. The cabin was warm and cozy when the temperature dropped below freezing and even though there were 8 of us, there was lots of space for us to spread out. We would love to visit again!

Mountain family vacation

We rented the Highlands Haven June 11- 18th 2022. Our week was really great. The house was exactly as we thought it would be. We especially enjoyed the pool and game room. The location is so perfect and there are so many close attractions to visit. Just wish we had more time! I highly recommend the cabin. We had a small glitch with the washer but called for help and figured it out very quickly
