Very hot the time we were there and took a while to get house cooled down. Would have been nice if AC and fans were turned on prior to our arrival. Other than the heat, all was well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. There are wonderful views of the mountains and it is peaceful to wake up to the sunrise behind the mountains. The property was very clean and nicely decorated. The hosts were communicative and had great suggestions for hikes, leisure, food, etc!
The highlight of this home is the sunroom and its view of the valley. The Perch is clean and comfortable. It's also convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway. My spouse and I spent most of our days driving along the Parkway and hiking on trails. We also drove down to hike Table Rock.
The Perch is a great place to stay for mountain adventures!
Our niece, her husband, and their 18-month-old daughter joined us for 5 nights. They are serious hikers and wanted to be near some serious hiking trails. The house was easy to find, far enough from the main road that we heard no traffic noise and close enough to the main road that we could be out and around in short order. The view from the house was even better than the VRBO photos. We spent most of our house time on the sun porch. The den was comfortable but it was hard to beat the view from the sun porch. The kitchen was well stocked, and we cooked breakfast and dinner for 5 days. The fridge was roomy and the stove, microwave and coffee maker worked flawlessly. We had more cooking utensils, pots, pans, and dishes than we knew what to do with. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms had large, fluffy towels. The host has a warning sign that the hot water is very hot. She's not kidding, so be careful. We ran several loads of clothes in the washer and dryer and never had a problem.Cellular service is a bit spotty in this area, so we're thankful that the house WiFi kept up with 4 adults during the time we were in the house.Travel time to Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, and other attractions is in the 20 to 40 minute range. Our host answered our infrequent messages within 10 minutes. I don't think I've ever experienced a more responsive host. I highly recommend this property.
Our family enjoyed staying here. The house is exactly as in the pictures. The view is beautiful and you can enjoy it from the screened patio or outside porch. The house is well equipped with everything you might possibly need. It is so peaceful and quiet here , a true retreat! Linville falls and caverns are minutes away. The winery across the street is phenomenal. We would definitely come back.
Beautiful home in just the right location for seeing Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, and the State's rock and mineral museum. That's where we took our grand daughter and we all loved it. House has nice view and plenty of room with large group areas as well as cozy areas affording privacy if wanted. Back porch was the best. Ate every in house meal there and played plenty of board games. We will plan on going back.
Thanks Megan for a wonderful stay.
It was a lovely stay for our family. The upstairs was a great set up for the kids and appreciate all the various things for them to do (ex: board games, coloring, madlibs). Nice big yard they loved running around in and rolling down, too. The sunroom was the best part of the house, and where everyone spent much of their time. The view was beautiful. Upper patio was a lovely spot to eat at and spend time. Kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals in the house. Staying in August, it did get a little warm at times in the house without AC, but opening the windows and fans helped. It was a a great location for Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, and a short drive to Upper Creek Falls, and Table Rock. The hosts were extremely kind, responsive, and helpful.
What a gem of a place! This home was just perfect for a weekend away with friends. Easy to access, great location for the hiking we were doing over the weekend and It came equipped with everything we needed, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, spices, etc. I loved the nice touch of the essential oils with a diffuser and The 11:00 check out was just what I needed. The icing on the cake was the view! Wow!
Our stay wasn't long but we were focused on playing disc golf at the New Cove Disc Golf Course (which was great!). Our stay was really nice at this place and enjoyed the location, views were amazing and the house was overall very warm and comfortable. It really was a great experience. Thanks.
A Beautiful location with a view of the mountains, which we love! We enjoyed the Blueridge Parkway, and went to the Linville River
for a swim. Also went to Grandfather Mtn to experience some
gorgeous views and cooler temps at the very top! Absolutely loved staying here.
This was just what our family needed! We went went another family and had the BEST time. We all live very busy lives and so staying somewhere that felt like home where we could relax was the absolute best. The sunroom is HEAVENLY - I spent every morning soaking in the warmth of the day and we spent every night there playing games while the kiddos slept inside. It was a dream! The house is great with so many sweet touches that you don’t find at vacation homes… blankets, spices, fun stuff for the kiddos. Megan was so helpful… we got snow when we came and she made sure we had everything we needed. The trip was so great!
Tastefully decorated, clean and come mountain home with a killer view
This mountain home is easily accessible, well stocked , clean and super adorable! We didn't need to bring anything but food . The beds are comfortable and the the view can't be beat. We'll definitely come back.
We had an amazing time staying at the Perch and felt at home the second we arrived. The house was extremely clean, cozy and everything we needed was provided right down to fresh fire wood. Plenty of space, incredible views and Megan was extremely helpful in suggesting near by hikes and restaurants. Linville Falls winery is walking distance from the Perch -- super fun spot with live music and a food truck! The house is tucked away just enough that we felt the seclusion we typically love having in the mountains, but close to everything we love to do -- hike, breweries, local spots (Old Hampton Store is a must!). Looking forward to our next stay!
We were welcomed to a super-clean house & a bottle of wine from a local winery. Megan checked in on us and made sure we were comfortable throughout our entire stay.
We had everything we needed for our family and more. We enjoyed morning coffee in the sunroom with the most gorgeous view! The kids enjoyed the loft and games.
Convenient to hiking, skiing and the caverns. So many cool, local places to eat and explore. We went to college in the area, so it’s always nice to come back. This is the perfect place to play and relax!
One of the best mountain getaway properties one can ask for a workation
Megan was an absolute joy.
Megan's fostered the place's vibe to become an excellent retreat location, perfect for my team's work getaway.
The house was gorgeous, very spacious, clean, very well stocked, and our team greatly appreciated the light vintage feel of the décor.
Megan provided a great list of recommended places to visit, such as Bynum Bluff Trailhead, which was only 10 min away.
Overall, a great stay, perfect work getaway trip.
I will be sure to book from Megan again!
