The River Lodge

At this beautiful home for all seasons on the banks of the Moose River, you can take out your snowmobile right from the property or spend summer days barbecuing, lounging on the lawn, and dangling your feet in the river's cool waters.

This riverfront home is ideally situated between Moosehead Lake and Brassua Lake on the Moose River that connects them. The rustic, log-cabin exterior conceals a truly unique interior - one that's full of exposed beams, lofty ceilings, and richly hued natural wood. To one side of the great room is a living area with ample seating, a flatscreen TV, and a glass door that connects to the screened-in porch. To the other side is a dining room table for eight, where you can share meals overlooking the river, and a kitchen with a peninsula breakfast bar, a stainless steel refrigerator, and an adjacent utility room that houses the washer/dryer.

But it's the great outdoors that beckon here. There's a small floating dock on the river for swimming and kayaking, a gas grill and outdoor seating on the lawn, a hammock tied to the trees for afternoon naps, and two bikes to take out around the neighborhood. At the end of the day, you can roast marshmallows around the firepit, finish a puzzle upstairs in the loft, or head downstairs for a game of bumper pool.

Great riverside lodge
LOVE this house and location. Amazing home and fully stocked for any kind of meal or family gathering. Only 2 concerns I had from this stay. 1. The mattresses could really be updated with med form memory foam. (10 inches +) which would make the sleeping so much better. The mattresses are really soft and uneven which is easily addressed with the memory foam toppers?) 2. The Wi-Fi speed was way slower this year. I could not get more than 8mb download and 3mb upload. This made working on video undoable and requires us to go to friends homes to complete critical work calls. Like I mentioned, the home is absolutely beautiful and very well decorated and equipped for a great stay. The beds and Wi-Fi seriously hurt us this time, so unfortunately we won’t plan on coming back. Sincerely, Jack

A grand log home on a stunning river
This is a beautiful home on a gorgeous lot. Very little noise, even on the 4th of July, but that’s about as loud as it gets with fireworks and festivities. It seemed like the grand finales we’re all done by 9pm. The home is furnished like a north woods ski/hunt lodge, it’s well kept with spacious rooms and large windows all around. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots pans, tons of spices and really anything you would need to cook for a crew. The laundry room is also spacious and well stocked for any laundry loads. The loft area is a gem, and it’s open to the dining and great rooms. It has the feel of a luxurious tree house. If you have teenagers, or adults who a act like teenagers, they’ll claim this space immediately. When temps rose into the high 70s & low 80s we just opened the fist and 2nd floor windows and set a fan in the loft to push out warmer air. The house was cool in 10 minutes and folks slept comfortably and soundly. For folks that fish, the home is above the red markers m, so it’s fly fishing only. If that’s how you prefer to fish, this is a truly magical place to stay, relax, fish and cook with friends and family.

Well-stocked and cozy
Super-clean, well-stocked kitchen, and nice quiet area. I'm not wild about carpet but this was nice to come home to at night. I loved the upstairs loft area—for reading and games on rainy days. It made me wish we were there longer so we can fully utilize and enjoy it. The garage access was helpful...and while we didn't get to use the firepit, it's a great touch. One note: bring water shoes. We had some lovely days paddleboarding from the dock, but the water was somewhat low. We had to walk the boards out to the deeper water, and the rocks provided tricky and slippery for bare feet.
