Located in Westerly RI, this charming cape is 3.5 miles from Misquamicut Beach and the beaches of Watch Hill Rhode Island. Near golf, kayak rentals, and 1 mile from the center of Westerly's quaint New England Main Street America town featuring famous Wilcox Park, Granite Street Theatre, Shakespeare in the Park, RiverFire and more.

Atmosphere: This cottage is not luxurious- it is well-loved. It is a rustic cape cottage near everything that families have used for years as a flophouse going to and returning from the beach. It has all of the original wood cabinetry and charm of a New England cottage in a coastal town. Second bathroom in basement is rustic and intended for washing sand off from the beach. This is the kind of place my family likes to say 'it's ok to track the sand from the beach into the kitchen' where we sit around all day on the porch playing cards with the kids, listening to music, grilling and telling stories. Bedroom rooms have air conditioning units. We hope you enjoy and love it as much as we have.

Hi Cyril- we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We have replaced the toaster which we were unaware had an issue on one side. Thank you for your feedback. Anne
House was exactly as pictured and described in listing- older home but nice, very clean and very spacious. Great location and fabulous to have the beach pass.

A lovely cape cod house centrally located and close to beaches, restaurants, and shopping. The house offers privacy and is in an extremely quiet location. The host was easy to connect with and very gracious. I would definitely stay there again.

Thank you Ralph! We look forward to seeing you again in Westerly. Anne
We had a wonderful week enjoying the nearby beaches and local attractions. The house was perfectly located for quick access to town and beach. It was very comfortable. We enjoyed the back porch!
We had a great time at this beach house. Plenty of space for my husband and two kids. Luckily, we had wonderful weather so mostly stayed at the beach, however the home comes with games, books and even ping pong. We loved having first floor laundry. This house is in a great location easy to get to the beach and rt1 for some shops and supplies.
The house was very nice and comfortable. Close to all activities and in a quiet neighborhood all the comfort of home. Will be going back next year an hope we can get the same place. Thanh you
House is roomy - more space than we even needed - which is very unusual for vacation rentals. Great location, near Westerly town and also easy drive to beaches. The porch on the back was wonderful and there's a big back yard. Comfortable beds, nice bedding. It felt easy to stay there, with all the things we needed. AC in bedrooms was great. No AC on main floor, which I worried about but it was fine if we closed windows/curtains during the day and opened them at night for air. One random thing - could not find a way to get outside water/hose for hosing off beach stuff, etc. No big deal though. Hope to return!
This is our third year staying in this house and we had a wonderful stay. We appreciated that some of the furniture had been updated and an air condititioner added to the downstairs bedroom. The house is always clean and tidy when we arrive. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient to everything Westerly has to offer.

Great beach week
Hot and humid week, but hanging by the beach everyday made it bearable and fun. The water was the perfect temperature and except for Friday and Sunday, mostly uncrowded. Boogie boarding is a must!
The house suited our family with plenty of room to spread out. The ping pong table and board games were a big hit. We thoroughly enjoyed the week.
This is a lovely house in Westerly. It's well equipped and has lots of space to enjoy. Beautiful gardens front and back and a nice porch.
We had a very enjoyable time.
It's got all you need, great laundry room and spacious kitchen. No dishwasher as stated, which was not a problem for us. Bathrooms were functional and the downstairs one worked well for post beach showers.
This lovely, comfortable house was a wonderful place for our stay in Westerly. Its spaciousness was most welcomed for our family of four, especially when one wanted to nap while the others played. The location was in close proximity to beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, town center, etc.. It was also equipped with pretty much everything you could need for a vacation home. We especially enjoyed the back porch both as a place to do some light business work and a place for meals throughout the day. Anne, the owner, was easy to reach and very accommodating. Thank you so much!
Once again, we loved our time in this cozy cottage. The space is clean and comfortable. There’s plenty of space and extras such as plenty of towels and kitchen spices that you may have forgotten. The location is very convenient. This week was the holiday and there were triple the number of people out than we normally see on our now 5th vacation to Westerly. Still, we had no issue with beach parking on the 4th of July and a lovely time was had by all. Plenty to do: bowling, shopping in Mystic/Westerly/Watch Hill, beaching, a day trip to Salem & to Providence, drive in at Misquamicut beach. We love and adore this house and are so thankful Anne was able to accommodate us. Btw, if you are concerned about lack of central air, don’t be. Fans kept us cool downstairs and the window a/c was absolutely icey cold at night. Thank you, Anne!!

Nice but not very accurate description.
It was very nice but some things were a bit misrepresented. There was only a/c in bedrooms. The house was also very old. The host communicated immediately and I appreciated that.

Hi Vickie- Every room has in unit air conditioning so I am not sure why you review that only one room had it? Each of the three bedrooms has its own unit. The living room does not. We also state in the ad that the house is older- you may have missed that. We love that it is clean and simple and you don't need to worry about sand coming back from the beach! It is from 1955 and has the original kitchen. The house is not for everyone so we try to be sure to have accurate pictures (multiple) in the ad. In any case we are glad you enjoyed your stay and that the rest of the visit was enjoyable! Anne
This cottage is absolutely adorable. It’s kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’d need for a stay. We cooked all of our meals here. We loved cooking dinner in and then going down to St Clair for an ice cream cone to watch the sunset over the bay and then taking a little night walk on East beach. Temps were in the high 70s all week and the house was very cool and comfortable. I’m very high maintenance but found the window air conditioners in all bedrooms to be more than ample. The house is in a quiet area that feels quite safe, very close to Stop N Shop. We spent one rainy day in Mystic Ct at the aquarium which did not disappoint. The home was very clean with no offensive odors or areas. We used the basement bathroom as a clean off from the beach and had no issues. The house has much of its original features which I found to be so refreshing and charming. I am desperate to get back to this house next summer. It was positively perfect, as was the beach pass. Anne was most hospitable. Loved this house so so so much.

Needs some work
The first and second floors were fine, but the basement where the 2nd bathroom is was very dingy and musty smelling. We had great difficulty with the outside doors not opening/locking correctly. One of us got locked out. After back and forth messages and calls, the problem was not remedied so we reached agreement to leave 3 days into our 8 day planned stay. While the property owner was cooperative in refunding her portion, we have had great difficulty with VRBO in refunding their portion and the state taxes. I have been on the phone with them 3 times totaling over 1 1/2 hours with still no resolution.

Hi Tim- As we discussed, thank you for your feedback. We had sent the property manager and the handyman (two separate people two different days) with a second set of keys and neither had issues. We could not replicate your problem in order to repair it -and no other renters all summer season had the same problem. I am glad we could come to a resolution and you found alternative accommodations closer to Boston for your conference. We are in the process of replacing all of the external and internal door handles just to be sure for next year based on your experience which sounds frustrating. We had no issues as well with renters all summer in the humidity with the basement. The shower that is in the basement is intended for cleaning off after the beach only, not as the primary bathroom. We try to make that clear in the ad but will add additional pictures based on your feedback. IThe bathroom will remain the same as it is not intended as a primary bathroom. We did our best to make the house fragrance free for you upon request in re: the musty smell. The basement is a basement- though a clean and dry one. We will make sure next year to increase our additional preventatives (dryrit and drylock). Thanks again for your feedback! Anne

Great space, location, and host; needed cleaning inside
The good: we were very happy to find this little house for a relatively reasonable rate given the area of Watch Hill. The back deck was great and we wish we could've enjoyed it more with the great weather! The host was very responsive and accommodated our schedule.
Inside there were some issues. The upstairs looked as if it had not been cleaned properly; there was hair of many kinds on the floors, mattresses, and pillows as well as the presumably washed sheets folded at the end of the beds. Downstairs, there was a large (2x3ft) wet area of carpet in the hallway behind the first floor bathroom, soggy enough to make an audible squish when walking over it. This may have been the reason for the mold/must smell throughout the home. The towels available in the linen closet were damp and needed a wash and dry before use.
Overall, we would not stay here again given the current issues listed. However, the location, living spaces, and outdoor area are great perks and would be worth returning to if said issues were remedied.

Hi Daniel- I am sorry to hear that you had a bad stay for your weekend. We were here with the cleaning crew the day you arrived and a bucket of water was spilled on the carpet in the hall. We did our best to dry it but apparently not enough before your early arrival. I can assure you the rest of the house and towels were cleaned. Hopefully, we will see you again so that you can see (from other reviews) that your negative review is an exception, not the norm. We have rented for over 13 years and never had the problems you listed and will be sure to note your comments and assure there is no issue. Anne
I loved the creeks, smells, feel of the house, and even the "creepy" (as my wife put it) basement; it reminded me of when I would visit the New England area when I was a kid. We cooked several meals and were happy with the kitchen supplies. Plenty of room to stretch out.
