Hear the ocean at Horseneck Beach from spacious family-friendly historic home
We are fourth generation lovers of Westport Point looking for someone to enjoy our home as much as we do while experiencing all the point has to offer: going to the beach, kayaking, canoeing or sailing, fishing, birding, hiking, wine and beer tasting, great seafood and music on the wharf, even square dancing. Refresh after the beach with an outdoor shower. Enjoy a covered veranda that runs the length of the 1840-built home, eat meals, lounge and read on the screened in porch, relax under a tree in the back yard, gather around the piano, or watch a movie on a 55 inch TV. Space to spread out--25'x25' eat in kitchen, 25'x30' living room, den upstairs and down.

We loved the house (6-star screened in porch!) and the charming neighborhood. Great to walk to the end of the street and eat outside at the Oyster Farm. Great hosts, too.
One note re listing accuracy; listing showed a grand piano (there was no piano) and a gas cooktop (which is now an induction cooktop). Listing should also mention to bring your own blow dryer.
We had a wonderful week!
No complaints, just little details.
Location is awesome, kitchen is very nice and functional. Lots of bedrooms. I like historical homes and this one is cool.

About the host
Your host
We bought a home here after visiting for 15 years, and we did that because my mom came here as a kid for years. We are very attached to this spot -- love the beach and the quiet.
Why they chose this property
We love the historic qualities of this home, built in 1840 by Captain Manchester. It takes us back to an earlier era, when things moved more slowly -- as they should on vacation!
What makes this property unique
Walk to the wharf for oysters or lobster boat watching; bike to the beach; friendly neighbors and townspeople.
