‘The Great Escape - Shirley’ is secluded and surrounded by forest. You will have your own Hot Tub. The Coach is a 40' luxury Coach that has an electric fireplace, large slide-out, Corian counters, forced air heating & 1 Gbps WiFi. There is a propane fire pit, BBQ outside, wood fired pit, with lots of wood. It has a Queen ‘Sleep Number’ bed, a sofa bed and sleeps up to 4. Has a bathroom, washing machine & dryer, is fully furnished & equipped. Bring clothes, food and enjoy The Great Escape - Shirley



At TGE-S, you will be secluded in the rural area of Shirley, just outside Sooke, on very quaint acreage with a large wooded area beside and around it, that you’ll be nosed right into the edge of it. The Coach is fully equipped with just about everything you will need. It accommodates up to 4 guests.



Lots of linens, dishes, utensils, appliances, pots and pans, a supply of basic spices and a new microwave, and fridge/freezer, with ice maker.



Cable TV, Netflix, Telus Channels with all the Outdoors, Documentary and Sports Channels, free Fibre 1G (940+ Mbps) Internet and WiFi, with ethernet connection outlets.



It has ample free parking. Is pet friendly, for dogs only. Do come and enjoy a stay at “The Great Escape - Shirley - with Secluded Hot Tub”.



The Coach is ideal for that private ' Get-Away ' and some relaxation time away. We love to host guests at our quiet and quaint property.

TGE-S is a short 14 minute drive to city centre Sooke, with many Parks, Beaches and walking paths close by. Shirley Delicious is but a 7 minutes away. Stoked Wood Fired Pizza is an 8 minute drive and French Beach is 9 minutes away. If you want to surf, Jordon River is only 17 minutes away.

Everything from supermarkets, restaurants, medical centres and clinics, drug stores, and a multitude of other shops and stores, are all within close proximity in Sooke.



There will be a $300 Security Deposit PreAuthorized on your credit card, prior to your Check-in.

Ian was a responsive host. The RV is a bit older but well maintained. Great place to stay if you like outdoor activities , while still being close to amenities (groceries, gas, pharmacy, etc) Looking forward to coming back!

The place was immaculately run from the introduction to every aspect of our stay. We could not ask for anything more. We slept on a Number Bed for the first time it was FANTASTIC. The hot tub was perfect every night. The amenties for cooking was excellent. They provided just about everything that you would want even a popcorn maker. The tv was off the charts with everything a sports fan could ever dream of, all Sportsnet channels, Nascar channels, all NHL, NBA, and so many others i can't list all of them. On a rating scale of 1-10, we give ot a 12. We traveled from Oklahoma, stopping in Several state parks including Yellowstone and Glacier and this property is the best. The gas grill was also great! 1 recommendation, pickup your grocercies in Langford as the groceries in Sooke is much more expensive.

Great way to experience the coast!

A really nice setup, lots of privacy and easy access to the hot tub from the camper. The camper had everything we need. Hosts were available without being invasive. Will visit again!

Extremely disappointing experience. At check-in, we were told the bedroom carpet was wet from cleaning but assured it was clean water. After returning from the beach, we found a large wolf spider and then two mice inside the trailer. A thorough inspection revealed mouse droppings in the cupboards, behind the sofa, around the trailer, in the door wells and INSIDE the cooktop, along with multiple mouse traps. There was also a strong musty/mildew smell.We contacted the host, and when Ian arrived, he was dismissive, saying it was a trailer in the woods and asking what we expected. The conversation became confrontational, and he repeatedly yelled at me. We have photos and videos documenting the conditions and interaction.We left that night and spent two hours finding alternative accommodation, costing about 500. The host initially refunded only 50%, but after reviewing our evidence, Vrbo refunded the remainder and covered part of our additional accommodation.We have stayed at many vacation rentals, and this was by far our worst experience. We cannot recommend this property or host. The rodent, cleanliness and moisture issues need to be properly addressed before this property should be rented again.

Quiet comfortable getaway

Enjoyed this property immensely. The outdoor amenities including the hot tub, BBQ and fire pit were terrific additions. Having laundry facilities was a great bonus. The sleep number bed and ambiance of the electric fireplace made time spent inside very comfortable.

RV & Hot Tub

The stay was great for our family of 4. We were able to soak in a hot tub after a good amount of hiking. We enjoyed the gas firepit while enjoying our morning coffee. We even had a visit from a couple of bald eagles. Enjoyed it all.

Our hosts Ian and Jodi were awesome. The family coach was very clean, organized and well stocked. Check in and check out very smooth, loved the walk through with Ian who demonstrated the use of all appliances, especially the hot tub. The hot tub was a great treat at the end of the day after exploring some of the local sites. It was my birthday and the hosts left a lovely bottle of wine for us to celebrate. Most definitely will return in the future.
