We had a fantastic stay here! Everything was spotless and well-equipped. The hot tub was a highlight, especially with our toddlers. The king bed was super comfy, and the kitchen had all the essentials. The host was sweet and very friendly, also super helpful when it came to recommending nice places to visit in the area! We just loved it, as did our children and would definitely highly recommend it to others!

A bit of paradise

This was a gem of a place nestled in a beautiful forest with exquisite landscaping. It was so neat and clean and very well appointed - we had everything we needed. It was a very peaceful place to relax and recharge and appreciate nature. There were lots of windows to enjoy the views of the lovely garden and trees. The location had easy access to a multitude of trails for hiking. The bed was super comfortable which was awesome for our aging backs! I hope we get the chance to stay there again!

This was by far the best short term rental that I've ever stayed at. It had EVERYTHING we could need: every appliance, spices, condiments, plenty of towels and bedding, super responsive hosts. There was even fresh half-and-half in the fridge. It was the quietest place I've every been and a beautiful piece of property. This will be our preferred vacation spot forever. The driveway isn't as bad as it looks. You can do it.

This was a wonderful getaway for our honeymoon — my husband and I were both down with a bad cold the minute we landed, but staying isolated was the easiest and most peaceful thing we could have done that whole week. The kitchen was well-stocked with supplies, and so was the bathroom with toiletries, the entire cottage was clean and fresh, and best of all was the privacy of the property. For anyone looking for a comfortable place to enjoy quiet, this is the place!

Home away from home

Very beautiful and private location but still feels like you’re home because the cabin got everything we need. Checking in was easy, just key in the code to the front door. The kitchen was clean, complete of appliances, utensils and fully stocked. My friends also enjoyed sleeping in the sofa bed. I also appreciate the owner for preparing a pack ‘n play for my baby.

We had a lovely, relaxing time out of the city for a family weekend away while my parents were in town. The grounds are very serene with multiple different seating areas, tons of birds, fish, a couple deer, beautiful trees and landscaping. The siting of the two houses on the property made the guest house feel totally private.The unit was also the best stocked vacation place we've ever stayed at, with utensils and appliances for anything we could think of. We had no problem cooking all of our meals and were grateful for the coffee in the mornings. Check in/check out was super easy. Absolutely no complaints. Everything was perfect!

Seventeen years ago, my husband and I found our perfect retreat in Metchosin—a place where the forest meets the sea, and where every day feels like a step closer to nature. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the quiet charm of the community, where neighbors feel like friends and the rhythm of life is set by the tides and seasons.

Metchosin is more than just where we live—it’s where we thrive. We spend our days biking scenic trails, hiking through lush forests, and exploring rugged beaches that stretch along the coastline. The beauty of this place never fades, whether it’s the golden glow of the sun setting over the water or the crisp morning air as we walk through the towering trees.

When my husband and I were looking for a place to call home, we knew we wanted somewhere peaceful, surrounded by nature, and with a strong sense of community. Seventeen years ago, we found exactly that in Metchosin—a hidden gem on Vancouver Island that instantly felt like home.
