Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear the home was a great fit for your family and that you had such a memorable time together. It was our pleasure to host you, and we’re always happy to help with any questions along the way. We ’d love to welcome you back to the lake anytime!

We chose this property because it was near our family’s home on the lake and because it could accommodate my parents and my siblings families. It was a great property, quiet with plenty of room and a large back yard.
We made a long weekend out of dropping our oldest off for his 2nd year at Wofford. This was a great location and space to spend some family time enjoying the lake and running out and about whenever we needed to.

Thank you and we look forward to your return! Such amazing guests!
We are long time friends (seniors now living in 5 different states) who have just enjoyed our 26th annual Retreat. We found the property in pur preferred 2022 location when we were together in 2021. Other than a glitch inputing our email and having to go through VRBO webpage, spend hours on chat because the conversation tined out, and then finding a phone number and more time getting rhrough to correct the input error, actual rent process worked well.

Great group, communicated well. Left our property spotless. Look forward to having them back
We rented this house for my son’s wedding that would be at my home. It was for the groomsmen. The week before, the owners started asking lots of questions. On Sunday before, while dealing with a health crisis for my younger sister and going back and forth to Charleston to help take care of her, they sent a message telling me that they may not rent to us bc we were locals and they were concerned about theft and vandalism. We had discovered that we knew the neighbors of this house well. I asked them to call on our behalf and assure them that these were great young men who were not partiers. He did that. Then they asked me to call them. I spoke with Sabrina for about 30 minutes. I explained to her that my husband would be there most of the time and the guys would not even be at the house much bc of all the wedding activities. After reassuring me that she felt good about it, they left a nasty homemade poster board sign at the front door greeting them with, “NO PARTIES, NO LOUD MUSIC YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF YOU BREAK THE RULES”. Also the carpet on the stairs was disgusting. They should not have their house on VRBO if they are going to treat renters like they treated us. They made an already stressful week so much more stressful than it should have been. I do not recommend renting this house.

Tracy please note that you booked our home stating 1 guest not 12 guest. The initial question we requested right after your booking with no response. You responded days before your arrival then letting us know that this was for a wedding with 12 guest not 1 and you also stated your were local. We have our policies and signage in place for this very reason to have good communication and to prevent parties, respect for our neighbors and to make sure future guest can enjoy the property. The policies were not specific to you. We spoke and I am very sorry for your stress but a lot of this was due to lack of response on your part from the initial booking and last minute changes. As for the sign this has been there for quite some time (it was not left for your party specifically) this was due to a lot of damage from a prior guest. As I said on the phone I am sorry for your personal family crisis, but this was out out of our control as property owners. From out last conversation we had a wonderful interaction. Thank you

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Such a disappointment!
Our group consisted of 4 adults (2 over the age of 74) and two teenagers. We chose this property due to its proximity to Lake Bowen; the size of the house, number of bedrooms and other features offered by the proprietors, as well as past positive ratings.
Positives: The house is large with plenty of bedrooms for a large group. There is a nice view of a small part of the lake from the upper deck.
Negatives: The kitchen is modern but there isn’t a garbage disposal, and several cabinets are sealed from use using a padlock/chain. Cooking utensils and measuring devices are limited as is storage. For a house boasting accommodations for as many people as it does, there isn't nearly enough equipment nor storage available to prepare meals for them.
The owners must not do any pest control as there were sugar ants all over the kitchen, multiple spider webs inside and outside of the house, multiple palmetto bugs and spiders inside. The home felt dirty: mold/dirty grout in the upstairs master bath; light bulbs out in the stovetop (which we replaced at our expense); surfaces were dusty; found popcorn kernels in the living room from a prior guest. Air circulation in the downstairs bedrooms is non existent. Getting down to the dock is hazardous/steep, so is virtually unusable - especially for those physically limited.
Lastly, we hired an attorney to help us recover a REFUNDABLE pet deposit that the owners refuse to refund, suddenly claiming "damage". Do NOT rent this property!
This was an awesome property. The view was amazing and the accuracy of the description was spot on. Sabrina was top notch in being available from the point of arrival through checkout. I would definitely select this property again. Thank you for making it a successful time with my family.
Our stay in this house was so peaceful. The view is gorgeous. The house was very clean and smells good. The beds were comfortable. The owners were very helpful and communicative. We would love to stay here again if we come back to the Spartanburg area. Thanks so much!

Jocelyn’ and her family were great guests. Left our home in great condition and we would love to have them again anytime.
The house is located right on the lake and it is beautiful. The house was comfortable for us 5 adults but was spacious enough for a much large group. The lower level was a whole other living area with a full kitchen. It would be a great choice for a large family or 10 adults.
This is a lovely home with a beautiful view of the lake. We stayed with extended family and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We had a great time challenging each other on the pool table, there were plenty of places for all of us to eat, and spaces for both the kids and adults to hang out (inside and out). Also, check in and check out was a breeze and the owners were very responsive when we had questions. The house could use a little TLC in terms of removing dust and cobwebs and the noise from the interstate nearby took a little getting used to. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. I’d definitely recommend this for a large family getaway.
