the Cape Lookout at Shore Haven affords elevated views of Frenchman Bay. Situated on Shore Haven's 7 acres and 650 feet of shore front, its natural, forested surroundings assure tranquility and privacy. You'll see eagles. You'll be serenaded by wood thrushes. You'll hear the calls of loons in season. The Cape Lookout is a well appointed, comfy cape style home with living space on three levels. It is 1,400 sq ft on the ground and upstairs levels with another 320 sq ft in the finished, fully appointed walkout basement. The year round porch has oversized windows overlooking the bay and it has a dining area as well as a sitting are that leads to the deck. The spacious deck overlooks the bay and the fire pit, with seating for eight, and the winding path to the shore front bluff. It is recently updated. It is fully equipped and well appointed. A large bedroom with a queen bed is located on the ground floor. There are two large bedrooms with queen beds upstairs, one of the bedrooms also has a twin. 5 skylights and 2 large windows in the gable ends. The 320 sq ft master suite is located in the walkout basement with its own bath. Both full baths (one with a shower and a tub, the other with with a shower only) are newly remodeled. About the host
Hosted by Peter Miano

After years of being a guest in other people's vacation homes on Mt. Desert Island, I decided it was time to become a host. It was a long search to find the right location and the right lodgings. I enjoy welcoming people to MDI, sharing our vacation lodgings, and knowing that they've enjoyed their family vacations while staying at Shore Haven
Why they chose this property
After a long search, I found a perfect location on the northern part of Mt. Desert Island in a quiet, secluded part of Bar Harbor. I added the Cape Lookout to the other three lodgings to make seven acres and 650 feet of shore front. The Cape Lookout is secluded from the others. You will enjoy elevated, long views of Frenchman Bay from the dining room and sun porch, the upstairs bedrooms, from the deck, and from the fire pit area which has seating for eight people. In spring and fall, you can hear loons every morning and evening along with a wide variety of other singing birds.
What makes this property unique
The Cape Lookout is in a secluded, quiet forest on Hadley Point. It is only a six minute drive to the nearest entrance to Acadia National Park and enjoys easy access to the rest of Acadia and both side of Mt. Deseret Island. The village of Bar Harbor and all it has to offer is about a ten minute drive. Within a couple minutes drive, you can enjoy some of the best lobster pounds around, the best location for pies and pastries, a few great restaurants, one of the island's best restaurants for pizza, and a bbq restaurant and that is just for starters. Or, you can cook just about everything you would like from our well equipped kitchen. There is also a gas grill on the deck.
