Thank you!
Pleasure hosting you and the lake im the summer is always amazing.
Though we are not boaters, we wanted a place where we could catch up with each other and this was the perfect place. Plenty of outdoor space for yard games and sitting around the fire. We had a great time.

Renting was easy and home owner was very accommodating to our requests to arrive early and leave late. Very quiet and peaceful location. Be sure to bring your own fun because if it’s not bodying weather there really isn’t much to do.

Glad your fishing was successful. You should check out local winery, and theres a blue berry farm and Duke University has nice garden and architecture
We had a great time at your property. I booked this very last minute and Lisa accommodated our every request. Being pet friendly was a huge plus and with dock access I was able to bring the boat and watch the fireworks from the water. I'll book again!
Great place to stay for relaxation. Wife has a stressful job and my son is processing for the Marine Corps. We wanted a lake property to just chill out at and this place was great.
Communications with host are superb.
Had a great stay, home was everything that it was advertised as, owner is awesome to deal with. Recommend this property very highly especially for boat owners, boat was in the water all week. 100 ft walk to the boat dock was awesome.
My husband, kids & fur babies thourghly enjoyed our stay here. We actually booked it twice this summer! The house description was accurate & the boat launch was right down the road. Having a covered boat ramp in the back yard made for easy boat rides. We will be back!
This home located on a lake in Virginia was so beautiful and allowed my 85 year old mother and 5 other family members to have a wonderful time with my Uncle. It is just as described in their posting and so well maintained! The area and neighborhood is safe and beautiful yard right on the lake inlet. Very comfortable furnishings and all the items included for a wonderful place to make long lasting memories!

We strive to make our guest happy and comfortable. Glad you enjoyed the inlet/canal.
We were looking for a place with beautiful surroundings and a quiet place to chill. And this home fit the bill perfectly. Love the porch. Only suggestion would be to put another gate on the side stairs to keep fur babies on the porch. Thank your for sharing your little slice of heaven!

A true family get away!
Our two families 4 adults, 4 children, met at this super cute and cozy cottage. We were very comfortable, plenty of room, nice and private, and the pontoon was key! We would recommend it to anyone looking for real down time with the family, it truly was perfect for what we intended to do. Only thing that we noticed, was the pool is a bit of a walk with a main road to cross, and the internet service was poor, and phone service was fair. Our family would rent here again and again!!!

Glad you enjoyed. We have upgraded the internet so signal should not be an issue in the future. The pool is a 5 minute drive. We walk in the country a lot on the paved rolling hill roads and love to like, but not to the pool Thanks again and we look forward to hosting you again. Lisa and Charlie
The property has 3 good sized bedrooms with a 4th bed in a separate room. Great for accommodating a lot of people. Having a gas fireplace and wood fireplace is a bonus. Decent fishing off the dock... But shallow, but still hit lots of catfish and bass. Note: this property is under a small bridge from the main body, so if you rent a larger boat like a pontoon, getting it under the bridge may be difficult

Nice location
The dock area was very shallow for our 21 foot inboard SeaRay. The entire house smells musty/ wet basement smell that was significant. The outside covered porch was very nice. This is a three bedroom house/ the twin bed is in the mud room/entrance and is not a bedroom. Kitchen is well stocked.

Thank you Greg, Plumber found our leak. Inboard are much better at Lake as outboard large vessel can swamp lake boats. Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice size place and clean. A great big porch to enjoy coffee in the morning. Brought our boat and kept it in the covered boat dock. Just walk down the sidewalk and get on your boat. Two minute ride to get gas for the boat. Its centrally located to everything the lake has to offer. We were allowed to bring our dogs, which is a plus. Has washer and dryer as well as everything you need in the kitchen. It is exactly as it is pictured. I would absolutely recommend and we will be back again.

lake house pit stop
6 nights lake vacation on our way from New York to North Carolina driving our son back to school, 7 of us, plenty of room, spacious and comfortable, lake is huge, water is warm, tons of fish - not much around but we are all about home cooking and BBQ and the house is well equipped for that, only neg. was the lack of phone reception ( did not bother me t all but the kids where going crazy without their phone ) we will be back, using the boat was a great replacement to the phone reception as we spent hours on and in the water vs. internet surfing - the is a hot spot internet service in the house. thanks Lisa.
My family and I had an excellent long Labor Day weekend here. The house was just as the pictures show. It was very clean and kitchen had all of the items you need. The covered porch is fantastic for the family to gather and the propane fire pit was a huge hit with all! I was a bit concerned with the shallow water under the covered dock, but my 19ft Sea Ray Bow Rider fit right in with no issues. The bridge to the main lake is a very tight fit, but with bumpers on both sides of your boat and a slow and steady pass it worked out OK. It is also very nice to be so close to the Marina for launching, fuel, and ice. Our Host Lisa was very nice to work with and communicated with me when needed before & after our stay. This is a great place and we had a great first trip to Lake Gaston!

Amazing House w/ Plenty to do & Fantastic Boat
I took my family on our yearly get together to Lake Gaston this year & we were truly impressed with this house. Not only did it have enough space for us to all (7+2 kids) to fit & sleep comfortably but we could have fit many more. The property was well maintained & we played out in the large yard with the kids all afternoon when we weren't taking out their new pontoon boat that drives like a dream out on Lake Gaston. The easy to use firepit at night was incredible to have some catch up time & look up at the non-light polluted sky to see the stars. All the little extras like cleaning supplies, sheets, cooking equipment was all there & easy to find. We found a few great local restaurants to eat at and a grocery store that's a little far (20 minutes) to get everything else we needed. I would definitely stay here again & I thank the owner for letting us spend some time there.

Vacation Cut Short
Unfortunately my family had to leave mid week, cutting our vacation short by three days. My Son and his family who were staying with us obtained massive amount of insect bites each spreading out on the skin 2” in diameter. They were so bad they caused two separate visits to the doctor. The rest of the family also had bites, but not as bad. Owner stated they were caused by chiggers in the woods; however none of my family stepped foot in the woods and barely stepped into the yard. The doctors stated that the bites were neither from chiggers or mosquitoes, and when I told the owner she stated we should change doctors. Her main concern was not about my families condition, but she was quick to state she wasn’t giving a refund. No where in any of my messages did I ever ask for one. I was trying to be nice and give her a heads up on the situation. After a lot of unpleasant communication with the owner, she did have someone inspect the inside of the house and she told me nothing was found. I am only stating this in my review just in case a future renter finds themselves in the same situation.
The house was clean when we arrived and as described. It was nice having the beds made. The pontoon boats are in rough condition, but it was still nice having one. We first took out the one parked in the rear not knowing which one to take. We found out while trying to get back to the house before dark that it had no running lights. This caused us to be stopped by the police and resulted in a very bad experience. We never took that boat out again.
The internet is very, very poor and to be honest if I was the owner, I wouldn’t even advertise that internet was available. My family’s phones by Verizon and AT&T did not work at the house. We had to leave and go to the main road to use the phone.
My biggest disappointment was that my family got hurt at a rental I choice and how I was treated by the owner.

I immediately, next day had the house examined. There are NO bugs in the house per local pest control expert. No bugs, I even went so far as recording this examination and sent the video to this quests. The profession being recorded with him Saying, "no mam, you have no insects within the house. The yard is sprayed twice annually. The guest sent me photos of chigger bits. Marshmellow stick left behind, tell me they were in the woods beside the property.
**boat use is during day only listed on rental agreement. Boat use is until 5 pm only, (i.e., before dark).
Pontoon photo is accurate, nice pontoon, not new, however but nice. photo on site taken July 2016. The running lights worked fine upon inspection. You do have to flip the Aux. button to turn the running light on. We checked them same day, they worked perfectly. I also have back up clamp on lights, just in case a light bulb does go out. They have new batteries put in each spring. I take pride in my properties and visit and stay on them myself, with my grandchildren I might add.

Not What We Expected
When we arrived, one of the first things we noticed was that the DirectTV did not work in the living room. We contacted the owner and tried some troubleshooting, but nothing worked. She had a new cable box delivered to us — it arrived the afternoon before we left.
The next thing we found out was that the beach area and pool nearby was closed due to Covid 19. The owner said she removed it from the listing, but it was there when we booked the house. That was one of the reasons we decided to book the house. All 9 of us (5 being kids) were very disappointed about this. This should have been communicated better to us.
Next, while making dinner, we realized the microwave didn’t work. I tried to soften a stick of butter, and gave up after 2 minutes. Also, my definition of a fully stocked kitchen and the owner’s are VERY different. The kitchen was seriously lacking. We couldn’t even find a bowl with a lid to store leftovers!
Our stay in Bracey, VA was a HOT one! We soon realized that the AC did not keep up. Even the days that we were gone all day and everything was closed up. We actually had to go out and buy a fan. There was one there, but we needed two, especially for the girls who slept in the “mud room”. The listing said that the mud room was recently converted to a bedroom. I guess if you stick a bed in a room it magically turns it into a bedroom.
Lastly, we were kind of freaked out by the “hidden” camera in a birdhouse on the path that led down to the dock. We found another one on the front of the house. I realize when you live far from your rental property, you need to be able to keep an eye on things. However, legally I believe that is supposed to be disclosed to the renters.
So after all that, I feel like I should say some positive things about the house...The beds were very comfortable, we never lacked for hot water, the covered porch and the fire pit area were very nice, and the lake was beautiful. That being said, we will definitely come back to Lake Gaston, but we will stay somewhere else.

We are sorry that your family experienced lack of microwave and TV in master bedroom. The week prior both were fully operational. I provides showtime and HBO in living room due to TV box in master bedroom failing.
The drive and my personal watercraft are being monitored and this is listed in ad.
AC was serviced and no issues found. You were there on a record breaking 99 degree week.
The beach and pool are no longer listed and you reserved prior to Covid. I should have notified you. it us no longer listed as We don't want to disappoint.
The kitchen has many bowls, plates, silverware, utensils. We have received compliments on how well stocked. Cellophane, foil and storage Bags are provided. Numerous glass bowls are in cupboard.
Direct TV told me box was delivered on your 3rd day of 7.
We are very sorry you are disappointed with the amenities and some communication would have assisted me in assisting you.
Thank you.
House was perfect for a stay with my 86y/o mom with master bathroom big enough for walker.
Outside porch with fan perfect for breakfast and dinner.
Pottery & other cool decorations used to decorate were beautiful and added a very upscale touch. Owners obviously did a lot to upgrade outside.
As described and emphasized in correspondence with owner dock does not allow access to water unless you have a boat. We had other relatives close by whose rental had an amazing dock with swimming and kayak access so this was not important to us.
We would definitely return.
Clean and spacious we rented a boat from Holly Grove and enjoyed the lake and easily docked at the boat house and enjoyed the tunnel of love, a great stay...

Recommend... but with a boat!
Our family enjoyed our stay in Lisa's house at Lake Gaston. Lisa was very attentive to our communications both before and during our stay. It may be a modular house, but it has some nice additions and updates like the large screened in porch and master bath.
Our only regret is we didn't appreciate better how difficult it would be to access the lake from the the property. We ended up driving a half hour to a public access area to enjoy and swim in the lake because we were only able to rent a boat for one day. It was nice having the canoe and kayaks, but we found getting in and out of them at the dock quite challenging. The photos made it seem like there was some shoreline for this, but there wasn't.
Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We sat by the fire pits, enjoyed wine and cheese at Rosemount, played in the lovely yard, and soaked up some sunshine.
Will likely return, but definitely recommend bringing your boat or finding a multi-day rental.
Overall property was terrific. Some dust/spider webs when we got there. Sheets were clean and ready to put on the beds we used. Towels clean and available. Fire pits ready to use. Only thing I found needing was a kitchen hand mixer for mashing potatoes/brownie batter. If ever back in area will use again.
