About this property
bright designer apartment with large balcony, next to Mauerpark & Berlin Wall
This beautiful, modern 800 sq. ft. designer/artist apartment in the attic (with elevator) is located on the very border between the districts of Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, and Wedding. In the summer, the sun gradually sinks behind the rooftops of Berlin at 9:30 pm. All of the main attractions, e.g. the Berlin Cathedral, the Television Tower, the Reichstag, the Synagogue or the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz can be reached by bike or public transportation in a few minutes.
Two separate bedrooms and a spacious, bright living room with large balcony directly at the Mauerpark! Only a 2-min. walk to the Mauerpark or the beautiful Arkonaplatz with the many cafes and restaurants. The famous Kastanienallee Avenue with cool designer shops and boutiques is a 5-minute walk.
The apartment is located on the 6th floor of a modern new building, part of the former Berlin Wall strip - the Wall ran almost directly through the site where the house stands today! It is also exceptionally bright in winter thanks to the large panoramic windows. The elaborately arranged exposed concrete ceiling, the stylish lighting and the large art of the owner ensure a cozy ambiance. The furniture, including the cool "jailhouse bed" made of white iron, is primarily from Noodles & Noodles furniture makers in Prenzlauer Berg, so from the neighborhood... The two bedrooms and also the large windows and glass doors in the living room can be darkened if necessary by roller blinds, which is important for those who like to sleep in ;-)
This 800 sq. ft. apartment can accommodate 7 people: Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, as well as an ultra-comfortable designer pull-out sofa-bed for two people in the living room, and an extra mattress.
The kitchen is small but fully equipped. The tasteful ambiance is highlighted by the many paintings and art objects of the owner. You can make yourself comfortable here in the evening with the huge (60 in.) flat screen TV in the living room, and watch the passing clouds through the big skylight facade.

Great apartment, comfortable beds, good shower, grocery store close by along with lots of restaurants to choose from. The laundry facilities were useful too. Interesting walk way with the history of the Berlin Wall 20 meters from the building. A nice wine bar one block away and easy access to the subway system We thought the apartment was exceptional and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Berlin ! Trevor and Kim from Canada !
We stayed at Robin's place, close to our daughter's apartment. There are nice restaurants nearby and also located right at the Berlin wall. Top floor apartment with elevator (woohoo) and private parking for 20/day.
We actually had to leave and get a hotel. The apartment was freezing cold, 2 pillows for 4 people. Towels for 11/2 people not 4. Scary environments had to grope for key in darkness behind a garbage can! Even the uber driver hesitated when he dropped us off.
Over all it was a nice apartment and the communicaton was good. We had a plesent stay and enjoyed Berlin.

Berlin in a nutshell
Not a bad place, but found it a little spartan. No soap or toilet paper upon arrival, but host responded promptly to rectify the situation. Close to the U-bahn and Mauer park, and only a couple of stops from Alexanderplatz.
Really appreciated the clipboard quick glance!
It had everything we needed.
Using the public transit was great but might want to add a quick note about that! We did figure it out quickly.
Thanks for the stay

Great location in fun part of Berlin
The apartment is well located close to the Wall Memorial Park and numerous Prinzlauerberg restaurants. We biked and walked to everything during our stay. Nice balcony and easy access to the building. Some small things would help -- instructions on wifi access, the TV didn't work. Overall great place to stay and we would come again.
Great clean tidy place… only thing to complain about not enough towels for number of guests

Musty bedding
Location was fine- near Mauerpark and the Berlin Wall memorial. You can get anywhere in Berlin via public transportation. Also easy walk to Prenzlauer Berg- which is full of great restaurants. Big problem was the bedding and beds. The bedding was extremely musty. To the point that my nose and sinuses were burning every morning from mold spores. We figured why- the washer and dryer were in the basement and, despite there being a dryer, all of the bedding was left out to dry in the dingy basement. We were there 4 nights and sheets that had been hanging the whole time were still damp!. I have no idea why they didn't just use the dryer!. The beds themselves were very thin and sunken. No top sheets on the bed- but thats typical of Germany. No screens on the windows so always a concern for insects. I would not stay here again.

while claiming to be "respectful and clean", Christopher was rude, insolent and disrspectful from the beginning. He didn't read my welcome message properly, complained before he had even arrived at the apartment and was obviously quite obsessed with finding things to complain about once he did. He sent me a multitude of questions about things that were clearly described for him simply because he didn't read messages or open his eyes, and I answered each of his in often quite presumptuous questions carefully and politely. I offered him fresh sheets when expressed his dislike of the ones that were prepared for him.
I'm honestly not sure what "concern for insects" Christopher had in mind: we don't have killer bees in Berlin, we rarely ever get a mosquito in the summer. But if you grew up in the tropics and are expecting similar protection measures in this moderate climate city; if you're looking for an apartment where the the views over the roofs are obstructed by mosquito mesh on the windows, then this apartment is clearly not for you: we prefer the views and the airy vibe of the apartment to being "safe" from the odd fly that might enter on a summer day.
And yes, we have a brand new laundry dryer (note that previously the apartment description read "drying rack"), and we do use it for drying our laundry.
The location was great and made it really easy to get around. Loved the open market and Mauerpark and being able to walk along the Berlin Wall memorial.
Mussten also alles per Hand spülen.

Good location beware of request by host to pay extra „tax“ in cash
This was one of the best locations in Berlin, but the cleanliness of the flat and linens were poor. The floors were dirty/dusty and we had to wash all the towels in an attempt to get rid of the musty / mildew smell in a laundromat nearby albeit the €48 linen and €59 cleaning fee. The furniture is pretty rickety too. All in all the designer apartment stay was more like glamping. Also be aware that the host will ask you to leave another „city tax“ in cash or via PayPal at the end of the stay. We were advised by VRBO not to pay unless the request comes through VRBO.
Ran the Berlin Marathon and stayed for the week after
We had a great trip overall! The location of the apartment was fantastic - right near the U. The place was quiet, clean, and a nice place to stay for my family of 4. We had a fantastic trip and Robin was easy to get in touch with. Thanks!
