This is a breathtaking property. The kitchen is well stocked, and the floor plan is great. I have some orthopedic and balance issues, and for a mountain property I found it to be safe and stable. The location is great. Private but accessible to all Santa fe has. Teseque Village Market is my new favorite restaurant (it was previously Harry's Roadhouse). I would definitely come back.
My son and I went to this property to celebrate his 13th birthday and do some “man stuff”The area was perfect! Plenty of seclusion and beauty. We got to shoot his air rifle, and at night time the TV was perfect for watching a few movies together. The property was well appointed and fashionably decorated. Everything worked as advertised. The scenery in the area was beautiful, even in an off-season when we went. You definitely need to go outside at night and check out the stars.
Everything was wonderful, except we didn'trealize there wasn't a washer and dryer...oops!..and if you are sleeping downstairs, the upstairs floor is VERY squeaky! Otherwise, great little spot!!!!!

Hi Robin, thank you for your thoughtful review. We appreciate you choosing us for your stay and are glad you enjoyed it. We do have a washer dryer off of the porch behind a separate door. We keep it locked for safety reasons because it also houses our furnace and most guests staying in short stays don’t need to use it . We wish you would have asked about it because it is available to any guests that need it.
As far as the squeaky floors, the house was uniquely built using recycled wood and materials by hand from the previous owner so the upstairs can be a little squeaky. We have been there numerous times with people sleeping upstairs, and it has not bothered us. We feel so lucky to have this space to share with others but it is a cabin in the woods that was handcrafted with love so we tolerate a little squeak once in a while. Hope you had safe travels home!
Beautiful cabin in a very peaceful, private location near a National Forest. The home was clean, well stocked and had everything we needed. There was plenty of firewood available to last us the whole 5 nights we were there. Only 15-20 minutes into town. The road is unpaved part of the way up to the cabin and we had snow as well, so be sure and plan ahead on meals and drinks before driving up. We truly loved the beauty and peacefulness of the area and would love to come back! Host was very receptive to questions and quick to respond. Helpful advice navigating our walks and hiking in the snow! Thank you!
Cozy cabin. Unmaintained mountain dirt road is very rough to navigate; glad we drive a mid size SUV. Housekeeping could use some improvement. Comfy bed, wifi easy to connect to. Property manager very responsive when called. Very quiet & serene, nice linens. Thank you for a very relaxing stay!
From the booking of Storybook Cabin, all the way up to check out, we had fantastic communication from the owners and property manager. Everything was exactly as pictured and described. For those looking for a remote getaway but with the proximity to Santa Fe to make towny stuff still very convenient, this is a great spot. We loved the charm of the cabin's rustic build and location. There are several hikes in very close proximity that were simple and scenic. Great spot, would love to visit again!
What a great location, the cabin interiors are very well done in recycled barn wood and other reclaimed materials, books and games for the kiddos and plenty of room for the doggos
I love the location, being close to the mountains of the Santa Fe national forest. Couldn’t ask for a better location if you enjoy being off the beaten path a bit. The hosts and their neighbor were all so helpful and kind. We are excited to come back!
Enjoyed the stay, very quiet, very peaceful. The sound of the nearby creek was amazing. The cabin is quite eclectic, there are many interesting things to explore throughout.
Rustic setting with creature comforts. Absolute privacy and silence among pine scented National Forest. Near the Plaza, but a destination in itself. So restorative and relaxing!
I want to find an authentic cabin “away from it all“ to gather my thoughts, enjoy some peace and quiet, do a little actual work, plus work on a history book that I am writing.
This cabin was the perfect end to an epic 3 week roadtrip. It has everything you need including very comfortable beds. The property is beautiful and the host/property manager very responsive. We loved the location! Remote and peaceful but only 25 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. 10/10 we would do again!

Thank you Kim! So glad you enjoyed your stay! Come back anytime!
This literal cabin the the woods is magical and straight out of a fantasy novel. We couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting. The cabin was well stocked with anything you could need plus there was extras that really came in handy, (coffee and sugar that we forgot). The only thing that was a bit of a surprise was the lack of cell reception. Not that it would have change our mind but, it would be good to note especially if you have people that call/text often. The chicken theme made my southern heart so happy! Melanie was a joy to work with and I hope we can visit again.

Wonderful rustic home in the woods. I felt like Snow White! Loved the house with it’s rustic feel with all the amenities. We visited Santa Fe, Bandelier, and Los Alamos. It was so peaceful. Would love to visit again!
