TENNIS COURTS, BASKETBALL HOOPS, AND BASEBALL DIAMOND AT COMMUNITY PARK+SENIOR DISCOUNTS!!! This cottage includes a master suite with bath, fishing boat with dock, beautiful sandy beach, 2 Family Rooms both equipped with Cable & DVD, newly remodeled with multiple outdoor decks & covered balcony. Our Lakefront Cottage is located in the Forest Lakes Resort Area just 15 minutes southeast of Downtown Traverse City. It is available ALL YEAR. Weekly rentals run Sunday 4 pm until the following Sunday morning at 11 am. FAMILY RENTALS ONLY . Cottage is in a family friendly setting, no parties. Quiet time after 10 pm. Guests must read and sign rental agreement, available online.

Amenities include an equipped kitchen, living/dining room and lower walkout family room. The master suite has a full bath a opening to deck, 2nd Bedroom has two twin beds and off of family room in walkout with sleeper sofa on lower level, laundry room with stackable washer/dryer, additional full bath on main and porch off living room and lower level covered porch over looking lake.

All linens except personal and beach towels are furnished. The location offers spectacular views of the lake and bay. Spider Lake is unique in that we have 1 Public Island with 459 acres of Lake. We have an association that regulates a quiet time early in the morning and in the evening for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing. This no wake time adds to the Up North peaceful feel you can enjoy at our cottage. With Spider Lake being located in the Forest Lake Resort Area it allows you the ability to visit a number of other lakes close at hand.

Whether you prefer a lazy or active vacation, you will find it here. Our family cottage offers you a swim, great fishing, row the interesting shoreline or visit an island to picnic on or swim off its sandbar, read a book, enjoy a casual dinner or relax on one of the many out door living areas. There are several golf courses and casinos a close drive from the cottage. Spider lake boat launch is nearby. A park with a baseball diamond, tennis, and basketball courts is just up the road.

Enjoy a dinner at home on the deck with a a glass of wine from your day trip to one of the local wineries topped off by a bonfire on the beach roasting marshmallows for desert ; or a short drive to fine dining restaurants over looking the bay and a stroll in downtown Traverse City you will relax and unwind in this Northern Michigan Resort Area.

Our cottage is available for weekly rental, ALL YEAR 'A deposit is required to hold your reservation and the balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival. More detailed directions and information will be provided at the time you make your reservation. We are always pleased to answer any questions and go out of our way to make your stay with us one of the best Up North Vacations you have ever had! Stay with us you won't be disappointed!

Great family vacation

A beautiful spot on the quiet Spider Lake, very clean and well appointed cottage, friendly and helpful owners live next door. Cottage came with the use of two kayaks and a row boat. We have been renting similar houses in this general area for many years; this was one of the best.

Wonderful stay in a perfect location.

The house was exactly as described. Kitchen had everything we needed. The access to the lake was amazing, beds were comfortable. We caught fish off the docks, swam in the water, kayaked around the lake and had campfires at night. There’s a very cool resident snapping turtle who made an appearance at the dock several times. Relaxing and fun vacation! Location was close to other activities in Traverse City but very quiet at night.

Beautiful location.

This is a beautiful location very convenient to Traverse City, Suttons Bay and less than an hour to Petoskey. Nice beach area. Deck needs cleaning and a good investment would be new deck furniture. The set there is very old and peeling and very heavy to move around. Owners really nice and communication was good. The family enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Wonderful memories on Spider Lake

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Susan and Joe’s cottage on Spider Lake. We had 3 children and 4 adults and everyone was comfortably settled. The kids LOVED the bunk beds. Walk out on to private beach with own dock, kayaks, paddle boat, and row boat. Beautiful deck with grill—stunning view of the lake. The neighbors were wonderful as well! Great find!! Can’t wait to come back next Tyler. Thank you, Susan and Joe!

Great views of the beautiful lake

This house was perfect for our retreat and provided everything we needed. The lake is amazing! We didn't see a rowboat anywhere and the paddleboat seemed a bit broken. Kayaks worked well. It would have been nice to have towels (including hand towels) provided so we didn't have to buy them. There was no hand soap either so come prepared. The hosts were kind but had an excessive amount of communication before check in.

Quiet cozy Cottage

We certainly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. Particularly loved the view from the porch and the fact that part is screened in so no bugs! The neighbor was so lovely and Joe And Sue communicative And friendly. House was clean and beds very comfortable. I loved that the entrance had a mud room to store our Fishing poles Ans gear. The new dock was a blessing especially on a quiet cove without the hassle of the sports boats and wave runners. The beach with sand was nice and a good look. Thanks again.

Family unplugged vacation

We loved being able to unplug, and enjoy nature and peacefulness. The space was great for adults and little children, so we didnt get under foot of each other. Everthing you would need to cook, grill available. We enjoyed the ability to still be outside with screened in porch when weather wasnt sunny. Owners are great.

We were very satisfied with our little getaway to make a long weekend relaxing. Quiet property near a clean lake for swimming was greatly appreciated. The large windows toward the lake help you to enjoy the lake inside the house. The house is well stocked with towels, dishes, clean bathrooms and plenty of room for a comfortable stay. At night, a cozy fire at the pit outside was welcoming. Very close to many attractions that are easy to visit. Highly recommend this vacation home for a couple or a family with kids - plenty of room to make great memories.

Nicely Decorated, beautiful screened in balcony, withlarge deck off master suite. Sandy beach, great for swimming and good fishing right off dock. 2 family rooms gives parents a break from the children. Close to family park. Just 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City. BEST GIRLS WEEKEND!!

What an awesome, cute, perfect place! Clean, quaint, private. I stayed here with 3 girls and we had the best time ever! It was so much fun, we're going again this year!! The perfect distance from Traverse City (city) to dress up for a nice dinner downtown, spent Saturday on a winery tour and then went out in the row boat for an amazing Sunday brunch on the water! LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER MEMORABLE WEEKEND!!

The perfect summer vacation!!

We spent our first of hopefully many family vacations here and had the time of our lives!!! The cottage was the perfect setting on a private, beautiful lake and had all the amenities you would ever need. Everyone enjoyed being right on the water each day and campfires at night. The owner Sue was great to work with and very accomodating - our family really enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning soon!

Our cottage has been in the family for more then fifty years and three generations. Many fond memories have taken place at Spider Lake. It is our hope that your family will enjoy your vacation and make new memories.

Why they chose this property

My parents purchased our cottage in 1967. I spent all of my summers during my teenage years on Spider Lake. My own children have summered since birth at the lake. Our beach sand is excellent for small children to play in. We are retired and live next door if you need any help. The cottage is personally maintained and cleaned by my husband. Our friends rent pontoons and jet skies if needed. Where else can you vacation virus free!

What makes this property unique

While staying at the cottage don't miss visiting Ranch Rudolph just minutes away for horseback riding, tubing & canoeing. The local hangout for great pizza or a mouth watering skirt steak is Peego's and it has nightly entertainment on the outside deck on weekends. A drive up the Peninsula between East and West Bay to the Light House is a must. Stop to enjoy great food at Old Mission Tavern while viewing their many works of art by local artists in the restaurant and gallery in the back. Then enjoy a drink or gourmet dining while the sun sets over West Bay at the Boat House or Bowers Harbor Inn.
