The house was clean and kitchen well stocked. The area down by the lake was great. We went swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding right off the dock.

Southshore Haven is Heaven

House was all that we hoped for, clean and roomy. Beach and dock was excellent, the kayaks were very much fun for all. Very good Wi-Fi . Host was quick to answer any questions we had.

Family Time

We had a great stay at the South Shore Retreat House! Fully accommodated our family of 12 adults and six children. We were hosting a party at Tinney's Tavern in Lake Desolation and the South Shore House was a perfect place to retreat to at the end of the evening! Kyle was super responsive to any questions we had. Highly recommend !

Family Getaway

Our family had an amazing long weekend at the lake. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location to reconnect and relax. This house is the perfect place for a get away; its layout and all of the little extras made it easy to unwind and enjoy the lake. Kyle was an awesome host; providing information before our stay and he was super responsive to any questions we had after we arrived. We can’t thank you enough for the beautiful home and wonderful memories. Thank you!!

Private Lake access makes this rental fabulous

Rented both sides for a family reunion, ages 1-65. Prepared all meals at home. Kitchen is very well stocked. Spent hours each day at the private lake. Options there are to be in the water, sunbathe on the docks, use the kayaks that are provided, or even steal away for a nap in their hammocks. You will not be disappointed if your group enjoys the water. Grocery shopping is nearby which is a plus.

Family Vacation

Our family of 17 stayed at the property. The lake was beautiful with a great dock, kayaks and paddle boards. The kids had a blast swimming and enjoying the lake. The owners were extremely responsive. The BBQ wasn’t working and a brand new one was brought the same day. Unfortunately there was a severe storm in the area and we lost power. The owners responded quickly. We are leaving with many fun family memories!

Spring Break in New England

The property is 30 minutes away from Saratoga and 50 minutes from Lake George. It was perfect for everyone in our 10 person group. We rented both sides of the two family at the recommendation of the owner, and we’re very glad we did. Everyone had a room and nobody had to sleep on couches. The bedrooms are small, but the living room, dining areas, and kitchen are all big enough to operate in. I would absolutely recommend this place. It’s gorgeous when it snows and the roads are cleared well and quickly. The mattresses were incredibly soft as well.

Too Bad

Such potential at this charming lakehouse but without the owner addressing several serious issues, we would not stay here again. Which is a shame because we really enjoyed the lake and surrounding area. After sending a long detailed request for the owner to address the issues, only a few were resolved and we just dealt with the rest and made the best of things since we had no other option

We had a great time in our lake-side vacation. 7 adults were able to spread out in the spacious house. The beach had plenty of room for swimming and we used all 4 available kayaks. There was also plenty of dry wood for fires on the beach.One kitchen was large enough to cook for several people and was fully stocked. The second kitchen was smaller but was perfect for making coffee in the morning.One downside to the spacious house was that the Wifi was very spotty as to be nonfunctional. So if you are planning on doing work in the house, that will not be possible. Also at times the road traffic was very loud.
