We left early on day 2 due to a medical issue complicated by the lack of communication at cabin. There is no phone service “ no bars”. Internet service was unusable, Starlink is available and intermittently connects but is to slow to use, probably not setup correctly. Other issues with property - Living room DVR broken, TV powered by 20 ft extension cord draped over fireplace. - Bedroom TV broken, electrical power cord actually tapped up. - Overall cleanliness poor, inside has faint cat odor, decks not cleaned since fall - River access is a steep bank without steps or lites, bank fishing difficult at best - Gas grill igniter gone wires hanging down - property manager does not respond - Overall property is overpriced, poorly maintained and misrepresented - Ed Gabriel - 724-462-1647

Could be better
Most every VRBO location we have stayed in (I'll say, virtually all), have a notebook, flyer, or some type booklet/print material on property with host contact info (at a minimum) and property info. Given this property did not have wifi (which we were good with), accessing the VRBO site to reach the host was not an option. And no such communication was provided at this property So thus, when things occurred like a water system that did not work when power went out due to weather (power outage certainly not the fault of the host's) or a dryer that did not work (we had to hang wet clothes in front of the fireplace), we had no convenient way to contact the host for help/details/info. Even things like plugging in the tv (which required a power cord across the floor) would have been nice to have noted and explained. If I could have easily reached the host, my rating would not be this low. Things happen. But there was nothing to make that process friendly or easy on property. Again, this is compared to what we have been provided when we have rented at rates comparable to (or even cheaper than) this property. All in all, the experience and communication once on site could be much improved compared to other properties do who are charging this rate.

New River cabin
The cabin itself was wonderful: cozy and comfortable, with a beautiful stone fireplace in the great room. Location was quiet and peaceful right on the New River, and as remote as we expected. The kitchen was well equipped. The listing, however, was inaccurate. We always look for a hot tub, and while one was listed, it did not exist. An indoor normal bathtub with jets (that didnt work) is not the same as a hot tub. And the loft bedroom was supposed to have a second bed (futon) but there was not one, which forced us to completely reorganize our sleeping arrangements. If the listing had been accurate, i would have given 5 stars.
