Forest & Flowers Retreat is a place for regeneration of people and the Earth. We cultivate herbs, flowers, and native plants, while offering modern accommodations & low tox amenities curated with your well-being in mind.

OUTDOOR TUB & SHOWER

Enjoy the wildness of a private outdoor shower or soak in the clawfoot tub (open seasonally depending on the weather, May-Oct). Botanical infused bath salts and the soft linen robes provided.

GARDENS, WOODS, CAMPFIRE

Visit the herb and flower gardens around the Retreat House. Walk through the woods on our short path. Gather around a warm fire outdoors (firewood provided).

There's a stairwell to the basement (area not open to guests) with a railing and a gate, but it's not "childproof" so be mindful with small children.

There's high speed WiFi available for streaming on your own device.

Peaceful retreat

Beautiful green garden spot. Secluded but not far from all the necessities. Well appointed kitchen and baths. We loved watching the hummingbirds, the bees and especially the light show of fireflies over the lawn and among the trees. We are already thinking about a fall trip to take in the next season. Quiet Getaway

I cannot say enough good things about this property. It’s beautiful, comfortable and is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. We were in town for my son’s motorcycle races, so it was the absolutely perfect place to unwind and relax in the peacefulness of the property after a long day at the track. There are beautiful personal touches all throughout the property and home and it is a joy to be there.

Beautiful and relaxing retreat

This roomy and well appointed property is in the most beautiful setting! Just being there and listening to the bird song in the surrounding forest is so therapeutic. I took off one point because we had trouble finding it. But I suppose that is part of it's charm, and the owner was readily available to get us on the right track.

So much more than we expected, and to some degree that's because of what is absent. Absence of noise, and the chorus of distraction so often ignored until it vanishes as it does in the woods. Forest & Flowers Retreat is within 5 miles of McConnell’s Mill State Park and Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park, and a scenic 1 mile drive from the Slippery Rock Creek. Outdoor adventure awaits in the surrounding area with hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, boating, and fishing among the lake, trails, and creeks.

Stay at the secluded Retreat House nestled in the woods on 50 acres for quiet solitude, or visit one of the quaint shops, restaurants, wineries or parks in the area.

McConnell's Mill State Park encompasses 2,546 acres of the spectacular Slippery Rock Creek Gorge – a National Natural Landmark. Created by the draining of glacial lakes thousands of years ago, the gorge has steep sides while the valley floor is scattered with huge boulders. Scenic overlooks and waterfalls are popular natural attractions.

Moraine State Park is 16,725 acres — one of the largest parks in western Pennsylvania. It includes 71 miles of trails and 42 miles of lake shoreline. The North Country Trail runs through the park, and you can hike many sections from different parking lots. Rent boats or kayaks, swim, picnic, and enjoy the waters of Lake Arthur.
