Welcome to the Zilli family Villa beach house on Longboat Key. After using this 2,000 sf home for their own family vacations, the house was completely redecorated and stocked to offer all the comforts of home to our VRBO guests. A cool, beachy palette welcomes you to sit back and relax. The Zilli Villa is part of the Zilli Collection each with the Zilli touch of amazing view, decor, ( not typical wicker furniture, silly beach artifacts,40 year old flooring, 1 size fits all look.) We call it upscale coastal. The properties are more of a resort, 5 star hotel feel.

This Villa is a two bedroom/two bathroom light-filled, ocean front home located just 13 steps to the sand and 60 yards to the water. The interior has been professionally decorated in a cool palette of ocean colors.

You’ll find everything you need on-site from free WIFI to dishes, linens, towels and even a few extras you may need for your stay like puzzles and soap. The nearby pool has a covered grilling area with picnic table overlooking the beach. There's plenty of room for bikes, a bike trailer and/or several vehicles. Hope to see you soon at one of my beautiful vacation homes. All you need is your bathing suit and a toothbrush.

A week in Paradise

We were in a comfortable house right by the sand and the ocean. Furnishings and equipment were excellent. The pool was shared with other guests but never overcrowded. I hope to repeat the experience next year. .S. The only thing I missed was a teacosy!!track

Lovely stay right on the beach. The grocery is right down the street and the pool is right outside the window. Everything we needed for a relaxing break with the kids. Owner very responsive, property was clean.

Privacy and convenience on the beach.

One of the great things about Zilli Villa is the convenience - park a few steps from the front door, a few steps out the back door is a great beach on the gulf. Property is very well maintained, upscale furnishings. Choice of beach or pool. Much better than condo - no neighbors above or below. Close to restaurants and Sarasota attractions. The Zillis and on site staff are very attentive and quickly attend to any problems. This was our third visit. We like the area so much we moved here.

A Rare Find On Longboat Key.

Our family has been visiting LBK for the last 25 years. We owned for 20 years and weekly rentals for the last five. Finding reasonable options "on the beach" was next to impossible. Zilli Villa is "the bomb!" LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION All the others claim "beach a few steps away"... ZV delivers. Awsome Villa. All the amenities and a fair price. A very attentive host who took great care of us. We'll be back!

Peaceful

We’ve been visiting Sarasota and it’s environs for many years, usually staying in town. My wife found this gem and instead of a hotel we booked here. Best idea ever! It sits along a quiet stretch of Long Boat Key beach, actually, it sits right on it! It is literally steps out the back door! The convenience was amazing. The house is very comfortable and everything works, something you don’t always find in a VRBO. While quiet in the area, it is 15 minutes to everything you might want to do. Very relaxing. Except of course for TS ETA that rolled through during our stay. Wouldn’t have rather been anywhere else but right there on the beach to see it! Jim was so worried about us that he offered us the use of his own house off the beach if we didn’t feel comfortable staying there ( full disclosure: we are Floridians and Tropical Storms are just part of the deal). What other owner would ever do that for you? In short, can’t recommend this property and it’s owner enough. Book early, as I think he has lots of repeaters lol!

Dream Vacation Home!

We just returned after our week long stay at the Zilli Villa and where do I begin? We were fortunate enough to find an opening here within a short period prior to our travel. The photos looked great but really do not do this home justice. It literally is located right on the beach! There is a small condominium located next door and a couple of other homes behind it, so you have a very quiet beach, especially the week we were there which is considered low season. Now to the home itself. Wow! Jim and his wife have done an incredible job renovating and decorating the home. It is a casual feel without being your typical "beach" furniture. The little touches just make it feel like a decorator showplace. The back wall is all glass which gives you great views of the beach and ocean. The master has it's own door to a small back sitting area to enjoy a book and the 2nd bedroom is very large. There are tons of closet and drawer space throughout the home. The kitchen is large and stocked with everything you could need and a high top butcher block table for 2. The large dining table along the glass wall in the back will seat plenty of people while giving you a great view. There is a pretty wet bar area, a washer and dryer and we also discovered the covered private parking space out back so you don't have to get wet during those Florida storms. The bathrooms have the original Florida tile and fixtures which adds character to the home. I liked them and it is something different from the norm. The day we arrived, we were fortunate enough to personally meet Jim. He is a down to earth, gracious person and wants to make sure you have the best stay possible. He will give you plenty of suggestions for great restaurants and things to do in the area. He lets you know he is a phone call away if you need anything at all. If you are in the market for a place down there, Jim puts you in touch with his realtor, who we met with and is extremely knowledgeable. Longboat Key is quieter with beautiful beaches. It was so hard to fly back north after our vacation was over but we are looking forward to our next trip and hope to stay here again. If you book the Zilli Villa, you won't be disappointed!

A true paradise

This villa is true paradise. As soon as you walk in you know it’s not your everyday VRBO. We were pleasantly surprised when we first opened the door and smelled a very clean home. The decoration in the Villa is exquisite. Every piece of furniture matched and the quality of the furniture was excellent. Everything from the throws on the sofas to the decorative pieces on the walls combined in perfect harmony. All accessories were top quality Pier 1 import and pottery barn. This tells me that the owner didn’t cut any corners when decorating. There’s even an Alice Dalton print in one of the rooms. Everything you can possibly want or need you will have at your reach from a well equipped kitchen with pots and pans, utensils and stemware to a pizza pan and cookie sheets. They really thought of everything to make their guests feel at home. The Villa is spacious and the layout is open floor plan so you never feel crowded. We were a family of 5 but originally booked for 8. 8 people would have fit comfortably. If you have small children or older adults in your party this place is perfect. You have a covered parking space steps from the front door. It is a one story so you don’t have to worry about carrying things up stairs or worry about kids and stairs. The sliding glass door that leads you to the amazing view of the gulf has a lock not accesible to kids. Access to the water couldn’t be any closer. The Villa has beach chairs and Umbrellas for you to use along with beach towels. The views and access to the beach are just breathtaking and the daily sunsets are mesmerizing. All of the above are important factors but what made the trip extra special was the one of a kind customer service. Mr. Zilli reaches out before your trip and provides detailed directions on what you need to do to make your trip enjoyable. He’s only a phone call away and goes above and beyond to provide his clients with everything they need. He also reaches out mid week to make sure everything is up to your standards and although we didn’t have any issues and didn’t need anything he was kind enough to send over fresh towels. I had asked Mr Zilli prior to our trip if the Villa came with a vacuum. He advised that it did. As soon as we arrived to the Villa he asked if the vacuum met my expectations because if it did not he would purchase a new one and have it sent to us. That is the kind of service you get with the Zilli properties. We can’t wait to book again.

Our stay there was beyond wonderful. The house suggests that it was decorated by a professional. It is beautifully done. It is very spacious, the furniture is very comfortable and more than adequate. The sunset view from the property is spectacular and the beach view is available from many areas in the house. There are all the amenities that one can need. If I had to think hard about one thing that could change, it would be that there could be a brighter light in the Master bedroom for nighttime.Based on everything else, I would highly recommend this facility and give it the highest rating possible. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to spend time there, and hope to return for visits in the future.

Beautiful Place

We had a wonderful stay. Jim was always available and was on top of everything. Had books of recommendations. House couldn’t be in a better location. Wake up and see the Gulf with dolphins swimming while having your morning coffee is how every morning should start. House was great and held 2 families of 4 very comfortably. Pool was great and right next to the house. We felt like we were the only ones on the beach. Loved our stay and will definitely come again.

When you feel at home, but you’re on vacation

The rental was nothing less than exceptional, Jim made everything so easy, keeping us informed, giving suggestions of all his favorite places around town.The house was a true dream come true in paradise. Just steps to the sand, and a view you only see in movies. The inside of the house was decorated well, and very clean, Jim was even able to get us checked in early the day of arrival (we unfortunately were running behind due to our own issues though)The house was well furnished, and had a closet full of items to take to the beach. Jim even went above and beyond to make sure we had aCertain kind of beach chair in the house, and went as far as ordering new ones for us. Jim gets straight to the point when conversing with him making it easy to get answers without any time wasted, and his hospitality is some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing.We had a great time, I would recommend this property to anyone, and if we’re ever in the area again we will definitely be staying with Jim again!

Longboat Paradise

Great location. Right on the beach. Wide open floor plan with glass across the entire back of the house giving a phenomenal view of the Gulf. Nice layout and set up for our family. Very clean. It’s obvious the owner pays a lot of attention to the upkeep and maintenance. Last, but not least, close proximity to a Publix grocery store.

My husband, daughter, and I had a wonderful stay at Jim's property on Longboat Key. Jim is a class act and answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. He also knows the area so well, and he had great suggestions for restaurants and other things to do. The home is literally steps from the beach, and the beach and its sunsets are remarkable. If you are looking for peace, quiet, and beauty then this is definitely the spot for you!

AMAZING for body and mind!!

I wish I could summarize our stay with a few simple words, I cannot. The host, Jim Zili, with simply the best host we have ever had through VRBO or any other rental service. He was in communication with us the whole time in case we needed anything. If we called or texted, he immediately picked up or called back. He’s such a kind man with your best interest at heart as a guest. The house is stunning. The views are amazing, the people around you are friendly, we could not have asked for more. I implore you to rent this property. You will not regret it. You will want to go back year after year. I know we will!!!

Jim Zilli grew up in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area. He started coming to Longboat Key in the early 1980s and purchased the Villa as a family retreat in 2004. He chose this property as it was the perfect vacation property and is the only ocean-front standalone home in the area. It didn’t take long before he decided to make Longboat Key his year-round home. Since 2009, he has lived here full time and has gone on to purchase additional properties nearby including a nearby one-bedroom condo in January 2013. The Villa retains the elegantly appointed feel of a family home with all the upscale touches of an attractive, well-kept and much-loved property.

Jim is CEO in the family’s Wisconsin on off-site catering special events business, so he has ample experience in hospitality. He finds great enjoyment and satisfaction helping guests have fantastic vacations in his properties – many of whom come back year after year. “I have many families who I have gotten to know over the years and spent time, dining, golfing, helped them find realtors, and more,” says Jim.

Clients have complimented Jim’s style as attentive and not pushy. They appreciate he will check in with them during their stay. He wants renters to know he’s there for them.

Why they chose this property

The most apparent reason Jim chose Longboat Key is the weather and beauty of this location, and the Villa located just steps from a world-class beach. Guests never run out of things to do, whether it’s enjoying the nightlife in nearby Sarasota or only collecting shells along the white sand beach. The weather provides just enough variety so that you won’t be bored. Unlike other areas of Florida, Longboat Key is quiet, safe and has a small-town feel he enjoys. The area feels remote and natural, yet it’s easy to access with the Sarasota airport just 7 miles east of Sarasota or from Tampa, which is 40 minutes away.

One of Jim’s favorite things to do is golf, and (there are several world-class courses within a 20-minute drive). He also enjoys movies and recommends the annual film festival in Sarasota. He keeps a running list of the many, many things there are to do in the area - so whether you like to swim, sunbathe, walk the beach, golf, shop, or all of the above, Jim’s guests find plenty to keep themselves entertained. At the same time, the secluded location offers privacy and quiet, so if you, like most of us, need to catch up on rest while you’re here, you can fall asleep to nothing more than the gentle sound of the surf.
