This beautiful waterfront studio apartment is in the heart of Warm Mineral Springs. Newly remodeled and renovated, the apartment has a cozy and clean feel to it that all guests could enjoy. This apartment is a 10-minute walk away from the Warm Mineral Spring Fountain of Youth. It has driveway access as well as a backyard that has an entrance to the stream that flows behind it. The stream in the back of this property is safe to swim in and flows directly from the fountain of youth.

I visited North Port to assist with disaster relief. I didn’t need a fancy hotel, just a clean comfortable place to recharge each night. This was the spot! Quiet neighborhood, close to shopping and restaurants, and quick access to the major highways. The bed is really comfortable, and the kitchenette was a real bonus. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch and listening to the wildlife, and chatting up the neighbors as they took their evening stroll. If you want to stay “home” while you are away, then check this place out!

North Port

We were a little surprised that the unit did not look like the pictures posted. It's not that it was bad, we were expecting something that looked like the pictures. Anne was very nice, she called to check with us as to when we would be arriving and came to visit us after we checked in. The unit was adequately furnished with kitchen items. We did have a problem with the bathroom sink drain. The drain needed to be plunged several times during our stay. The information we received in the email said that there would be filtered water in the refrigerator when we arrived and there wasn't. There was an almost empty roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. I sent an email to Elina at the office and didn't get a response. It was nice having the washer and dryer available along with detergent and fabric softener. The tv was placed on a dresser that was parallel to the bed. This made it awkward to watch tv. A better place would have been on the wall in front of the bed above the table instead of having a mirror on that wall. There wasn't any electrical outlet in the bathroom, so we had to get an extension cord so that we could use the hairdryer. It worked for us, just was a little bit different than what we had expected.

This waterfront property provides a homy and comfy feel for all guests. Located in the quiet but desirable neighborhood of warm mineral springs; you are only blocks away from the famous Fountain Of Youth where you can bathe in the lake that is widely know to revive the body and make you feel younger !

What makes this property unique

The Warm Mineral Springs (Fountain Of Youth)

The only warm mineral spring in Florida is found on an obscure back road (our favorite kind) near North Port, Florida.  This place is of major historical and archeological note and I’m surprised we’d never heard of it! You may not step out of the water with a younger face, but perhaps you’ll feel you have more verve and zing.

A few intriguing facts about the springs:

The water flowing from this spring is low in oxygen and is believed to have been trapped underground for over thirty thousand years.
In 1973 a 10,000 year old skull still containing brain matter (can you imagine?) was discovered, which changed the theory about the time of Homosapian movement to 4,000 years earlier than originally thought.
Some believe Ponce de Leon hoped this was The Fountain of Youth. (Some also believe that Ponce was never actually searching for The Fountain of Youth.) (I still am, though…)
Eight million gallons of water a day flows through and replenishes itself every 2 hours.
 
Soaking in warm mineral spring water is thought to have healing and preventative qualities, and natural medicine practitioners in Japan and Europe have been recommending balneotherapy – treatment of disease by bathing – for centuries. Some purported benefits are:

Increased blood flow, circulation.
Increased metabolism.
Absorption of essential minerals.
Treatment of chronic digestive diseases and constipation.
Treatment of gout, diabetes, and liver complaints.

Admission is $20 per adult, $15 for children ages 6 – 17 and $10 for children ages 3 – 5.
