Why You'll Love Staying at Bear Cave
Bear Cave is a cozy and private one-bedroom cabin for a tranquil getaway, nestled in the woods with a peaceful surrounding, just minutes from Pigeon Forge.
Living Room
The open plan living and dining area is spacious and airy beneath a soaring cathedral ceiling. Choose the couch or the overstuffed, soft leather recliner and watch the flat-screen TV or the crackling fire in the stone fireplace. The dining area’s intimate table for two includes two richly upholstered chairs beckoning you to stay at the table for games, cards, or even some work emails (if you really must!).
Kitchen
The convenient galley kitchen lets you reach everything with ease. Stocked with all the utensils, cookware, and dishes you need, the kitchen is great for whipping up a picnic lunch, cooking a romantic supper together, or just heating up your takeout from Pigeon Forge’s many restaurants.
Bedroom
When a cabin has just one bedroom, it needs to be special. Bear Cave’s bedroom glows with warm wood from ceiling to floor. The upper deck is right outside the window that lets in light. The room features an elegant king bed, sweet, wildlife-themed decor, and an ensuite bathroom with a roomy, beautifully tiled shower.
Bonus Room
The loft is a bonus space with a full-sized air hockey table for hours of friendly competition and a flat-screen TV for watching your favorite shows. The daybed here is just right for napping or settling in with a good book. The loft overlooks the living area and shares its gorgeous, ceiling-height window views.
Outdoor Spaces
Two levels of covered decks give you plenty of options for lounging outside in the fresh mountain air. On the upstairs deck, you’re among the trees and look out on rich foliage. Relax in the bubbling hot tub or sip moonshine or coffee while you watch the birds from the wicker chairs. On the ground level deck, kick back in a rocking chair or on the old-fashioned porch swing. A gas grill stands by for cookouts--bring your favorite steak, shrimp, or chicken recipes.

Great place to stay
The cabin was very clean. It was at the way up in the mountains so if they are calling for bad weather I would suggest taking something more than a 2 wheel drive vehicle. We loved that you couldn't see any neighbors. All in all it was a great stay.

Our original cabin did not have electricity due to bad weather however we were notified several hours before we arrived. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you for a very relaxing few days. The only problem we had was we did not plan for more time off.

Hard to find.
Cabin was nice, very pretty but, hard to find. Apple map has the wrong location so, if you go at night be careful with what gps you use. No road signs and very curvy drive up the mountain. The gas fireplace did not work.

Thank you for choosing to stay with Colonial Properties Cabin and Resort Rentals Maegan. I am sorry to hear that you had some trouble finding the cabin, we do try and have good signage up but sometimes they can get missed. I'm glad you found it in the end! I am sorry to hear that the gas fireplace was not working, Maintenance has been notified and they should be able to take a look at it as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope that you enjoyed your stay despite these issues and we would love for you to come back and visit us again in the future!
My only complaint would be they should supply dish soap. This is the first time I have ever stayed at a rental that didn’t supply any kind of soap for the kitchen. Made cleaning up the dishes we used more hassle than it was worth.

Mattress in master room needs to be replaced. Musky water smell in bathroom drains. Low water pressure.
Said to put trash in bin but no bin outside. It wasn’t really clear about trash.

Lack of garbage options impacted our week-long stay
This is a lovely cabin, as described except that there are no outdoor garbage cans, which we did not know when we booked (and I think they are required by Gatlinburg ordinance). We booked a full week, and by Tuesday our kitchen garbage can was full. We called and emailed the management company to inquire about the outdoor trash cans, and were told a bear had made off with them and they hadn't been replaced. We were offered one "complimentary" trash pick up from the cabin (we paid over $2k to stay there for a week), but were on our own after that. With meal prep and takeout boxes, by Friday we had 4 full trash bags in a small cabin, which was not pleasant or relaxing, so we decided to just leave early. It was a very disappointing experience.
The cabin itself is lovely and is as described in the listing. For a shorter trip, like a long weekend, the lack of outdoor garbage cans may not be an issue.

We are very sorry that due to unfortunate circumstances beyond our control, the outdoor garbage cans were unavailable during your stay. We will certainly address this issue going forward to ensure future guests do not face a similar situation. We have passed along your feedback to our property manager regarding sanitation services and it is being taken into consideration.
Again, thank you for taking the time to provide us with this detail; we hope you will give us another chance in future.
A perfect little cabin for a mountain getaway! It was private yet accessible, very clean, and well equipped. Definitely recommend!

Bear Cave no Bears
On arrival at 4.15pm property wasn’t ready cleaner was still there . She let us in to waiit for about half an hour before she left. We had been travelling for 5 hrs and was looking forward to relaxing in hot tub but it was stone cold. . On checking my emails later that evenin g after we had rested there was one from Colonial Properties saying we needed to provide ID for the door lock to be activated . I tried calling and eventually got a reply at 6.45pm I was told that a text message with a link had been sent to me but I checked and hadn’t received any text message . I tried calling back but no answer by this time the office was closed so we couldn’t go out anywhere to eat as we couldn’t re-enter because the code wouldn’t work. We had to take ID to the office the following day to gain access. There was no mention of needing ID for the lock to work in earlier correspondence. Just another point we noticed that you have a termite/ woodworm problem in the ballastrade upstairs not that it bothered us but thought you should know . Apart from that we enjoyed our stay

This cabin was perfect for my husband and I. It would work great for a small family as well. It was very clean, cozy and in the perfect location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Would definitely recommend!
