We first came upon this "hidden gem" in 2010 and have been returning for our yearly ski trip ever since. The owner is very reasonable and a pleasure to deal with; if any issues arise while on site, the manager is extremely responsive.
The unit is quiet, clean, updated, well maintained, and with an open layout that unites the kitchen, dining, and living areas. This allows us to stay together, while not getting in the way. We have enjoyed plenty of home-cooked meals with the stocked kitchen (there are pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, glassware, etc.) and newer appliances that have never failed us.
We sit by the fireplace to chat and check email with the free WiFi (there is cable TV and a DVD player). Sometimes we step out and eat ice cream in the balcony, where we feel like we are in a treehouse surrounded by trees.
The two spacious rooms have en-suite full bathrooms, with plenty of drawers and hangers to store all our clothes. Showers have good pressure and the water temperature is hot. Extra linens, toiletries, and even hairdryers are thoughtfully provided.
Edelweiss Haus is located within walking distance from the Park City Mountain Resort and there is a bus stop in front of the property. There are supermarkets and stores (including Starbucks, Rite Aid, banks) in the area; Main Street, with its shops and restaurants, is a short drive away. We rent a car for the 40-minute drive from the SLC airport and, not being too adept with the ice-scraper, the underground parking is much appreciated.
We have truly enjoyed our getaways and being able to stay at the Edelweiss is a big part of it since it has become our home away from home.
