About this property

Lake Cabin Near Winnipesaukee, Gunstock Mt, Mount Major, with Kayaks and Firepit

Leave the hustle and bustle behind. Drive down the dirt road to our clean, rustic cabin; nestled in the pines of a quintessential NH lakeside neighborhood.

The cabin features:
🛏️ 2 Bedrooms
🚿 1 Bathroom
🛋️ Cozy living room with wood stove
☕ Small but well-equipped kitchen stocked with
the essentials plus a coffee bar
🎲 Three-season porch for game nights
🎮 Nostalgic Bunkhouse with DVDs + Nintendo GameCube for the kids.

There is plenty of seating and outdoor space: private deck, firepit with Adirondack chairs, outdoor shower, and peekaboo lake views.

We have SHARED lake frontage 3–5-minute walk from the cabin. There is NO BEACH. It is a water access point for swimming / fishing / kayaking (2 included). Kayak carts (2) provided to help you walk kayaks to the water. Again, please note - there is NO BEACH or sitting area (see photos in the listing). That said, it is clean and not murky! A nice gradual incline for swimming. To play in the sand, head to the Town Beach < 1 mile away (see photos) or take a drive to many of the beautiful beaches along Lake Winnipesaukee.

Alton Bay is a 15-minute drive. Irwin Marine has daily boat rentals and SUP-NH has paddle board rentals. Go a bit further (30 mins) to Wolfeboro or Laconia for tons of activities. Be sure to check out the Mount Washington Cruise which stops in Alton Bay and five other Ports around Lake Winnipesaukee.

Or stay local, pack a lunch and head to the Gilmanton Town Beach. Perhaps after hiking Mount Major...Don’t feel like leaving the cabin? Grill on the BBQ, enjoy a cocktail or book on the peaceful deck, play yard games, watch the kids play in the bunkhouse, bring floats down to the shared water frontage. The vibe at the cabin is fun all on its own.

Gunstock Mountain has lots of fun activities – Adventure Park, Ziplining, E-Bike Tours, Scenic Lift Rides, Off-Road Segway Tours, Mountain Coaster and more.

Whether you head out to explore or relax at Little Bear Lodge, unwind after a fun-filled day by gathering around the fire with smores or partake in ole fashioned competition with a game night on the porch.

Complimentary WiFi and Apple TV is offered for Guests to use their own streaming accounts (no cable).

OCTOBER + NOVEMBER: Fall is a great time for hiking and leaf peeping! During these months, this is a true RUSTIC New Hampshire cabin. The heat is locked at 50 degrees. If it is cooler, you will need to use the wood stove for heat. Wood is provided. The wood stove has a blower and does a fantastic job of heating the whole cabin. In fact, sometimes we have to crack windows once it gets going. Most of our neighbors are seasonal so during the Fall it's very quiet and weather is great for the firepit! You're secluded in your own little oasis.

Please make sure to check out the House Rules section before booking so you have all the information. We are excited to have you stay with us soon!

Relaxing at the lake
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Little Bear Cabin! The property and neighborhood was so peaceful and quiet! The cabin had everything we needed and more! Games for family play or adult play, perfect campfire area and cozy cabin for the rainy days! We highly recommend this property and look forward to renting again in the future. Hosts were very helpful and nice.

Weeklong mountain vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Bear Lodge! We came to the cabin all the way from Florida to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We also came for the 100th anniversary of motorcycle week in Laconia but wanted to stay somewhere quiet away from all the hustle and bustle. However, it was only a 30 minute ride to Weirs Beach when we chose to participate in the bike week festivities. The cabin is so cute and comfortable! It is equipped with everything you could possibly need! It is centrally located for sightseeing trips around Lake Winnipesaukee or the White Mountains. We enjoyed using the kayaks and swimming in the refreshing, clear water in Crystal Lake and loved relaxing by the fire pit each night. We hope to visit again with family in the future!

Phenomenal
We are back every year to the area. Having a family cottage within 1/4 mile. The lil Bear Cottage was found to be spotless. Well equipped and fun for our 7 year olds to safely run around the property. There was plenty of space and options for socializing. Easy to “work from home” in peace while the rest of the family enjoyed the rest of the cottage. Communications and instructions were clear and timely. We can’t think of a negative and we occupied for an entire week.

Cozy cabin at Crystal Lake
My husband and I stayed at Kayla and Tom’s cabin at Crystal Lake recently, and we loved it. We found it to be very cozy warm and comfy. The photos online look exactly like the cabin. Kayla and Tom have done a superb job of creating a home away from home and you can tell when you enter the cabin how much they care about their place. They were very responsive to any questions we had during our stay and we can highly recommend their place for a retreat.

We are NH locals living in our old farmhouse with our boys, Ryder and Jax, and Wheaten Terrier, Wrangler. We love enjoying craft beer and exploring everything NH has to offer, especially skiing, hiking and boating. We have spent a lot of time in the Lake's Region and are so excited to have a spot of our own to create memories and share with others to do the same!

Why they chose this property

We quickly fell in love with this quintessential New Hampshire lakeside neighborhood. It's fun yet peaceful in the Summer and in the Fall / Winter it's like your own quiet oasis as neighbors are mostly seasonal.

The Lake is beautiful! It has a little bit of everything - mountain views of the Belknap range, soft sand bar and crystal-clear water.

What makes this property unique

The cabin feel is on-point with natural woodworking, the yard is large enough for games and the bunkhouse is a fun bonus!
