About this property
Yona Ridge Cabin- Adjacent to Linville Gorge Wilderness, Dog Friendly, with AC
Welcome to Yona Ridge Cabin—your elevated mountain escape perched at 3,600 feet in the quiet, scenic community of Gingercake Acres adjacent to the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. This is where you come not just to get away, but to exhale.
Slow down and settle into a rhythm of stillness. Whether you're outdoor or indoors reading with a book from our collection of Indigenous authors, unrolling a yoga mat (provided) for a quiet morning stretch, or stargazing through the cabin’s telescope under crystal-clear skies—you’ll find space to reconnect with yourself and the rhythms of nature.
Step out your door and you’re minutes from world-class hikes—Table Rock, Hawksbill, and Sitting Bear are all within easy reach. Or simply walk the peaceful neighborhood gravel roads lined with mountain laurel and rhododendron.
Inside, the great room invites you to linger with a stunning floor-to-ceiling stone gas fireplace and soaring A-frame windows that frame views of the Long Arm Mountain. The cabin is beautifully appointed with a full well appointed kitchen, two wrap-around decks for lounging or dining (gas grill), and comfortable 2 bedrooms with a max occupancy of 6.
The main bedroom is a spacious upstairs open loft featuring a king-size bed, full bath with a beautiful tiled shower, and a private balcony perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. Please note the upstairs bathroom follows an open-concept design and does not have a door for full enclosure. The downstairs bedroom offers a full-size bed, a twin bed with an additional twin pull-out, and charming barn doors for a rustic touch. It’s conveniently located next to the downstairs full bathroom and features direct access to the wraparound porch for easy outdoor enjoyment. You’ll also find a washer and dryer for longer stays in the downstairs bathroom.
Come to Yona Ridge Cabin and create your own quiet, restorative mountain memories. You may never want to leave.
The cabin is best suited for adults and older children, and one well-behaved dog (no fee) is welcome (on-leash in the neighborhood, please!). **Please note: Access to the cabin will be through the downstairs garage. Guests must walk up a flight of stairs in the garage to enter the cabin.
58” TV for streaming only (free channels available), no cable. NO cell service at cabin - but WiFi is strong and reliable for calls and messages, use wifi setting on phone for calls. Spectrum internet.
Access is via a gravel mountain road—part of the adventure! We advise arriving during daylight hours and a 4WD vehicle is required if traveling during winter/rainy months. The driveway is steep and can fit 2 vehicles.
Please note: Gingercake pool is not available to guests. *To reduce additional costs for our guests, guests can choose to either take their trash to the convenience center at check out (4 miles away) OR pay an additional $20 fee for trash removal.

Our family LOVES the NC mountains, and we are excited to share this very special place with you! We hope you enjoy the MANY different hikes within minutes from the cabin, and the solitude that offers quiet reflection. We are dog friendly because we couldn't imagine hiking without our two fluffy Golden Retrievers
Why they chose this property
We choose Gingercake Acres because of it's location, adjacent to the Linville Gorge Wilderness, the adventures are limitless! Even if a big hike isn't in the plans, walking the neighborhood gravel roads beautifully lined with native plants brings such calm!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin was built with all reclaimed wood and wood harvested from our property. It has very unique interior features AND the two wrap around decks with views of Long Arm Mountain are spectacular!
