Very cozy, quiet, clean. Limited tv but that is the area. At first seemed bad but ended up enjoying the limited tv very much. There is so much to do in the area. We went nonstop all and then came back each night for a home cooked dinner. So relaxing.

Very nice property especially inside. Curb appeal on outside was needing some attention. Trim bushes, clean porches, some pots had food in them- otherwise very nice.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint cabin decorated appropriately in the Bob Timberlake fashion. The red cedar throughout the cabin is incredibly beautiful. I loved the fact the owner had left a few staples in the kitchen like coffee as we arrived late in the day and were unfamiliar with where nearby stores are to get forgotten food items. That was kind and thoughtful. I would recommend adding real silverware to the kitchen as I do not enjoy plastic cutlery eating inside such a beautiful home. I would remove a few pots & pans from kitchen cabinets as it was a challenge to get them in & out of the cabinets & stacked back inside. There were more than enough to bake or stovetop cook any food imaginable. Thank you to the owners for equipping this cabin so well. The neighbors next door in the round house became our good friends. This location was perfect to drive to nearby Asheville & the Biltmore House were we are season passholders or to Blowing Rock another favorite destination, both only a little over an hour away. Plus I got to hike with our dog straight from the cabin as far as I wanted to go. We hope to come back soon. Thank you Bob & Judy.

Friendly Hosts

We were in town visiting family and Bob and Judy were so welcoming. They were having trouble with the cable and were nice enough to let us know in advance and even offered to reschedule our stay. This meant a lot because I’ve stayed in other places where the owners were not open or forth coming if something wasn’t working. At one point during the stay, I locked myself out and they were so helpful and quickly got me back in. The cabin was exactly what we wanted. It was comfortable and the location was nice for us because we could quickly get to Spruce Pine. My 2 favorite features of the property were the porch and the heater in the bathroom. We loved being able to sit on the porch with our dogs. It was cold during our visit so the having a heater in the bathroom when I got out of the shower was so nice. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit.

Quiet - Secluded

The Cabin is secluded, but close to Spruce Pine and Little Switzerland. There was no internet or cable on our visit, which was disappointing, as we had hoped to cuddle up and watch Christmas movies. There isn't central heat, it's a split unit, and I didn't feel like it was as warm as the degree it was set on; however, overall, we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked and the bathroom had many items you may have forgotten.

If you are looking for clean, quiet, and Gods peace, this is it!

This cabin is much, much more than what is seen from the exterior, or even the interior pics. Absolutely spotless, well kept, well insulated, well hidden from any passersby (because there aren’t any, ha!). Instructions are clear as to basic knowledge needed while staying, laundry, trash, remote use for ac/heat, key placement, etc. Plenty of books on hand to read, if you didn’t bring any. Went into town for some meals, and found the Tropical Grill a winner! The owners of the cabin also keep on display, several books/binders of comments from those who have stayed over the years. Indeed, plenty to do in the great outdoors of the mountains in western North Carolina, with an endless supply of destinations to visit. The hosts make themselves easily accessible, and that in and of itself was a comforting feeling. If you are a couple (husband/wife), the most difficult decision was, do we sleep upstairs or downstairs! Just go!

A comfortable, beautiful cabin

This is a beautiful finished cabin in a great location for exploring a delightful part of the country. It is very comfortable and well appointed for a couple or a family of four. The only challenge we had was finding it on a dark night.

Perfect Location

My husband and I stayed over Labor Day weekend 2024. Also, we brought along our little Shih Tzu. the location was back in the woods so it was very quiet and it was just a very short drive to resturants and attractions. We would recommend this place to couples with pets.

Bob is retired law enforcement officer and Judy was a school teacher and hardware retailer. We retired 10 years ago, moved to the NC mountains and built our vacation rentals. We drew on our own vacation experiences and designed and built our rentals to provide you the best vacation possible. We live close by and will be available to take care of any problems or provide local information and directions. If this cabin is not available for the dates you desire we have another one ( the Round House, number 7026506 ) in the same area with the same amenities that may be available.

Why they chose this property

Our rentals were designed to be vacation rentals and not just older repurposed dwellings. We built them not just to look nice (which they do), but to be very functional with all the modern conveniences. We have furnished them with everything we could think of to make them comfortable for you. And best of all is the setting. A quiet dead end gravel lane in the middle of the beautiful west north carolina mountains convenient to all the things you come to the mountains for. And did I mention that we are at 3100 feet elevation for a nice escape from the summer heat, but not so high as to be a problem with snow and ice in the winter.
WE ARE TAKING THIS VIRUS SITUATION VERY SERIOUSLY AND WANT TO DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO HELP. WE CONSIDERED SHUTTING OFF ALL OUR BOOKINGS UNTIL IT WAS OVER, BUT WE HAVE MANY RETURN GUESTS THAT ARE GOING TO NEED A GETAWAY DURING THIS TRYING TIME AND HAVE DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO MAKE OUR CABINS AVAILABLE WITH SOME RESTRICTIONS. OUR AREA IS NOT DENSELY POPULATED AND HAS NOT BEEN HIT AS HARD AS SOME AND WE WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. if YOU HAVE THE VIRUS OR KNOW YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK. WE ALSO ARE NOT DOING BACK TO BACK BOOKINGS. DO NOT BOOK THE DAY SOMEONE ELSE LEAVES. WE WANT AT LEAST A DAY BETWEEN GUESTS TO THOROUGHLY CLEAN AND AIR OUT BETWEEN GUESTS, 2 WOULD BE BETTER. if YOU HAVE STAYED WITH US BEFORE OR READ OUR REVIEWS YOU WILL NOTICE THAT CLEANLINESS IS MENTIONED REPEATEDLY. WE DO OUR OWN CLEANING AND ARE NOW TAKING EVEN MORE PRECAUTIONS ( CLEANING HVAC FILTERS BETWEEN GUESTS,, MAINTAINING OUR DISTANCE FROM EVERYONE HERE AND WHEN WE GO OUR, AIRING OUR CABINS ON A REGULAR BASIS, ETC.) PLEASE KNOW THAT WE ARE DOING ALL WE CAN TO CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR GUESTS, BUT DOING IT IN A SAFE MANNER.

What makes this property unique

From the full length covered front porch with Amish built swing and rockers to the full length rear deck with table, chairs and gas grill and everything in between, you will fall in love with this little log cabin built of native red cedar.
If the dates you want are not available, we have another cabin, ( the round House, Number 7026506 ) in the same area and with the same amenities that may be available.
