Great location, close to shops, food and activities! The hosts keep the property extremely clean and provide lots of extras like snow gear/toys, kids toys and baby gates! We plan to stay with them again in the future!
The cabin was very comfortable and cozy, with thoughtful and welcoming decor. We cooked quite a bit and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were toys for the kids to play with (ages 6 & 8), which they loved, and plenty of games. The rooms were really comfortable. My kids said they wanted to live there permanently! One thing to be aware of is that you need to pack out your garbage (unless you pay a small fee to the cleaning service), but the waste center was right on our way out and very easy to navigate.
Our stay was so much fun. Cabin is very well equipped with kitchen having everything we needed. Enjoy making fires in the fire pit each evening and exploring the area during the day. Ryan responded to questions in very timely manner and was extremely kind. We will definitely be back!
Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin. We had truly great time during our Christmas stay. The cabin is clean and well equipped and the owners easy to communicate, very helpful and responsive.

So happy you had a great time. We know staying for Christmas sets high expectations so glad they delivered. You and your family are welcome back anytime.
Smart TVs, fully stocked kitchen, access to the pool, and proximity to great lakes made for a great vacation. We luckily had great weather and did not require AC and the fans were sufficient.
The place is in a nice, quiet location not far from Big Trees State Park. The cabin had everything we needed and was warm and cozy. The kids loved making s’mores at the fire pit and playing with the fun games that are provided. We took the loft room and it was oh-so-comfortable! I’d definitely book again.
Camp Connell and the area where this cabin is was just what I was looking for. It was quiet and peaceful and definitely felt so comfortable because I was staying among the trees. The hosts were amazing. They handled everything seamlessly. Definitely a 5 star experience!
This was the perfect spot for our family to get together for New Year’s Eve!! We had an infant and a fur-baby and the cabin was well stocked with things for both children! The host was super nice, very accommodating, and transparent. We are already planning our next trip up to this beautiful and spacious cabin!

So glad you enjoyed NYE at The Cedar Loft! We look forward to having you back soon.
Good location for people who like hiking and exploring caverns.
House is warm and cozy.
Owner responds quickly.
Also we found a lot of gameboards.
Recommend!
This place was perfect. It had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing few nights with our dogs in the forest. They loved it there immediately.
The place is really clean….like really clean.
That made it easy to relax.
Stored blankets in a closet, smelled amazingly fresh.
We hope we will be able to visit again.
THANK YOU
Very nice, very clean and well appointed cabin near Calavares Big Trees and several excellent lakes. Has what you need, location, coffee and dog friendly. Owners very responsive, directions super clear. Upstairs bedroom can warm up a lot. Be great if there was a ceiling fan up there are MANY other types of fans available. Nice touches: lotsa phone chargers, selection of games, coffee station with grinder and beans, sharp knives and kid says thanks for the Oreos and buttered popcorn. 10/10 would stay again.
We had a great weekend staying here. We spent one day kayaking and swimming at the nearby Utica/ Union Reservoir and explored the Big Trees State park. There is also pretty easy access to the North fork of the Stanislaus River. There are some nice swimming ares, but the river is moving fast right now from the snow melt. Nevertheless, our pups loved it.
The cabin was clean and well stocked. The deck was great for lounging and our pups loved it as well. It's located in a very peaceful neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.
My family (2 adults, 3 kids age 17, 13, and 10 and 2 dogs) had the best time at The Cedar Loft. I wanted a place where we could stay put to enjoy the snow and this was perfect! The kids loved playing with the provided sleds and snowboards on the little hills around the house, and I loved not having to haul extra equipment or travel anywhere else for snow play. The cabin was easy to get to, and so comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. Next time we come, I’ll be sure not to overpack because coffee, tea, spices, and more were provided. The hosts were very quick to respond to questions before and during our stay. We will definitely book again!
I absolutely loved this cabin! The host went above and beyond to make their cabin comfortable for their guests. Every room in the cabin felt cozy and it was so easy to relax in a space that was impeccably clean. I was also impressed with the coffee/tea bar they had set up for their guests. The outdoor area had a large deck and in back of the cabin was a fire pit area. I loved coming back to the cabin after the time I spent at Beaver Creek in Calaveras Big Trees State Park and taking a hike around White Pines Lake in Arnold.
I will be returning to Cedar Loft for many years to come. I found the perfect cabin to spend time alone or with several friends. Looking forward to my next trip!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Property was easy to use, had more than basic daily amenities covered, parking was easy and finding it was easy. It’s a little further outside of Murphy than we prefer to stay, simply because we enjoy visiting the wineries and it’s about 30 minutes from downtown Murphy’s. The property did not require a lot from us in terms of check out. We booked via Expedia versus booking directly through VRBO, so I think we probably had less communication from
The host than I normally have through VRBO. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to have had an open line of communication to able to tap into how to access things like the community pool (there were no written directions anywhere.) overall great property!
We have a 4 year old and love to travel. Inspired by our own vacation rental stays we decided to purchase our own family cabin that we could share with others. We believe a cabin should be cozy and homey but also have all the amenities we've come to expect. After 2 years of operating the cabin we purchased a beautiful home in downtown Murphys and have loved the different option it provides our guests.
Why they chose this property
The Cedar Loft is aptly named with cedar shake siding and a large master loft that provides a special cabin vibe. We're also at 5200 ft which means more snow vs rain when comparing to other cabins in Arnold.
With new flooring, fresh paint, updated kitchen and bathrooms, guests tend to use words like cozy and homey upon entering. The Trex deck is another cabin favorite with safety railing to keep kids and pets safe.
The cabin is furnished throughout with thoughtful details, local decor, and have a few extras like baby gates, pack n play, toys, books, etc.
What makes this property unique
If you’re looking for a true mountain experience that is still close to restaurants, shopping and snow look no further. Guests tend to use words like cozy, charming, peaceful and perfect when they describe their stay.
