Our 3,200 square foot barrier island home will leave you speechless! One house from the ocean. So close to the charming Beach town, yet secluded, quiet, private neighborhood.
Conveniently located on a cul-de-sac, within steps of the ocean, it has private access to a breathtaking, wide and secluded, endless beach. One house away India river shores beach 1minute walk. From this gorgeous sandy beach, you can experience the wonder of giant sea turtles nesting, broad variety of seabirds, or even watch a rocket launch, or skydivers as they land.

Our veranda and large lap pool area is an all-time favorite, for taking siestas in the poolside hammock or the outdoor daybed. It is also wonderful for grilling and beautiful outdoor dining, or just for relaxation and conversation in the comfy padded swivel chairs. We are pet friendly.

We have four spacious bedrooms, two of which have king size beds and large TV’s. Each of the four bedrooms comfortably sleep two guests each for a total of eight guests. There are 2 and 1/2 baths inside, including one with a relaxing, two-person jacuzzi hot tub, and one hot and cold shower outside, enclosed for privacy.

Your perfect days at the beach will include kayak, stand-up paddle board and surfboards, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, kites and beach toys. There is also table tennis and a basketball hoop, all these provided for you.

Take our cruiser bikes just a mile away to explore the charming town. Golfing, fishing, boating, tennis, surfing and all water sports are available in an instant. Located just a short drive from Disney’s Beach Resort. We are pet friendly. There is a pet fee of $250 per pet Dog, per stay. Please be sure to disclose the number of dogs you are bringing in your inquiry.

Only 10 minutes away, enjoy the games at historic Dodgertown Sports and Conference Center. 15 private and public golf courses, 6 tennis clubs, gorgeous uncrowded beaches, marinas, Sunsets sails on the Indian River Lagoon, spectacular wildlife on airboat rides, fantastic surf fishing and deep-Sea fishing, unique variety of museums, art, festivals and theater, fabulous restaurants and shopping, resorts and cultural venues abound in Vero Beach. My parents, kids, husband and I loved our time at Maria’s home. The house is gorgeous and the patio and heated lap pool are secluded and where we spent most of our time when not at the beach, less then a 2 min walk on a nice path from the backyard that even my mobility challenged mother could manage. Maria’s house has all the amenities and she’s was so kind and helpful. We hope to return for another relaxing vacation.

This house was absolutely amazing and perfect for 6 of us with a couple of young kids. Location, size, amenities….i cannot say enough about how great it was and how much fun we had. This is our second time staying at this beautiful home with our family. It is perfectly laid out for a larger family. Very well appointed. The backyard is beautiful and spacious. The pool is lovely. I just wish the “no see ems” and mosquitos were not also taking advantage of the oasis it is. The house has everything you need for the beach which is a very short walk from the house. We brought our new born grandson this year and the bedrooms are all big enough to accommodate mom and dad and his portable crib. Very quiet neighborhood and beautiful private beach. Maria and her husband are very responsive as hosts. We will definitely be back again.

Best vacation ever

Casa Maria was an amazing 10 day vacation! The home has a great layout with private rooms large enough for our family of 6. Loved the multiple entry and exits through several of the rooms leading to the beautiful grounds at the front and back of the house, particularly those that had pool access. If only it weren't so hot, we could have left them open all day to get the ocean breezes. The convenience of having the beach just steps away was perfect for our older kids, and the pool in the backyard worked better for our 5 year old, as did the pool floaties and life jackets. We've been talking about coming back since the morning we left for the airport last week. Thank you Maria for our much needed time in paradise!

Spring Getaway

Maria’s property and location was perfect. Located right off A1A, close by excellent restaurants, shopping and hotels. Her property was gorgeous surrounded by palms, flowers and lots of privacy. The host is the best I have ever worked with. Arriving late at night was simple. The house was in a safe area, cozy, great pool and a direct path to an amazing isolated beach. This really is a great find. We were in town for baseball at the Jackie Robinson complex which is a nice simple drive. We hated to leave. Great find!

I fell in love with Vero Beach in the 1990’s, when I brought my two young boys here from Fort Lauderdale to learn surfing. I liked Vero’s barrier island so much that I sold my medical practice and moved here. Now that the boys are grown up and on their own I love sharing the magic of my Surf Lane home with those who appreciate this very unique part of Florida as much as I.
My early years were spent in an American-staffed International school, followed by medical school, in Colombia. Though my parents were of modest means they managed to make sure all six of us were bilingual by graduation. After Medical Residency in the Panama Canal Zone U.S. Army Hospital I completed my Pediatrics training in Orlando, then practiced Pediatrics for the better part of two decades in south Florida.
I take personal pride in hosting guests at Surf Lane, and enjoy doing everything I can to make their vacations memorably wonderful.

Why they chose this property

Vero Beach’s barrier island, between the placid Indian River lagoon (inter coastal waterway) and miles of fine sandy beaches on the Atlantic ocean, is very unlike most other parts of Florida – little traffic most of the year, tasteful and carefully planned commercial development (two story limit except for two grandfathered 9 story buildings), tranquil neighborhoods, and almost no souvenir or t-shirt shops. The beach just steps from my Surf Lane home is near a lifeguard station where more than two dozen bathers may only happen during Spring Break.

What makes this property unique

My Surf Lane vacation home is at the end of a cul-de-sac in a tranquil neighborhood, one home from the ocean. It is close enough to highway A1A to be convenient, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. The location affords instant private beach access, yet is shielded from constant wind and sea spray, and rents at more economical rates than direct ocean front homes. It is also extremely sturdy, constructed fully to hurricane Code.
