I’ve stayed in this beautiful mid-century house many times and continue to appreciate it’s cleanliness, amenities, well appointed kitchen, design, artwork, books, quietude and location.
Host Erin was very quick to reply to all my questions. The best way to view her messages on my phone was to use desktop mode. The VRBO mobile interface is VERY difficult to deal with. Also, VRBO tech support is trying to address my complaint but hasn't gotten back to me. It's been 2 weeks and I'm checking in every week. The house is accurately depicted in the photos and is VERY comfortable for four people. The most comfortable dining area is a bar height countertop so we got quite good at hopping up on bar chairs. House entry is easy during daylight. At night, you'll need a flash light to see numbers on key pad.

Thanks for your review, Geri! I am so glad you had a comfortable stay for your group of 4 people. Sorry to hear VRBO was a difficult interface for your stay -- I hope they can improve the user experience. Come back anytime!
We really enjoyed our time in Chapel Hill visiting our daughter and grandkids. It was a wonderful location, close to everything. Very nicely designed and it was easy to communicate with Erin. We will definitely stay there again on another trip.

We're so happy you enjoyed your time in Chapel Hill with your daughter and grandkids! It’s great to hear the location was convenient and that you found the space well-designed. Hosting you was a pleasure, and I’d love to welcome you back anytime on your next visit. Safe travels until then!
The property was exactly as pictured - clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Convenient to both Durham and Chapel Hill, with plenty of food options nearby (try Guglhupf Bakery). Erin was proactive and responsive during our stay, and we would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to the Triangle.

The house was beautiful, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Erin was the perfect hostess and always responded to our questions quickly.

Thanks for the great review, Lisa! So glad you enjoyed the house and its style. We loved hosting you and would be happy to welcome you back anytime!
Great location - private but still close to everything
Property was well kept and clean. Location was perfect. Close to shops/restaurants and downtown Chapel Hill/campus/hospital. Yet the property is still very private and quiet. Saw many deer in the few days we were there. Highly recommend for a quick getaway in the woods with amenities close by!

Thank you for your fantastic review! I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness and the convenient yet peaceful location of the property. I am glad you found the nearby amenities helpful for your getaway. I hope to welcome you back for another relaxing escape soon. :)
Clean, well-furnished and spacious for our family of 5. Appreciate that all the beds were king size and comfortable. Bathrooms are a little tight, but we managed. Close to central Chapel Hill and to my family members who live in Chapel Hill. Property manager is very responsive.

Thanks so much for the positive comments, Laura! The bathroom preference is certainly rare, but I'm glad you had a great stay overall.
Great getaway weekend for my husband and I in beautiful Chapel Hill, NC.
Tranquility on a wooded lot but still close enough to restaurants and shops.
Perfect location and the peace and quiet we needed for a getaway weekend.
The mid-century modern home is a timeless classic and we can’t wait to return to this wonderful property!
This house is surrounded by trees and birdsong. Inside, it is very well appointed, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. Even the kitchen knives were sharp. We were all delighted with our stay.
We were very happy with our stay. The home is set amongst a mature forest, providing a lovely backdrop and views from the windows. Speaking of windows....the home has expansive windows that bring in lots of light. The kitchen is well-equipped and well-designed. The bedrooms are very nice, offering good space for 2 adults each. The dining room would fit at least 10 people, and has a lovely view. The home also has interesting smaller areas for when you want to get away from your crowd. A very nice rental experience for the 6 of us!

Thank you for your thoughtful review, Andre! We’re so glad you enjoyed the beautiful forest setting and all the natural light from the expansive windows—it really does create a special atmosphere. Love to see that you found those cozy little nooks to unwind in. The pictures show what the place looks like, but your words and experiences add meaning and life to it. We’d love to host you again anytime!
Love the place. Three critiques
Front patio full of leaves and cobwebs
Front door locked different to open. Would not open.
Outlet in the front room near the bookshelf facing the patio spark when I plugged in my cell phone charger and burnt out the charger. Fortunately I did not have my phone connected to it

Thanks for the review, Montes. The leaves have started falling here in NC, so even when we blow them out of the patio they fall back. Same with the spider webs.... we clear them out, but then the spiders come back. (Our home is in the woods.)
We will definitely take a look at that outlet.
It seems like you got the lock to work - would have loved to help you troubleshoot any issues! It's a smart lock.
We had a very nice stay, but there were things that I believe should be approved upon. Pros: Beds were very comfortable. Styling of house was beautifully staged with wonderful Mid-century pieces and unique art work. Great location. The Brighthouse team was very helpful when we needed them or had questions.Cons: When we arrived, the front entrance was very dirty with leaves and spider webs everywhere. The back patio and table weren't even usable. It was covered in leaves and the table was all dirty. There were also dead limbs everywhere. The lighting was not great, it was very dark in all the bedrooms. In most of the rooms there was no overhead lighting, so you had to walk through the dark to turn a light on next to the bed (triping hazard). The place was not cleaned well. There were 2 large what looked like a Cockroach or Palmetto bugs on the floors, and the bathroom counters felt dirty. When we asked for an ironing board and iron, we were surprised for the size of the house that it only had a table top ironing board. They should have a full size ironing board in one of the tall cabinets. Lastly, I've been to a lot of VRBO types of homes and I was surprised that there wasn't a welcome kit that had a booklet with all the information about the house, wi-fi info and areas of interest around Chapel Hill. Also, almost all the homes I've been in provide you with a nice little welcome basket with coffee and treats. There was nothing like that. It's just a nice gesture.

Thank you for sharing both the highlights and where we can improve. We’re glad you enjoyed the beds, design, location, and our team’s help, and we’re sorry the exterior and patio weren’t cleared before check-in. We’ve reinforced our pre-arrival checks and are reviewing bedroom lighting. We maintain a professional pest-control program and added an extra service after your notes. While we provide a tabletop ironing board and keep house details in the Vrbo app and arrival messages, we’re always a quick message away if anything would make your stay more comfortable. We love providing local recommendations and are always just a message away. Thanks again for helping us improve.
