Beautiful location. Close to Lassen North entrance. Peaceful. Has all necessary items for an easy stay. I gave housekeeping a 3 because pizza was left in microwave and cobwebs on walls. But overall a 5 star property for cabin glamping.

Cottage 2 is a nice little house with a private front and back yard. It's old and filled with knick-knacks, but everything works and the kitchen has everything you need. It's a very peaceful place, but near the office and other campsites and lodging options (our large group stayed in various spots). The location is great with Shingletown stores nearby. We made multiple trips to nearby Lassen north entrance.

The original cabin we were assigned had some power outlet problems in one bedroom, and the hostess immediately moved us to another cabin - with great apologies. The cabins were well stocked in the kitchen and bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. But there was a funk about it that included dated decor and furniture, with plenty of reminders about Bigfoot.

Great cabin!

Awesome little cabin that was close to lassen and sledding at Eskimo hill. Perfect spot to enjoy the local area and relax in a nice rustic cabin with a wood stove. Peter the host was very nice and answered all my questions leading up to the trip.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bigfoot Lodging Cottage #2 It’s a very authentic cabin in the woods experience. The original vintage wood interior and squeaky wood floors added a lot to the ambiance. Plenty of outdoor space for grilling steaks or making campfire s’mores. The grounds are fun and funky with lots of interesting things to see including a pond and creek. The family that runs it is warm and accommodating with a small store that sells drinks and snacks. Just a short drive to Lassen. We would definitely stay here again.
Cozy living room with beautiful burl table.
Beautiful stemware
It was too warm for a fire inside so we put one on the tv and it was perfect….. our dogs were snoring like it was a real fireplace, haha!
The window was perfect for putting on makeup

I stayed at Cottage #2 in Shingletown Bigfoot Camping. It was a quaint, quiet, and cozy stay. If you’re looking for 5-star hotel conditions, this isn’t the place for you (yes, the old wood floors do squeak a bit!). But if what you want is a peaceful, inviting, and restful getaway, this little cottage might be just right. It was perfect for us — we cooked simple meals, relaxed in the living room by the wood stove, and explored the beautiful surroundings, including Lassen Volcanic National Park. Truly magical.

Great location near Lassen National Park. Cottage 2 was perfect for us.!

Cottage 2 had a fully stocked kitchen and a warm fire when we arrived. It was such a nice quiet place to spend a couple days with most of the comforts of home. The staff was friendly and the little store was very convenient. We will be back.

Overnight stay

We only stayed for one night while visiting Lassen Volcanic National park. The cabin was clean, but very rustic and remote. Although clean and comfortable, the property is quite dated. Good for a short stay.

Our whole theme of the park is remote mountan rustic look. After all... we are far away from the asphalt jungle and offer a relaxing natural forest experience.

this review is for the whole property in general. I will start off with the prosPRO (5 Stars):Proximity to Burney Falls and Lassen Park and Redding. The Grounds were close to a stream and waterfall. easy access and hike for everyone and dogs to.Friendly and Responsive staffvery peaceful and quiet.Lots of natural wildlife (deer, quails, squirrels and birds)Cons (1 Star):Cleanliness/ SanitationBroken ToasterExpired Kitchen spices and Rancid oilVery slow draining bathroom sink and mildewed shower curtain.Lots of junk on the Property near the Airstream trailer rental broken down cars, RVs even an old plane. the cabin we stayed in could have used a deep cleaning and had an odor of cigarette smoke inside. the biggest con was the WIFI. I know we are in the great outdoors but the wifi need a professional installer to set it up.and last but not least the description said the cabin had a view of the lake not so could see any lake from our cabin. just overgrown brush. all the above did not make what I paid for a week worth the money I spent. my wife and I will be seeking out a different place for a cabin in the area. I have already been searching and found better for less money.so over all I will rate the listing as a 2 1/2 out of 5 stars. the grounds need to be cleaner and less junk.Thank you
