It was a vey nice stay i a beautiful location near Lassen National Park.It was clean and comfortable. Lot of movies available, not as many books. Only drawback was a youth camp across the way which could be noisy in the day and early evening. Otherwise very nice, well equipped and great place to stay,
What a lovely stay in this darling cabin in the woods. The cabin is quaint and super clean with everything needed for a relaxing trip. We enjoyed cooking in the galley kitchen and eating alfresco out back under the trees. You will enjoy the quiet, unplugged cabin 8 minutes to Lassen.
Lovely cabin in a very convenient location. As described it stays cool even on hot summer says. Extremely easy access to Lassen northern entrance. Enjoyed the stream sounds throughout the night. Would recommend!
Very impressed with everything. Super clean and well stocked. Huge DVD collection. If you need wi-fi or cell signal, this isn't the place but it was actually great to disconnect.
This is a nice, clean house. It's set up well and is comfortable. The store is aways down the road and thankfully there was coffee as I forgot mine. There is no washer and dryer if that's an issue, but not a big deal. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent this house again.
My family had a wonderful time slowing down for a week and enjoying nature. We had far too much fun exploring the movie collection. The backyard was the perfect place to relax. Thank you for stocking s'mores supplies for us. They were a big hit.
Beautiful property. The owner answered all questions and communication was 10/10. It was a nice place to unplug and relax. Kitchen was well stocked with all items we needed and even some snack items were provided for our use. The downsides were the noisy camp across the street, the dark lighting (although a lot of flashlights were provided) and the old mattresses.
Cozy home with lots of decorative details and a house full of history, many things dating back to the 50's. Beatiful home in the middle of the trees. Had everything we needed including coffee and spices.
Close to Lassen NP Northern entrance.
While it was not listed it had WiFi, we were surprised there was none and we had to drive to the no 14 marker in the park or on the side of the road on the way to Singletown to upload documents.
Everything was as listed and more. The house was the best stocked rental we've ever been to, enough spices to make my 7-spice meat rub, better kitchen tools than we have at home, and a great grill. The location was perfect for access to Lassen Volcanic National Park. No cell or Wi-Fi but that was clearly stated in the listing. The only downside was the smell of ant spray or other treatment that lingered but got better over the stay. The heat wave may have contributed to this. We were fine with it but for some people it may be an issue. Thanks for a great place to explore Lassen.

Thank you Dave for your review. No ant spray was used in or around the rental rental but what you may have smelled was possibly the disinfectant our cleaner uses. Thank you for making us aware of this issue. Have an awesome summer and thank you again for choosing our rental.
Very cute cabin! The owner keeps the “cabin” feel with thoughtful decorations. The kitchen is very well appointed with every cooking appliance you’d need, as well as many spices and lots of different coffees to choose from. The beds were comfortable and even though there is no air conditioning, the house stayed nice and cool. The upstairs is a loft with two sleeping areas and a small bathroom in-between. Leaving the bathroom door open separates the two areas and can provide some degree of privacy. The upstairs half bath has a sloped ceiling so beware if you’re on the taller side. My 6 ft brother had a difficult time using that restroom. The backyard is amazing! Very woodsy! During the month of July there is a kids’ camp across the way, which we found to be pretty loud at times. We were told by the camp coordinators that camp weeks end early Friday morning. The weekend was blissfully quiet. All together, a very nice stay. We may be going back during the winter months.
Really liked it. Great property, easy access to Lassen.
Kitchen extremely well equipped, if a bit narrow. The back yard area was a great place to hang out, very nice gas grill, lots of places to chill with friends.
Only minor negative at all was some big ants invading the kitchen.
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The place was clean and had all the amenities that we needed. We relaxed and enjoyed the surrounding areas of Lassen Volcanic National Park, Mt Shasta, Burney falls and the Subway Lava Tube Cave.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is very peaceful and so convenient to visit Lassen Volcanic NP. Perfect getaway for family and/or friends. Mary was very helpful with directions and suggestions for food and excursions.
The five of us had a great stay at Mary's cabin. The trees and hill kept the house cool on hot days. We spent our days in Lassen and went up the road to find Brokeoff Meadow... beautiful gem all to ourselves!
Mary's thought of everything guests need, extra blankets easily accessible, coffee station, even a CD library! Appreciate your careful attention to detail.
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay in this sweet cabin in the woods. Our main activity was visiting Lassen, and we were at the park in 10-15 minutes each day. The cabin was neatly decorated with lots of great antiques. It was very clean and well stocked. We normally don't watch TV on vacation but we ended up watching a movie each night because of the fun selection! This was a perfect getaway in a great location. Would recommend to anyone!
Loved the place for our Anniversary Let’s Go to the Mountains for a Long Weekend Getaway! Well-stocked kitchen, dust-free, super clean spaces, western decor with a vintage 50s style. Super comfortable in every room of the house. Loved the front porch in the morning mountain air. We’d go back again!
Our family loved our stay at Mary & Curt's lovely cabin near Lassen National Park. There are so many thoughtful amenities: a well-stocked kitchen (there are condiments in the refrigerator and coffee and filters near the coffeepot), toiletries and soft towels in the bathroom and plenty of extra blankets in the comfortable bedrooms. We also enjoyed the DVD library which is indexed and alphabetized! Mary & Curt are respectful, attentive hosts who went out of their way to handle our one tiny issue with our stay. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin for your family's visit to the Lassen Park area. We will be back.
Cons:
no wifi or cell service, you have to drive down the road a few minutes to get that. For emergencies there is a landline phone.
Pro:
Well stocked, comfy home in the trees. Super close to Mt.Lassen Park, about 30 min from the Subway lava caves and about an hour from Burney falls. We loved coming back after hiking to relax, tons of movies if your interested. Mary is very responsive to any questions you have; very nice and easy to talk to.
We really enjoyed our stay! The property is clean, comfy and very close to Lassen’s (10 min drive) entrance gate. The kitchen is amazingly stocked. We would definitely stay here again!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the cabin. The location was ideal, a short drive from Lassen Park, and beautifully nestled amongst the pines and firs. The cabin itself was extremely well stocked with all the cooking utensils, spices, coffee, plenty of towels, linens, and a huge selection of movies. Curtis and Mary really thought of everything. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner each day out on the deck which was so wonderful. The nearby camp was not an issue at all for us, we were at the park most of the day and actually enjoyed hearing the sounds of kids playing, laughing, and having fun when we returned in the afternoons. Inside the cabin you could not hear anything from the camp.
Lassen Park itself is incredible, so much to see and explore - we managed to hike to the top of Lassen Peak as well as exploring Manzanita Lake, Bumpsass Hell, and many other trails. Picnic lunches at the park were great!.
We could not have imagined a more wonderful trip. The cabin was perfect, and the area is truly awe inspiring.
The Lucky Pinecone is cuter than the pictures show. No internet or cell coverage but a great movie selection, amazing stargazing, and super convenient to Lassen. The kitchen is well stocked, so it’s easy to cook at home. And the location among tall trees is lovely.
Nice rustic touches to the cabin, and stocked with everything you could need - kitchen supplies, board games, great DVD selection. The camp across the road was not in session due to COVID, so we can't comment on the noise issue that others have mentioned. There is no wifi, and we couldn't get cell service at the cabin - which is a blessing if you want to unplug. The hosts were very helpful and we had a great stay.

What makes this property unique
Being only 7 miles from Lassen Park, our rental is the closest and it is the perfect location for anyone wanting to visit and explore this unique area. Getting away from the crowds and enjoying clean mountain air are two great reasons to visit our cabin. This is a true mountain cabin, uniquely decorated, but with all the comforts of home. The cabin is surrounded by forestland ready to be hiked and explored. You can also relax on the front deck or BBQ out back and watch the wildlife while listening to the sounds of rushing water. On most star filled nights you can look for the big dipper or other constellations or watch for satellites and falling stars. There are streams and lakes to be fished just a short distance from the cabin.
