Escape the hustle and bustle while surrounded by nature at this peaceful cottage in the woods. City convenience with a wooded backdrop and amazing wildlife. A modern, well-cared for space nestled just off of Route 29. License: STR25-00041

Both bedrooms are located upstairs and require guests to use the stairs.

There is a spiral staircase inside the home. While it is iconic, it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, children, or pets. We do have a standard, external staircase as well - but, knowing there is a spiral staircase inside, please ensure our place fits your needs.

By booking this property, Guest agrees to the Rental Contract including all House Rules, Lease Terms, and a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk. Guest agrees to hold Host harmless and assumes all responsibility for any actions, bodily or personal injury, or property damage that may arise during the use of this Property, regardless of cause.

Beautiful wildlife

There are a lot of stairs, but the beautiful wildlife made the stay. The beds were very comfortable with very soft sheets. The owners were great!

Overall the courage was extremely clean! The beds were extremely comfortable! I love the setup of how the house was. Cara was nice and answered all the questions in a timely matter. Our experience at this property was favorable. The place was neat and clean. The host was very responsive and checked in frequently. The only thing to consider with this property is that the only indoor set of stairs is a spiral staircase.

Perfect and Cozy!

Everything about this adorable home is just perfect! We couldn't get enough of the newly built deck! Saw tons of wildlife and the home is immaculately kept! We spent so much time just grilling and enjoying the outdoors! Our dog loved it just as much! Cara was a gracious host and we very much appreciated the communication!

Peaceful Stay

Good communication with the property owner prior to stay allowed for us to plan appropriately for location proximity to our event (LSSC) and account for the property amenities for our family & dogs. The kids loved the spiral staircase but our dog did not. The external staircase worked out just fine for this. Plus we all loved the natural park-like setting. This unique property was a home-run for our weekend stay.

Peoria trip

We were in Peoria to visit my mother who lives at Lutheran Hillside Village. This house was within a couple of minutes away , so extremely convenient. The home is updated nicely inside a very comfortable. There was everything needed in the home and the yard was nice size for our pup to play in .Cara , the owner was very nice and responsive. Would definite stay there again when in Peoria.

Adequate stay

The house was well represented in the photos however there were restrictions on where the dog could be, where you could eat and drink and where you could wear shoes; dogs are accepted but not welcome. We are not messy people but we felt like we couldn’t use it as a home away from home.

Hi Joel - Our house rules only restrict where a dog can be when *left alone* at the house. The caveat (when left alone) is stated in our house rules. This is due to the fact that the upper level is carpeted. We don’t want dogs having accidents on our carpets while their owner is away because we strive to keep our home in excellent and clean condition for future guests. The rules about eating and wearing shoes in the house also followed the same logic, keeping the home and carpets clean. Our house rules ask that guests do not wear shoes on the upper level because, again, it is carpeted. For eating, the home provides a comfortable dining room downstairs and large patio upstairs - both of which are perfect for enjoying meals on either level of the home. I’m sorry you were disappointed by these rules. We do feel they are fair and reasonable in order to keep our house clean and in great condition for future guests. To date, we have had no complaints from other guests about our house rules.

Came for girls fastpitch softball tournament

It was the hottest week of the Summer, so every day it was a relief to get back to an air conditioned house! The house was perfect for our needs. When it was cool enough we relaxed on the deck and listened to about 2 dozen bird species calling and singing. Other than the birds, the neighborhood was very quiet! We had several text/email communications with Cara with questions, which she answered immediately and cheerfully. Cara knew we were in town to cheer on our granddaughter and her team in the fastpitch softball tournament, and in her responses would ask about how they were doing. Very thoughtful! So, all around a great experience!

Enjoyed the secluded location. Loved being surrounded by trees. The owners were easy to contact. The house had everything we needed. Loved that it was pet friendly. The dogs stayed on the main floor. I think they missed us at night. Would definitely book again but would probably leave the dogs at home next time.

Why they chose this property

We live in Colorado and bought this place in 2021 as a 2nd home. This cottage was a perfect little escape from the hustle and bustle of our busy Denver suburb and gave us the ability to see our friends and family much more often. We've been overwhelmed by the amount of wildlife - from deer right outside our kitchen window to birds happily singing in the trees - escaping here has been nothing short of incredible.

What makes this property unique

The peace and quiet of the cottage has been the most unique benefit. It's hard to find places to escape the chaos of daily life. We leave the cottage feeling rested, relaxed, and recharged.
